Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 0]
I'm leaning towards voting for DDL for going against the grain on the JJJ vote. I think a civ JJJ is a great asset, and a bad JJJ is devastational for town.
My second vote is still up in the air.
Linki: JJJ- honestly no wrinkles, but casual is fine. Don't wear the same color shirt as pants, and don't wear a shirt that is smelly or has offensive writing.for a first coffee date, it's all in the confidence and simplicity. Good hygiene is a plus.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 0]
I certainly try. I've gotten better with experience, but I still seem to draw evil roles less frequently than the mean. I finally got my first real chance to spread my demon wings on The Syndicate recently, and it was a success -- but there are clear differences in my games between alignments that I've not yet fixed. Thankfully for me they seem to go unnoticed though.Dragon D. Luffy wrote:Not exactly. We want our bad metas to look like our civ metas, but a lot of us have civ metas not as thorough or pro-active as they can be, so the baddie counterpart to those metas are easier to make. We don't look that good all the time, so when we actually are bad, people don't detect it that easily.
But Jay? Like you said, he is the perfect civ. He is the town leader, the pro-active guy, the king of TL;DRs. And he tries to make his baddie meta look exactly like that (Ive never seen it myself, but he has described it that way). And that makes him a more dangerous baddie than most. Its harder to pull that metaboff successfully, but if he does it, we have a problem.
So I tend to be paranoid and avoid easily trustingnplayers like him. A good parallel to that is Marco from my forum, who plays a similar way.

Hello! Work, job applications, and No Man's Sky are currently eating up 99% of my time but I will do my best to commit the remaining 1% to this game. I'll have a flick back through now and see if there's anything that makes me want to vote anyone in particular but to be honest my votes are probably just going to go to two of the people I like the best.

If I had a third vote, itd be for Scotty. His love for cherry tomatoes is all I need to put him at the top of my rainbow list.
I agree with you Luffy, about JJJ. While I didn't vote that way, Id suggest that one way to deal with a hard to read a character like him is to give him as much power as possible and see what he does with it. It looks like he'll be one of the prefects anyway, though.
I mean, this makes sense in my head at least.

Working on the assumption that a 'Prefect' is a position of some significant authority and influence, can anyone explain to me why Golden only has one vote? I mean SERIOUSLY? He was (is?) The Syndicate's representative at the Mafia Championships. He won a s#*^load of awards on this site this year (including The Syndicate MVP). He has demonstrated an ability for intelligent analysis and shown that he has the courage of his convictions (from my experience of him in Arkham Mafia). On top of all that, he's just a really nice guy... If anyone out there is still undecided, I'll be voting for him and for the reasons stated, I think you should too.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 0]
I'll put my hand up for this! This is the first game I've played in a very long time where I've had no foreseeable issues or commitments that should impact the time I have to dedicate to this game and I'm looking very much forward to it!Dragon D. This is SO. TRUE. At least in actual politics.Spacedaisy wrote:Fair warning, I'm in the midst of hosting my own game, interviewing for a new job and applying for others, and packing up my apartment and moving for the next two week. So yeah, don't expect a ton here at first from me. I'll do my best but frankly I am quieter at the beginning and get more engaged as the numbers thin out. It's just kind of how I work, and given everything going on, it's not likely to be any different here.
As for prefect, well I'll just quote some Douglas Adams' Hitchiker's Guide...
"It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it... anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."
Therefore I am voting for timmer and nutella because they said they didn't want it.
Yeah, this is a good (albeit depressing) point. And I was so determined to have faith in humanity this time...Scotty wrote:Well not to be a Debbie downer, but all it takes is a quick chat in BTSC to say "I'm posting the next player to post in Sanskrit will get my vote"Russtifinko wrote:Agreed, JJJ.
Hey, I REALLY like the idea of the "whoever does ____ first, gets my votes" posts. They prevent people from finding excuses to give votes to baddie teammates. So I'm gonna do one too, and would suggest others do the same (even though it's an itsy bit late for a few).
The first two people to post pictures or emojis of platypi earn my votes.
Not that that is happening, but I'm just being devil's advocate here .
Also, vote for me. I'll be a better president than Herbert Hoover

I don't think you're allowed to vote for yourself! iirc, if you do, neither of your votes count.Scotty wrote:Thank you for the vote of confidence, Nero and DF! Keep em coming!
I voted for DDL and moi.

Very sorry to hear this, BtC! I'm glad to hear it sounds like she's doing marginally better - hope her recovery continues speedily.Bass_the_Clever wrote:So, two weeks ago, Mom aka Roxy, fell on a broken step at her apartment and fractured her face in two places, and fractured her skull. Nothing needed surgery but she got really banged up and hurt. If any of you know her on a personal level I'm sure it would cheer her up to hear from some old pals.

12. Votes are not changeable. In addition, you will have two votes to cast in every poll. Submit both votes at the same time, or you will lose your second vote. If you cast more than two votes, none of your votes will be counted. Self-voting is permitted.

I appreciate the sentiment from people who think I'd make a good prefect, but it's definitely worth taking a hard pass on giving it to me this time.
