Specifically, I would say this kind of blatant speculation is more typical of early town behavior than not.sig wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2017 7:50 pm Tequila really sucks 4/10 wouldn't recommend.
Second Hey! Lets get this lynch train started.![]()
I think we should eye people who are to heavy on the role play, it could be used to avoid scumhunting/be left alive out of amusement. However, that shouldn't be the only reason to lynch someone.

Actually, a no lynch gives town some time to get free info if there is an info role. Quick math:
No lynch:
D1: 10 players
D2: 9 Players
D3: 7 Players
D4: 5 Players
D5: 3 Players (LYLO if 1 scum)
D6: Scum overrun if we get here and game isn't over.
Lynch on D1:
D1: 10 Players
D2: 8 Players
D3: 6 Players
D4: 4 Players (MYLO if one scum)
D5: 2 Players Scum overrun if we get here and game isn't over.
So in each case, ignoring D1 on the no-lynch side, town gets the same number of days to try and lynch the scummers. No matter how many scum there are. For every scum, take off a day's worth o' time. See how it works? An' the No Lynch D1 gives townies more info on their allotted lynch days.
HOWEVER!
This only works perfect if'n we got no doctors, vigs, or scumblockers. So I'm more inclined to lynch a scallywag on the bright and early day.
Long Con, what say ye ta that?
Shiver me timbers if'n I ain't about to throw a vote on me swabbie Dunya, fer the brine'd do 'im good I reckon!

I also felt my previous response to your request for people to evaluate self-meta was weak, so I’m going to do that a bit to address your request better and because I feel it is relevant.
I’m generally much more cautious at the start and only comfortable with developing town reads this early, and despite some poking I still feel that is the case so far. I prefer to work in POE and poke at whatever I find questionable, then if the poked player’s response doesn’t compute or seem sincere, then I have a tendency to go into hardcore MP mode and I try to avoid tunneling and dogpee mode but inevitably it always happens lol.
Regarding my reads, I’m feeling town on sig and you because I feel at various points your lines of questioning and statements have been indicative of a genuine town perspective. Not sure about anyone else yet.
What are your reads so far?

Seriously though, if you have something I can address, just let me know. Otherwise I’m just going to do my thing over here and hopefully you can detect my town spark.
This is very true, I think it comes from WHEN YOU KILLED ME AS MAFIA AND WE WERE IN A CHATOr maybe not.
Either way from a game perspective you seem townie, but from a gut read you're pingy.
Otherwise I don't have much else to add, LC seems to be putting in some reads, I don't see why he thinks DDL is mafia though. I do see what he's saying about speed, but at the same time there isn't much content to discuss and he was contributing so I'd like LC to elaborate on his Speed read a bit. So I'm fairy neutral on everyone at the moment and would like to see more players post.

Thanks for elaborating otherwise. I agree that the thread isn’t particularly illuminating or brimming with content quite yet but reads need to be made even with sparse content. I am feeling lost somewhat as well. What is it you see in the speedchuck thing?
No, it's 0 to 10, 10 being the most suspicious.MovingPictures07 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 11:37 pm LC thanks for the response. Can you elaborate on your scumdar scale — does 5 mean null read or no?

I am still in the process of poking and prodding, I don't have any strong feelings of "good or bad" from anyone but i'm at least getting to have a better understanding about the shape of this play field.MovingPictures07 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 11:45 pmHey bud!

I'm going to claim cop tomorrow just to spite you.sig wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 12:10 am I know it sounds silly, but you seem to townie at the moment. Kind of like how you acted in Scrimmage mafia.
So I'm of two mind with Speed, one his post that LC pointed out was a fillerish post, however he posted it very early and was stating his view on no lynches so it was useful insight. So it could have just been a mafia member posting to look involved, but it felt like he was genuine in trying to state his view. In fact after thinking it over this makes me more suspicious of LC, I feel like he could be fishing for potential bandwagons. However, it usually takes me a few phases to get a good read on LC. Maybe by night 2 or 3 I'll have a better feeling.
Right now I'd rather lynch a player who isn't contributing then someone who is, unless we have a strong reason to suspect they're mafia, and I'm not seeing anything very obvious yet.
Also and I should've brought this up sooner, but If we have a cop and they get a red check I suggest they role claim immediately, with only 3 mafia members sacrificing the cop to get a mafia member is worth it, also other civs should take advantage of role claiming if they have useful information that will catch mafia members, AND I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH AS A CIV DONT FAKE CLAIM COP!!!!!!!!!!
@Long Con What do you think of me? And can you go a bit more in-depth on your Scum reading for Speedchuck?
Sorry, but I've seen this trick one million times. It's a Syndicate classic. You do something that is obviously stupid so you can gather reactions. Folks like Marmot mastered this art ages ago.
Quoting a bunch of posts and replying to them is different from making a long analysis of game mechanics.
This is a long post but I noticed it's missing some baddie reads. Do you have any?MovingPictures07 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 11:45 pmHey bud!

If I remember right, it's based off of the sock games that MP hosts. The most recent one was Seinfeld.Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 6:45 am Btw, can anyone explain me the matrix format of the roles that is in the first post? The host picked a random row? Or a random column?
I tried to look for that mafia champions scrimmage we had since I recall it using a similar system but I couldn't find it anywhere in the museum.

All of the numbers and letters refer to a set of 3 power roles and x number of vanilla civilians (x being however many people are leftover after giving out power roles - in this case, 9). The roles that are in this game are decided ?randomly? between A, B, C, D, 1, 2, 3 and 4. For example, in this game with 12 players, if Sloonei is using the '3' roster, the power roles in this game are a 1-shot ninja, a town watcher, a town jailkeeper, and 9 vanilla civilians.
As an aside, if we get a power role flip, we can use PoE to figure out what the rest of the power roles are. This'll be easier depending on whether all roles flip or not though.
I usually try to use town/mafia in Naruto Forums, and civ/baddie here, to stay true with site flavor.
Right, I missed the relevant content in the middle of this post:
Must have skimmed over it in my search for posts to respond/react to, related to my No Lynch thing. Really disappointed that you used "your" and not "you're", but happy that you didn't say "weary" like so many do. Your response, to me as a Syndicate oldie, seems like a nice, light way to seed some suspicion out there, as a baddie. It also rides the proverbial fence - "now i wouldn't say if you support a no lynch your a mafia member, but...". Two strikes earns you a Scumdar10 rating of: 4.1.sig wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 3:38 pm Hm I don't regret making that post early honestly waiting In an attempt to catch someone would mean I put to much thought into it and like I said it isn't really a good tried and true reason to lynch someone.
I find quins comment interesting but not suspicious, and I am 100% against voting no lynch, now i wouldn't say if you support a no lynch your a mafia member, but I'd be very wary of anyone who pushes a no lynch, especially syndicate oldies since it isn't really a part of your culture.

Baddie DDL said it well. Mine were response/analysis/interaction, his was a mechanically explanatory chunk. Looking back at that sentence, I used "were" for my post because it's really a bunch of smaller posts in one. Each quotation and response could have had its own post, a la MP07, but I prefer to keep it tight. All in all, when comparing our two posts, the similarities end completely at the number of lines the text takes up. Do you read every post that shallowly? Do you even believe your own post, or are you just mimicking what you think the desire for helpful content looks like? Also why do you say Speed's post is scummy when you make a super big post as well? Or was it more to do with the fact it was a big post that said very little?
