The poll has been reset! No longer will it follow post count. I never intended on that being the final code, regardless of whether it was reversed or not!! This is Avant-Garde after all; there is too much method to that madness! Instead, all of you have been assigned new numbers.... or, rather, will be assigned. :zyv:
The only item that retains some level of significance: The four numbers chosen previously.

Good luck. Be careful where you vote!

This time I am telling the truth: The poll will now change no more. What is decided hereafter will be the result. Take that as you will.

The post count mechanism was merely in play to award someone a prize and that person was awarded.

Remember: 1, 9, 14, 25. They have significance. But you will need a miracle to figure it out!

Sock out.

Given that he's now reversed the order again, I'm thinking this might be the best option. Plus it's one of the few times where I can go after low posters and it's deemed okay! :D

The PM has been sent. :feb:

And I have returned! Insane sock is out of here. There will therefore be no more 'changes' to the poll other than what has already been set in motion.

Any questions, let me know. Doesn't mean I'll answer them, but I can at least be more direct in my question evasion, as opposed to being cryptic.

Who are we? Why are we here? How many licks does it REALLY take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

Alright, so the numbers now mean something, and apparently it's not something obvious. My first guess would be that those who chose the numbers get assigned the numbers, but that seems too easy.

I very much enjoy Mafia :D I hate that I am so busy and can only observe and vote most of the time. Today I did laundry, like 4 sink fulls of dishes, did school with all three of my kids (individually) went shopping, waited for 20 minutes for a lady to meet me in the parking lot of Walmart to buy a pack-n-play I was selling on Criagslist (who never showed by the way). Then when I got home I worked on cakes (baking one, decorating another). I still have to fold some laundry and do more dishes. My days are just non-stop. Don't get me wrong. I love my kids and I love my job. I hate to make one excuse after another, but please don't lynch this poor busy momma :p
You are one of the reasons I always say being a mom is a full time job.

Linki: I fully intend to test that Tootsie Pop one. If it turns out wrong, I will.....say lots of very mean things about you in-thread!!! <_<

Linki2: Unfortunately, given that the poll's been reset and the meaning for each number has (supposedly) changed, the discussion might be a moot point unless we direct our questions to the host. And that's assuming he answers them.

Linki3: Yeah, and I murdered a guy at work named 'David' and stole his shirt. I can be ominous too. :P

I tried posting this once, but apparently it got lost in the Internet somewhere so I will try again.

I have seen a couple people either not getting what my point was or deliberately trying to make me look bad, but either way I will explain my "safest" comment. If Epi had been right and Zodac had targeted INH, then he presumably could not target him again, thereby making it the safest vote a civ could place by voting INH. However this is all meaningless in light of the fact that INH was killed, we saw nothing from Zodac and the poll is a giant mindfuck. But my original point (though null because of those missed details when I posted it) is nothing suspicious nor is it all that very confusing.

Good job again lizzy on figuring out the posting thing before it got all changed around. You're really supper good at puzzles aren't you?

I've got no idea how to vote and also I need to go back and re-read this whole BOB thing because I don't understand how him having a minion can affect the lynch. I thought Zodac was the one that affected the lynch.

• Bob – [Twin Peaks] - Wow, Bob, Wow. On even nights, can possess someone. That person will join his team and they gain BTSC. Bob himself cannot kill, but his minions can, unless they are under suspicion. Bob's minions collectively can NK someone every night, unless they receive at least one vote. To win, Bob and his minions need to outnumber everyone else. Minions can still use their NP, and even have BTSC. If Bob is killed, only his minions remain.

Yea - see - I don't see anything about vote manips in his role or any secrets. That said, It did make me realize that this question hasn't been asked:

oh devilishly handsome and now, thankfully, directly criptic sockface - If Bob dies, does the win condition of his minions revert back to their original allignment or is it still the same as Bob's allingment was? Also - if Bob dies, does one of his minions inherit the ability to gain new minions?

If I had to speculate, I would think the PM would be to Epignosis for having the highest post count. Probably some sort of prize or maybe a fun fact about one of us.

I kinda thought maybe Teh PM was that someone had to figure out what the pattern was and there was a prize for it...
But....who knows? And I guess also we should be worried about Teh PM being sent? I'm trying not to get worked up about things I can't possibly know the answer to. I think it just makes me make poor decisions.

Bea, to answer your question, this is why BOB makes spreading the vote important. His minions will kill someone unless they each (and there should be one, right now) receive a vote. It may not be practical to spread the vote every time, but if we can't figure out who we're voting for then we should definitely spread for now. Also we should kill BOB very soon if possible.

I have to say, I'm a little weirded out by people who voted before Phase 2 even started, when we knew (at least I thought it was obvious) that MP was going to switch up the poll again. Vomps, Mongoose, etc, mind explaining for me?

My theory on the PM is similar to what bea said; it seems to me like Lizzy should have gotten it for breaking the first code. Could also have been Epi I suppose, or someone who got a vote during Phase 1, but those seem unlikely to me. Hopefully whoever did get it is good and will share with us, otherwise I dunno what to do.

Also, somewhat never mind about people voting before Phase 2. Unless I missed something and Vomps was the only one to do that, your votes were apparently erased. I'd still like to hear your thought process, but I don't really see how it's suspicious.

