ROUND ELEVEN ~ MONORAIL
CHATROOM-BASED - CLOSED BTSC
In Monorail, you will take turns putting down track tiles to complete a circle line that departs from the train station and arrives back at the train station. There will be two train station tiles with incomplete tracks on both sides. The two elimination candidates will take turns to put down 16 track tiles to complete a single circle line. The 16 track tiles consist of two sides. The front side shows a straight line, while the back side shows a bend. Beginning with the starting player, each player will put down 1 to 3 tiles during their turn. You may put down any side of a tile, but it must be placed so that it is touching the top, bottom, left, or right side of the already placed tiles. However, tracks do not always have to be connected. If you put down more than one tile at once, they must also be placed in a single line. There is no need to use all 16 tiles to complete the track, but all the tracks that are used must end up connected. You will take turns to place down tiles, and the player who manages to finish the track wins. However, there is another way to win Monorail other than completing the track. If you judge that the track cannot be completed with the currently remaining tiles, you may declare that it is impossible. If a player declares that it is impossible, the opponent must use the remaining tiles to complete the track. If they complete the track with the remaining tiles, the player who completed it will win. If they fail, the other player will win.

This differs from the version of Monorail played in the show and during Round Seven in one very important respect: the first player to win 2 rounds of Monorail will advance to the Finals, meaning that the game will be played 2 to 3 times.
During Rounds 1 & 3, Golden will go first. During Round 2, Scotty will go first.
To play, Golden should click on the above link, start a new game, enter their username, and PM their opponent a link to the match. When someone wins, they must screenshot their “winning screen” and PM me an image of it. That person will proceed to the next Round, and their opponent will be eliminated.
I'd suggest that both Golden and Scotty coordinate a window of time where they can both play together on the website. I'd expect the game to take 40-60 minutes to complete.

It turns out attempt 1 failed because the game is non-functional by phone.

GOLDEN WINS
Congratulations Golden, you will advance to Round 12 of The Genius. Scotty, I'm sorry, but you are eliminated from the competition. You are, however, able to serve as a Surrogate in future games for players unable to be present, and you will get the opportunity to aid one of the two Finalists in Round Twelve.
If you wish to send me a confessional/log/whatever for this round, feel free to do so.

Re: ROUND ELEVEN ~ MONORAIL
okay, but seriously Golden, I need to have an intervention with you about all the Sangmin comparisons.
It's been blatantly obvious since about halfway through the game that you and Daisy are the Dongmin and Hyunmin, while DH is quite clearly the Sangmin.

Dongmin is DH. He's the guy who keeps people in line with Negan gifs and tells them if they don't work with them they will go home.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Tue Jul 31, 2018 1:20 am okay, but seriously Golden, I need to have an intervention with you about all the Sangmin comparisons.

Re: ROUND ELEVEN ~ MONORAIL
Actually what happened was, I sent a list to EdJou at the very beginning of the game to give him a run down of the people who were playing and their best Genius analogue.
Here it was:
DharmaHelper - Dongmin; this is the guy I imagine trying to pull together a core and expect full loyalty
Nutella - Hyunmin; she's a bit of a puzzle prodigy
Scotty - Hongchul; He's a lot of fun to hang out with
M Plus 7 - the old guy from season 2. Lovable and I could imagine him getting by on just being in the right place at the right time
Epignosis - Kim Gura; it's very hard to know whether Epi will take to the game and run the table or be the grumpy guy who goes out early, he could go either way
sprityo - Sunggyu; sprit will probably come across as clueless and 'winging it', but he's also unpredictable, and could pull out a win when you don't see it coming.
Spacedaisy - Kyungran, she's definitely one I wouldn't want to cross in a hurry but could also be a good ally
Speedchuck - Yoohyun (I think? The poker dude from season 3) - speed is sharp, and likeable, but he could easily play spoiler
Long Con - Kyunghoon; could be anything from sublime to ridiculous.
I don't have a good read on Lunalee or DisgruntledPorcupine
And then I'm Sangmin (In my dreams
)

Actually it’s kind of flattering to think I’m Hyunmin... but I think the game could’ve played out very differently if others had more knowledge of the show/game from the get go. I don’t think this comparison is apt though because Sangmin didn’t run Kyungran. Dongmin did run Hyunmin. Golden and I have worked together as partners. Sometimes he was running our strategy, sometimes I was.
He also didn’t mention that he has EdJou down as Jinho.
