okay, this sounds like a "explain it like i'm 5" scenario so that's what i'm going to do.

i rand wolf in a game. i read the posts, and i give reads based on the posts. just because i have tmi doesn't mean i can't make reads. my thought process with reads is the same as a villager as it is as a wolf. if it's different, as a wolf i am slightly more likely to be accurate, or in other words, "right for the right reasons".

This is completely player dependent though. I don't believe everyone approaches the game as a wolf with the same mindset. Some players are completely different as a wolf compared as how they play as town.

this applies to a lot of players i think. as a wolf, the goal isn't necessarily to fake as many reads as possible. that's not what i do as a wolf and i suspect it isn't what a lot of people do as a wolf. as a villager, you make reads based on posts. as a wolf, you're making reads based on posts in a way you do as a villager. the only difference is in what way the wolves can actually push their wincon, which is through pushing miseliminations, and getting townread. that's how you win the game of mafia as a wolf.

Again, I really believe this is just player dependent.

my point is you're not necessarily "faking" stuff just because you're a wolf. in theory, tmi should affect how wolves post in that way. but it's not the same in practice. the extent to which emotions and reads can occur are more similar between both alignments than it may seem.
Right, but some people fake reads on town to drag them in as town, or try to find reasons as to why they are scum. When I say "fake" I didn't necessarily mean they are coming up with a reason they didn't truly believe in. In the context of the read on Tim it was more him faking his normal townie rage and NOT reads dependent.

For example, I believe if Tim was trying to emulate the rage he probably wouldn't go into detail as he did in his previous posts. I also believe his teammates would have probably attempted to drop it because he is like a consensus scum read across the board, and if he was trying to fake it's not really working for him seeing as he is the leading wagon alongside me.

Depends. I just think that shit gets harder to fake as the game goes on, a bit like with "fake solving" imo. Eventually you're going to run out of content and then the story gets a bit old and you'll be found out.

I don't think Poop Explosions looks bad in that world. Like they aren't *cleared* but their accusing you of preflipping TAT looks pretty good in that scenario since I don't think either of them would want to disrupt pressure on town Tim as a wolf.
