Lets see, some contraband from the movie...smokes, a pick-ax, a Rita Hayworth poster, chess pieces, rocks (soap stone and alabaster), etc...MovingPictures07 wrote:

I don't think the contraband has to do with anything else. It seems he's the only one that can find it and dish it out.
I'm not sure what it will mean if we're given contraband by Red and I guess our host isn't going to let on about it since he's answered Boo's questions but not the contraband ones. We shall see.

Ooh, that could explain why the Shawshank team can't get any. Uf Red is the only one it can go through, what would happen if he chose a Shawshank bad guy? Would he get the answer that it didn't go through, or would he know nothing about it?Elohcin wrote:Lets see, some contraband from the movie...smokes, a pick-ax, a Rita Hayworth poster, chess pieces, rocks (soap stone and alabaster), etc...MovingPictures07 wrote:

It's usually an opportunity to have game related discussion without needing to lynch someone straight away - day ones without it are usually slow and have poor outcomes for civvies. Day zero polls also sometimes lead to prizes for groups or individuals.FZ. wrote:Can I ask, what is the point in day 0? What does it usually do? You are hee-larious Logan
As for Red finding out if the person received the contraband or not, I doubt he does. If he did find out, he would automatically know if the player he was to give the contraband to was a civvie or baddies, yes? And, if you look at his role description it doesn't say anything about secrets. This makes me think he will not know.

Re: [Prologue] The Shawshank Redemption Mafia
Prologue's End
As I said, the boys always go fishing, and last night, they reeled in thellama73, who cried out that he shouldn’t have to put up with these conditions, and that he would give other inmates “anhedonia,” or some damn thing. I don’t want to find out what kind of disease that is, or how he was planning on spreading it around. Two guards came and made him hush. After that, the prison was quiet.
You don’t last long in prison without keeping your ear to the ground and your ass out of the air. So I got the dirt on all the new fish that came in yesterday.
That one over there, they call him MovingPictures07 because he killed seven folks involved in that motion picture crew what was filming up here in Maine. He wasn’t even in a rush when he did it.
Elohcin only killed one person, far as we know. Stopped for a hitchhiker named Nichole, but before the girl could jog up to the car, Elohcin put the thing in reverse and ran her over. Simple as that.
A name like Bullzeye would make you think of a marksman, but that’s not the case here. Quite the opposite. They say if you gave him a gun and told him to shoot the ground, he’d miss. So his crew gave him that name. He’s in here for a string of robberies.
Then there’s Mongoose. He just wanted to kill a snake, so he claims. Swung a hoe and the business end came off because the wood was rotted. It sunk itself into his son’s skull. Nobody believed his story. I’m not sure I do either.
Now Johns2jj is an interesting bit of business. His wife became a prostitute because he wasn’t making enough dough. He didn’t like that. So he sought out every john he could find and separated them from their crotches. I’ll stay away from him, thank you very much.
MrThomas ran an illegal gambling den for years. Called it “The Roadhouse.”
S~V~S? Serial killer from up north. Carved those initials, tildes and all, into every victim he had. The first victim? A dog named Vincent.
There’s one that goes by A Person. He doesn’t talk much. Looks more like a cat if you ask me, not a person. Creepy fella. I still don’t know what he did.
Dom was pretty big shit, I hear. Used a highly successful glee club as a means to launder the money from his illegal businesses.
Mister rearranger is a real freak show. Called himself a witch and cut up his victim’s liver and made puzzle pieces out of it. Called his art “The Solid Mental Grace.”
Then there’s Nevinera, an Italian who killed a man, cut the guy up, and served him in his restaurant as a special. Called the dish, “Spaghetti Nevinera.”
reywaS. Nothing special, I’m told. Just some prick who broke the law too many times. Talks a good mess about some island he was lost on though. Delusional, I’d say. He wears mismatched glasses.
birdwithteeth11 had a thing for dentures. Stole eleven pair from various “old birds” in Bangor, hence the name. Never in my life figured denture theft amounted to time in Shawshank, but some say at least he isn’t “horsewithteeth11,” whatever that means.
Lizzy. Unoriginal. Fancies himself a spiritual descendent of the Bordens.
As for boo, well, I’m not sure what to tell you. Rumor has it he only ever killed anyone from behind. Anyone who’d turn and look at him would be spared. I don’t know what to make of that, do you?
Like several of these new fish, Vompatti belongs in Juniper Hill, not Shawshank, if you want my opinion. He never killed anybody, just drugged them, saying that they looked like a “nervous horse.” Jesus, the people they send here.
And Russtifinko? Schoolyard kids made a song to skip rope by about him. “Russtifinko / was a Pinko / Robbed the rich to play pachinko / He got caught / and no acquit / How many years did Russti get?
The FZ. killer murdered anyone who had those initials. His last victim was Francis Zappa.
I think the weirdest of the bunch is thellama73. Robbed farms of various livestock and pets and then “sculpted” each one to look like a damn llama. Had seventy-three specimens on display in a cellar by the time he got caught. Even if he never harmed a human being, that’s some twisted sounding shit right there.
Anyhow, even though they’re all condemned criminals, I get the feeling some of them really don’t belong among us, as though they’re here because their appetite for meanness wasn’t satisfied after the judge brought down the gavel.
Look at their faces. Listen to their conversations. See if you can figure out who it is.
It is now Day 1. You have 24 hours to lynch someone.
