Sounds like an appropriate hobby to me, there should e a name for that.Dex wrote:My hobby is to follow Indi around like her adoring puppy Addy does.

Timmer! I never properly responded to this! (I was too distracted when I saw it, by posting about your picture.timmer wrote:I'm majorly into movies. Like, majorly. I am into music but not anywhere near the level some of you are. I second the mention of rateyourmusic.com as a great site to discover new music. just in the last couple of years I found The National and Joanna Newsom through them.
I do taekwondo as well and get beaten up and beat others up about once a week or so.
Oh, and as for board games, it's all about Settlers of Catan for me.

What film festivals do you go to? I've been to Savannah, Sarasota and Gasparilla. Pretty much yearly on the latter two. I used to have press credentials as well -- through Gainesville Sun - I wrote movie reviews and analysis for their Gainesville24-7.com site back in the day. Now I run my website just for fun (see my sig). Right now I'm obsessed with John Cassavetes.timmer wrote:I'm majorly into movies. Like, majorly. You've succinctly put your finger on why I hate scrabble too. Any game where measly two letter word played the right way beats a long, impressive seven letter word is not a proper word game.bea wrote: I fracking HATE scrabble. Scrabble is a math game that pretends to be a word game.

This is why I like Boggle and Quiddler, but not Scrabble. I have not played Scrabble since I had to ask if I could spell EIEIO. I had no consonants and it was awful. Playing with people who have memorized the two letter word list is just impossible as well.thellama73 wrote:I hate when people try to spell out letters of the alphabet. "Z is spelled zee." No it isn't! In no written document ever in the history of mankind has Z been spelt zee... except the scrabble dictionary. When I play word games, I always have a house rule that you can't use a word if you don't know what it means.

What is your opinion on using "zed" as a word as well? I have seen people do that, too. Apparently Wikipedia lists "Zed" and "Z" (NOT "zee"). I agree with you about Zee, not sure about Zed, though.thellama73 wrote:I hate when people try to spell out letters of the alphabet. "Z is spelled zee." No it isn't! Yeah "zed" is how they pronounce "Z" in England.S~V~S wrote:What is your opinion on using "zed" as a word as well? I have seen people do that, too. My sister uses a Words With Friends cheat site, I recently discovered. Once she showed me a list of words, and there was one I had never heard of, so i clicked on it, and it said "No Known definition" and "Is an acceptable WWF word". WTF??? What is the point?
That was when I stopped playing. I thought my sister was a genius for knowing words like "glip" but it turns out that not only was she cheating, WWF itself cheats
I tend to be more lenient about allowing zed, but I still don't think people in England write the letter as "zed." They write it as Z and pronounce it zed.S~V~S wrote: What is your opinion on using "zed" as a word as well? I have seen people do that, too. Apparently Wikipedia lists "Zed" and "Z" (NOT "zee"). I love obscure words if they are good words. But "za" as an abbreviation for pizza is just ridiculous.nutella wrote:Well I'm one of those crazy Scrabble lovers you all hate then, I love the obscure scrabble words![]()
