IT was a gut feeling at first... didn't like the way I saw his assertion that Golden is Civ as buddying. Then DDL tried to put forth a case to make me look bad, and I identified three separate incidents wherein he was not entirely accurate with the truth... and those inaccuracies each just happened to make me look worse if you believed them.

Posting my intention to vote DDL per Quin's argument and Snow Dog's horrendous defense of himself.

I would much rather lynch Snow Dog and if two other players who haven't already voted were willing to do so, I'd vote for Snow Dog instead. If DDL flips town, I'm not convinced Snow is town. If Snow flips town, I'm more okay with DDL. I also don't think it's super fair to lynch Player A based on Player B putting forth a bad defense unless you're going to lynching Player B first. But I'd rather DDL go than the other players with 2 votes at this point.

How does that work?
And I realize that you probably meant "love" and not "live", that's fine... I mean how does Snow Dog's vote reasoning justify your town read of DDL?

Do you mean that Snow Dog is so obviously wrong in his assessment that DDL must be the opposite of what he said? :ponder:
More like Snow Dog's posts seem scummy. Willful OMGUS or uncooperativeness.

If Snow Dog is a wolf and is against DDL, my town read of DDL based on other things looks better.
For one, that's a big 'if', and for two, that's an even BIGGER assumption... especially in a game with two Mafia teams and a smattering of Indys.
But Quin says DDL and Snow Dog are mafia together?

Do you agree with that assessment, LC? Assume DDL flips town. What's your gut read of Snow. What if DDL flips mafia?
I did notice what Quin brought up as a teammate-connection... I noticed it when I first read it. Now that it has been discussed more, I also see that it might be too simple a conclusion to make, like Noob Mafia 101. DDL's flip will therefore have little impact on my read of Snow Dog.

I am suspicious of Snow Dog because of his drastically different playstyle. He wants to go fast and loose this game, carefree and a bit chaotic. It's a fine choice, and one that a Civ might make to survive longer (because who wants to nightkill the court jester? He's no threat...), but my other feeling is a bit stronger, that he is a baddie that wants to avoid a lynch by acting that way. It's really hard to separate truly suspicious behaviour from fun chaos behaviour. Which would be the point. It's not nearly enough for me to advocate Snow Dog's lynch though... and anyway, I owe him for our last game together, and I want to follow through on that.
I get your argument against DDL and I also get the defense of "but DDL isn't in LC's head and wastnt trying to misrepresent." My general thought is not to vote for either of you because neither argument against the other is that convincing but I'm willing to listen to a restatement/rebuke of arguments if you want to be more convincing. :p
I might just do that. The thread is moving faster right now though, and I want to stay current... so we'll see.

Why? I've been preoccupied, and I wasn't going to spend my only week all year spending time with my family and friends in person playing mafia.

I can't help that the deadline ends on Christmas evening. I'll be properly engaged going forward, but this unfortunate timing makes another cycle wherein I don't have the time or motivation to read to make any semblance of an informed decision.

Since when is alignment claiming not allowed? Pretty sure people say "I'm town" all the time in games around here.

Role claiming is what's typically disallowed.

Ignore me though if there's something I'm missing due to not having read the thread yet.

Vote anyone but DDL.

I dislike LC's switcheroo on him, and I'm gonna call it an OMGUS, despite Con's claims to the contrary.

I cannot believe that JoH honestly thinks lynching DDL will somehow hurt Snow Dog, for some reason?

I see no logic in that.

I can't post in supatown MP mode all the time even if I'd like to, and this game started at a bad time. I'm resigned to doing what I can with the limited time that I have. Hopefully I can read during N2 and D3.

Why would Snow Dog fake being drunk?

That's the most convincing thing I've ever heard. :srsnod:

That's fair enough, and I have every intention of reading the thread in due time, but I don't have the time to read 1,000 posts properly, absorb the information, and make reads in a quick enough fashion to cast an informed d2 vote, so I'm trying my best by conversing with folks over the next 15 minutes or so and then casting as informed of a vote as I can.

So inform me quickly. Where are you casting your vote and why? Where should I consider casting my vote? Where shouldn't I?

