It means Martin had a result on his actions that makes sense with the ability I used. Only one part of his action failed. If he can confirm it was the negative effect that failed, my action was successful. I don't know how he got the info about only part of his action succeeding, but it fits with my action, so that's why I believe him, and I believe he's town.

Yeah I wasn't told which part failed, I thought it was "if you used one you had to use the other (which is true)"
