Re: Outpost 31 {GAME OVER}
I think if the baddies had been 2 rather than three it would’ve balanced out the setup more

Not that it really mattered in the long run.
Patting myself on the back for TH. Not so much for thinking it was Jack too.

Re: Outpost 31 {GAME OVER}
Mafia needed six mislynches with no mistakes, I'd say that's pretty fair. Like DH said if the consensus townreads had actually been town it would have been a different game.

There weren't lynches though, were there?

Re: Outpost 31 {GAME OVER}
Yes there were lynches, there was also votes for the flamethrower. Mafia could have lynched themselves (say, if DH had torched me or INH out of 4 attempts) or town could have gained control of the flamethrower. It's just that neither of those things happened.

Re: Outpost 31 {GAME OVER}
Flawless Victory. I think the "failed kill" mechanic was cool. How I got away with not getting torched after the N1 kill missed, I'll never know. It wasn't me, but if I was a civ I would have said "Hey the guy I'd kill would be DH, so....why don't we torch DH."

Re: Outpost 31 {GAME OVER}
I don’t think it was unbalanced. I do think that a number of townie strategies go out the window. It’s just balanced by scum maybe missing kills, torching each other and not being able to defend each other. Overall, I think that makes the setup less fun than normal mafia. More chances for one team to just completely flounder.
That said, the scumteam played like champs go keep themselves from being torched and GMan’s flavor was a ton of fun. Overall, a good game.

Re: Outpost 31 {GAME OVER}
I don't think any of us knew what to do.
I was scumreading JoH after I died for torching me. I thought there was no way he'd get away with such a blatant scum move. Turned out I was wrong in more ways that one.
Only scumread I nailed (again, after I died) was DH.

Re: Outpost 31 {GAME OVER}
Overall a clever set up that requires a style and level of play that I don't think most of us were prepared for. If we treat this game like "mafia", we lose. If we dig a little deeper, move and shake a bit, and try to be as clever as G-Man was when he made this, we find success.

EBWOP: By the way, I include myself in that. I had to really focus and dial in and shift my thought process to do as well as I did. "Don't kill your suspects, this isn't mafia. Don't make too good a case. Don't do this, don't do that. Think about this. Vote this person to get the flamethrower because if he gets it, it's an easy no-lynch"

Re: Outpost 31 {GAME OVER}
Thinking on it the Flamethrower Vote was crucial to win/lose. I killed Nova when Nova would have gotten the flamethrower. I voted for Jack when I killed Jack, and I voted for Doc a couple of times because I figured no one would, and if anyone did he wouldn't show so it'd be a no-lynch.

Me torching Eloh was intended as a message to the assimilated who hadn't NKed me that I was assimilated. I said in the thread I wouldn't do it because I was a civ actually looking for baddies and then I did it. I thought "The math checks out at this point I can drop the act"

Re: Outpost 31 {GAME OVER}
Let's just all remember civ Eloh from this game.
Good game, baddie people. Altgough DH and INH didn't fool me, they did everyone else. And...TH fooled me big time. I really thought he was civ. I will read the end game stuff later when I have time, but in case these questions weren't already answered...I am guessing DH and INH knew avout each other,amd I correct? And TH,did you know about DH and INH? And G...did you do the TH, DH, INH thing on purpose with the H-H-H? :P

TH and INH hit each other N1. Nobody hit me at all, and I hit nobody. I did have a gut read on INH (I was going to kill or torch him at 1 point but changed my mind)Elohcin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:55 pm Let's just all remember civ Eloh from this game.

I figured you were civ. I torched you because you seemed frustrated and me being in full Asshole Mode in order to try and get the W, I didn't want to further upset you if you came at me later down the road and I had to defend myself how I usually defend myself (by being a jerkboi)

I sucked hard in this game and I apologize if my atrocious hunting skills offended or annoyed anyone.
But it was a fun game.
