Sockface sent me all kinds of nice chocolates! Seen above.

The peanut butter balls and coconut balls are long gone, and a coworker destroyed the cookies (with her mouth, not with a hammer or anything).

It's all good sabie - I've felt bad I've not gotten yours out sooner too. Just need to pick up one more thing and then I'm all ready to pack and mail it!

You take your time sweets. New job is important. Not stressing is important too. :)

    You got Buckeyes from Daisy?!?! Colour me jelly!!!! I'll bet they were sooooo nommy.

I was just thinking this year that I missed those at the holidays and might have to look up a recipe for them sometime soon....

I loved it all, Daisy!

Goosey - yes! those little chocolate covered peanut butter nummy? Totally called buckeyes because they look like buckeyes. Pretty much every person from Ohio can make them but me. I've, until now, never had much of a reason to make them as there's always been someone else who brought those to the party. I've been nostalgic off and on for them. :) I'm vicariously happy you loved them. :D

They were MARVELOUS. I think I am going to be obsessed with them.

The most hilarious part is that I don't typically like PB in things, but love these.

Mongoose, IMO they weren't the best example of Buckeyes out there. I felt like they came out kind of dry, not creamy enough. And my blind sister did the chocolate, so it looked fairly messy, lol. But we had fun making them and they came out ok, even if they weren't as fantastic as I was hoping.

Bea, they are actually really simple to make, just kind of time consuming.

It's funny that the two deserty things from "home" I'm most nostalgic about are buckeyes and peanut butter pie. Which admitedly is prolly REALLY location centric. I think it's an Amish recepie that was adopted.

goosey - welcome to Ohio :D

daisy - I've learned that *most* of the best food is really pretty simple to make but time consuming. It's a lesson that can be learned for all sorts of "convinece food" - it's better if you just give it time to do it from scratch. That said, in our world, sometimes time wins sometimes taste wins. :sigh:

sabie - today I picked up the last thing. Hopefully tuesday I put it all together then BDH will get it in the mail tues/wed ish.

So yay! The chocolate with sea salt and caramel are mostly gone, the fusilli pasta will be eaten this weekend and my art from Abigail will be framed by Friday. And I got an Elo cake mix to have my own Elo cake :lorab:
Just let me say a few things about the CD. First I cannot believe the work he put into it. It is just so WOW!!! There are 8 wonderful tracks that include some of my favorites and a new favorite -Whipping Post, Breathe, Eleanor Rigby, What is and What should never be, The Trees, Wild Mountain Honey, Little Wing, and an original made for me called The Roxy Jam.
His musical talent is brilliantly amazing and that is not saying enough!

Thanks so much again Epi!

It's "The Roxy Jam."

I wasn't satisfied with vocaroo's handling of it, but oh well. You gets what you gets.

So out of curiosity, were we considering doing this again this year or are we too late for it now? I was thinking about it on my way to work yesterday and realized I hadn't heard anything...