That's the most convincing thing I've ever heard. :srsnod:

That's fair enough, and I have every intention of reading the thread in due time, but I don't have the time to read 1,000 posts properly, absorb the information, and make reads in a quick enough fashion to cast an informed d2 vote, so I'm trying my best by conversing with folks over the next 15 minutes or so and then casting as informed of a vote as I can.

So inform me quickly. Where are you casting your vote and why? Where should I consider casting my vote? Where shouldn't I?
Le sigh.

I understand the frustration. I realize it's ironic. I'm trying to do what I can with what time I have.

Should I quickly glance at their ISOs? Maybe I should. I think I'll do that and let you know what I see from an uneducated perspective.

Epi, can I take this to mean you lean civ on LC? Can you give me an idea why because I really want to believe he is, but I'm having a hard time believing it.

I don't like that sprityo 2.0's first handful of posts of any game-related content are all a combination of salt over his 1.0 self dying and discussing his former self rather than attempting to generate reads on anyone. I'd say that's a bad look.

What do you make of it?
:
I think it could mean Sprityo is mafia, in fact I'd be willing to lynch on it. Glorf was alreayd a suspect of mine, for not giving reads not talking much and a general gut read. Two things to know about Glorf is he hates lying, even in a game he won't do it and he hates being mafia. His refusal to answer the good/bad question was a tip off, he wouldn't lie about it, he'd just not say it either way. I'm thinking his BTSC mates told him that. He went with it, but hated it and asked to be replaced. Since even if he was bad, he wouldn't want to let his team down. So he replaced out since he couldn't be a mafia member and he did this soon enough that most people wouldn't consider it.

He attempted to do the same thing in Star wars mafia when he was bad as well.

So I'm voting there and I'll be voting there now, since I am 80% sure Sprityo 2.0/Glorf are mafia and that is why Glorf acted the way he did day 1 and was replaced.

I'm feeling good about the SDs and Golden. I won't be lynching Jack today since he is a civ lean, or Epi/LC since I need time to read them.
I never saw the case on MM so he won't get my vote either.
So Glorf replacing out is closely correlated with him being a baddie?
I would say yes there is a correlation.
http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... ?f=2&t=769

Take a look at Star Wars mafia, Glorfs first game here, he subbed out after awhile as mafia there as well. Though I will admit that was in part due to being mafia and being completely overwhelmed, while I don't think i've ever seen a civ Glorf sub out, not even when he is being harassed and bothered.

Finally I'd say im being replaced just assured me of my read, I'd say I can gut read some players rather well, Glorf being one of them and he was pinging me from his first post. Furthermore when he wouldn't give me reads, something he does often regardless of alignment, but much more as mafia.
Voting sig for this contradiction despite me suspecting glorf.
Hedging.
Not making assertive claims.
Is this not a reason for voting you, sig?

That really surprises me a lot, after the post of yours which I just quoted above... which states that your town read of DDL just got townier.
It wasn't that strong of a town read on DDL.

And yeah, even if DDL and Snow are likely not on a team (my previous thought) and not likely are on a team (where I'm trending to but not 100% sold on), it doesn't mean Snow being mafia makes DDL not mafia. It just makes it more likely.

I'm much more sold on Snow = bad because no defense, not being helpful or scumhunting and the possible connection with DDL than

DDL = bad because of a possible connection with Snow and misrep of LC plus pinging others

But that second one is better than Gloryo = bad cause replacement, Sig = bad cause his case on Gloryo is reaching or LC is bad cause not being committal enough. None of that is even slightly convincing to me.

If most people think DDL + Snow Dog = super unlikely w/w combo, I'll not go that direction. Like I said, struggling with the meta a bit and the argument that this is too obvious of a play for them or too obvious of a solution for Quin is something that I'm having to take everyone's word for as I've never played with any of them before.

Snow Dog's posts in the last two pages suck.

@MP I'm on my way home after being out ALL day, so I can throw you some stuff then

I personally wanted to look into quin and why people didn't like em, even though I think quin is pretty okay looking off the top of my head?
