The bible has a lot of names. Not yours or mine that I know of though. :p

It didn't hurt that my husband is a big Isaac Asimov fan.

After these things, God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am." And he said, "Take your son, your only-begotten son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Mori'ah, and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I shall tell you." So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac; and he cut the wood for the burnt offering and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off. Then Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey; I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you." And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac, his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together. And Isaac said to his father Abraham, "My father!" And he said, "Here am I, my son." He said, "Behold, the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"Abraham said, "God will provide himself the lamb for the brnt offering, my son." So the went both of them together.

When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. Then Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called to him from Heaven, and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I." He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only-begotten son, from me."

Isn't that a horrible story?

I don't think so. But that's a conversation to be had over chili and beer. You want a horrible story, read Judges 19.

Oh God said to Abraham, “Kill me a son”
Abe says, “Man, you must be puttin’ me on”
God say, “No.” Abe say, “What?”
God say, “You can do what you want Abe, but
The next time you see me comin’ you better run”
Well Abe says, “Where do you want this killin’ done?”
God says, “Out on Highway 61”

Night 0: Forest Funk

No one has died.

Dr. Fetus was not found. The players remain in Chapter 1: Forest.

It is now Day 1. You have 24 hours to lynch a villain!

And so for any of you who might be curious to see some Meat Boy gameplay:

Ragequit playing Meat Boy:
Smosh playing Meat Boy:

Gameplay 1 -
Gameplay 2 -
Gameplay 3 -
Gameplay 4 -
Gameplay 5 -

I would have embedded them as Youtube videos, but didn't want to create a long post for players to have to scroll through. Anyone genuinely interested in the beginning of the game should view Gameplay 1; for the game's challenges, probably 3 or later; for a laugh to see Ragequit get pissed at a difficult level see Ragequit, etc.

For those of you who don't care, carry on, resume your mafiaing, etc. etc.

Can you imagine if the actual justice system worked like this game?

-We know one of these people committed a murder. Well, actually, they haven't commtted a murder yet, because it's only day one. Still, we'd better kill them just to be safe.

-Doesn't that make us the murderers instead of them?

-Shut up. Anyway, we have no hard evidence about which one of the people did it, so let's just guess! Oh, and we're going to let the people who are suspected of being murderers also be the jury, because that seems only fair.

-Wow, that's really smart! No wonder we elected you our leader.

-Darn tootin'.

You don't like the name of my first-born son, of a first-born, of a first -born, etc. ? I seem to remember you helped us decide too. :noble:

I did read this just to make sure I was ok naming our son Isaac, but it's supposed to mean he who laughs, because Sarah or Abraham laughed when told she was with child, because she was too old they thought. So I think of it as a happy name. :D

Whoa to the murdering analyzing too. Good points all. We do put people in jail for failed kills though.

But you still didn't answer my question, Yo: It's good that you were able to look in 3 levels! That helps us cover more ground! But I'm a bit confused on how you were able to look in 3 levels. I assume a role secret, but I haven't been able to look through the roles very thoroughly.

It could also be related to his choice in the night poll.

There's not much to work with here. I'd really like to hear why Jigsaw thinks Devin is The Doctor, but I kind of doubt he's going to say (or that I'll be back before the vote closes - we're cooking out tonight). Jig looks to be new, and I really don't think his team would have let him say something like that if he were bad (though that would be a really clever play, if they thought of it).. He probably doesn't understand the conventions of certainty in mafia yet, but on the outside chance he did get info about Devin, I'm going to vote for Devin instead of randominzing.

linki: and apparently somebody is voting for me, so voting for someone that already has a vote is a side-bonus.

Good point! Since there are more civvies than baddies, can we assume that o aggregate there are more civvie "lives" than baddie "lives?" If we can make that assumption, shouldn't we spread out the vote as much as possible each lynch, so that the baddies will die off by attrition?

What if we take out really strong, helpful civvies, with powers that could help us out? It isn't worth the cost.

It won't matter as long as we keep spreading the vtes out. The powers would be irrelevant. We outnumber the baddies. They will all die off from attrition. My instincts tell me that your resistance to this idea might mean that you realize I'm right, so I'm voting for you today. Sorry, buddy.

I don't see this strategy working. I think we'd be firing too many blanks so to speak. We'd probably lynch several helpful, powerful civs in the process who could make it easier for us to win. And even then, we don't know for sure if baddies have less lives than civvies do.

This theory stinks of high heaven to me.

I forgot to add this in, but what if the baddies have some kind of vote manipulation ability? That would render llama's theory/idea fairly moot, because we would be handing control of all our lynches to them.

I think my choice of words to end that was a bit strong, so I apologize. I mean, I can see your point of view since we definitely have more civvies than baddies. I just worry about using such a strategy because of all the points I mentioned.

I will be back in time to vote but I have other things I need to do. I'll mull it over until then.
