open setup

11 vanilla town
1 2-shot role provider (can offer 2-shot role to a person of their choosing; the provider must decide between [doctor or tracker] and [cop or vig])

2 mafia goons
1 2-shot role provider (can offer 2-shot role to a person of their choosing; the provider must decide between [doctor or tracker] and [cop or vig])

specifics:

1. deaths and eliminations are "flipless": alignment is revealed, but role is not
2. all provided roles are 2-shot, except the vig (1-shot)
3. the roles provided by the mafia provider have a 25% chance of insanifying, 25% chance of failing, and 50% chance of doing its intended action
4. players are not informed which version they receive
5. failed actions are not refunded
6. both role providers can use one of their shots n0, but this is not mandatory
7. mafia role provider cannot give another wolf an ability; however, the town role provider can
7b. role providers cannot self-target
8. role providers cannot holster starting n1
[added] 9. role providers cannot targe the same player twice
[added] 10. if both role providers target the same player, that player becomes a Jack of All Trades with 2 2-shot abilities, and must switch back and forth between actions.
[added] 11. wolves cannot night-kill their role-provided target on the same night (e.g., if they give Player A a role on N1, they have to wait until N2 to kill them)

insanifying results:

doctor - kills target
cop - opposite alignment
tracker - spits out a random fake track
vig - backfires on shooter

as clarification for the role provider:

you have two sets of roles you can pick from, and you can pick one from each (e.g., you can't give both cop and vig, or both doctor and tracker)

planned start date: not until after Everyone's JOATed is finished. after that, it'll start whenever it fills/mental health willing

Rule clarification: if mafia and civ providers both target the same player, how will that show up to the player? And how will the player designate which to use?

just for simplicity's sake, they'll become, in effect, a JOAT

the message from the host is the same for either alignment

to prevent intentional stacking/sabotage, role providers cannot target the same person twice

i won't be playing this game because I'm not a big fan of stuff like insane cops but I will point out that I believe it is GTO for townies to refuse to use any role they are given and play this as 12v3 mountainous

I'm not sure what you mean. None of the roles are day actions.

Will rand and start N0 sometime today. If it's too late into the evening by the time I get this done, we might just have a really long N0 and start D1 on Wednesday.