This makes me wonder. Do those numbers on the poll have significance, or is ti something else? And why do some poll spots have quesiton marks instead of numbers, even though it seems perfectly obvious which numbers should go there?

ok - that's fair - but for god's sake - he recruited one person. How are we going to spread the vote out enough and still lynch someone to neutralize that power and do we really *want* - AT THIS MOMENT - to neutralize that power?

I know - people are going to call me crazy here - but maybe bob can help the civs? In a way that INH made it so so difficult for him to be an indi that helped the civs - the way I see it - is maybe? maybe just maybe? Bob might be civ friendly? IDK.

There has been A LOT OF DEBATED here on TS - regarding Indies as of late.

I am eternally worried about them as they are not alligned with the civs. They can change at any time. I always feel their threat as I have double crossed a civ team as an indi before. I GET where svs is coming from in her view of indies. We learned at the feet of the same :lorab:

But maybe? Maybe right now? Bob isn't the person to go after? It's been my experience both as a player of indi roles and seeing how they tend to shake out - the indi's go with whomever they think they have the most likely ability to win with.

Aaaaaand now I just remembered that I quoted the passage that said bob and his minions needed to out number the other players to win.

fuck.

again - though - I am hard pressed to understand how we can fight this?

bea, for somebody who won a nifty prize in a public poll on a Night period that Bob was hiring, you seem awfully and suddenly interested in the workings of Bob.

I also wanted to say, this is the most hilarious game I've ever been a part of. I found myself quoting posts to laugh at publicly, but there got to be too many of them. So just generally, thank you all for the joy.

And bea, I think preventing kills would be good, and spreading the vote gives us a chance at that. I'm not saying it's a good long-term strategy, but for today if we don't get any more info I see it as the most beneficial course of action.

Linki: Disturbing, I find this.

not suddenly - everyone was talking about how bob could manipulate the poll and I thought that power was zodac so I investigated and found things I didn't know. I have not forgotten that I also asked very specific questions about the zodac power and how to help the lynch polls - I specificly BEGGED people to not :tldr: it.

And yet no one - including the person who is the resident expert about how zodac might work - answered any of my "please don't ignore me" questions. :srsnod:

I'll be as for front as socky allows me to be with my prize - but tbh -

your assumption that I might be a Bob recruit feels *both* paranoid and opportunistic.

I have not been recruited by anyone.

And we are champions so we all have night powers - I didn't see a 'nilla role in this list. - I'll be the first to say - that my night powers have been messed with. More than once.

NO U

:omg:

really? really? this is what I get?

:sigh:

then - for your own sake - as soon as you can - lynch me and see my role.

I am not a bob recruit. I asked about bob and his minion's win conditions solely because they were being talked about and I didn't understand the strategy. Again - I asked several questions about Zodac that still haven't been answered, but apparently only some of my posts are worth reading.

I'm not as smart as the rest of you. I have to ask lots of questions in order to understand.

That doesn't make me bad. That makes me a nub. This nub is firmly both a nub and a civ.. :noble:

I thought I would try to be funny.

(I think the NO U is one of the stupidest things in Mafia. WIFOM I get, but the NO U is dumb, and I have always said so).

Seriously, my thinking is that Bob would want to pick up the person who won the prize because:

1. Well, the person won the fucking prize and could pass it back and forth, and
2. That person has a lot of civilian credibility.

On another note, I don't like the focus on Independents. I don't get it. There are two bad teams that kill.

3) I just want to make sure I understand how this works with Zodac - so, he picks two people every night and the votes get split among them? So if Zodac picks player A and player B - Player A gets 10 votes, player B gets 2 votes - they both have 6? Then the forced tie means that Zodac can pick which one of the two get voted? What happens if one of those players doesn't get any votes? Say the top vote getter is player C or say neither player A or Player B get any votes, does Zodac's powers kick in then? This is where I'm getting confused.

just sayin..... no one who played that game has been able to answer these questions either. Am I now Zodac because I asked about that role too?

linki - fair enough - I missed the joke. I do that often in mafia. I'm sorry. (and I actually agree with you - I hate NO U - hence my reaction) ]

but you forgot one thing - bob prolly sent in his recruit pm long before it was ever decided that I was going to win the prize. I mean - I was a late vote getter was I not?

and - in this thing - I do agree with you - my opinions on indys is fairly common and also my other thought on them is focusing on them early in the game is not so productive - you never know how they will roll. I'm always leary of those who try to make the thread AFRAID of the indiys - as an only course of action - ya know? While I totally get - and often side with svs re: indies are baddies lite - I KNOW she also agrees that sometimes they could help and also they are baddies lite. People that focus on indiys - in my experience tend to be baddies that are trying to shift the focus.

and also - since I do have my prize I'm not so worried about anyone trying to kill me in the next night - I would say - maybe that's where we should look - you know -- when we have - maybe? a real day phase. Because I feel like lots of peeps have been trying to keep us worried about bob and zodac and I'm starting to thing that maybe - just maybe they might be people who want to keep us from baddie hunting. Because now that INH is dead - they don't have that to fall back on. Day 3 is going to HAVE to be baddie hunting day. We need to start hunting baddies. We've been distracted from it for far too long.

IDK. I could be completely dumb here too.
