This makes good sense to me. Especially since that's what he did with the vehicles at the beginning. Rolling of dice and such.

Using that thought process, I found this link to common RPG weapons and their stats:

http://driftwood.tripod.com/rpg/weapons_chart.html

Going through this list, spear seems to be the most balanced weapon. (Good damage:speed ratio.) So I'm thinking of going that route. I'm new to this whole thought process though (the D&D dice rolling stuff) so any additional thoughts/observations would be welcome. My geeky boyfriend helped me to at least figure out what speeds were good and bad, and what damage of 1d8+1 meant and all that nonsense. (You could go crazy over there! :solitary: )

Also, do you think it would be wise for us to spread our votes around the different weapons? For a better chance of success? Or should we concentrate in one area that seems to be best/most balanced - giving us a better chance of success?

Again with the lynch non lynch? :WTF:

I didn't want to think it but when BWT was grasping at straws I almost japed that he shouldn't really worry if he's civvie as most (all iirc) of the lynches thus far have not had the person with the most votes die right off or at all, and he'd more than likely survive.... :sigh:

however, I'm pretty sure he's mafia, so non BWT voter/latevoters, i.e. bandwagoners should get the :eye:
not to mention BWT his self has to be taken with a dumptruck full of salt from now on.

I wonder how much other rolls where there powers increase their numbers of votes factors into things, and the "secrets" of other rolls might also go a long way to explaining things as both "orco" and the she-ra counterpart character "try" to do good but sometimes cause more harm than good (in the cartoon iirc :( )

as far as a weapon goes....in AD&D it always seemed a good idea to have a balance of player rolls and weapons choices....so it might be a good idea to spread out the choices rather than everyone grabbing a spear or a sword, ya know??? :ponder:

welcome back the llama, i'm pretty sure u r a good guy....

and happy b day hosts daddy....yay for good drugs!!!! (don't steal ur pops meds :feb: )

Yes, seriously, what is with all the lynch switches. :WTF:

I have a feeling its from artifacts we've allowed snake mountain to get because of all the votes we piled on. lol. Or maybe technologies the Horde conjured up. Naughty MP, did you switch the lynch to me cuz I'm on to you? ;)

I'm trying to dig around and see what I can find to help us with this poll. Unfortunately, it seems I should have probably chosen a non-stridor vehicle day 1, and tried to win the race, because my info was not helpful at all. It told me absolutely nothing that would be helpful as far as the poll is concerned. I just knew about the problem in advance, but there's no "the ilkorts hate swords" or anything that would prove useful :sigh:

TBH I'm even trying to read it for hidden stuff like maybe a weird choice word implying one of the options. Or a secret message or something. I just dont understand why it was classified as info :| Maybe there is nothing to FH's analysis for how people voted furlong and/or spider the other day, because it certainly wouldn't apply today. No one with info on Avion knows how to vote.

Are you serious about this or not? I can't tell. If you are, I'm obviously NOT Snake Mountain since they tried to kill me Night 1 if you recall. I'm also not on The Horde because I'm clearly not bad this game. If I was, there's no way I would have been continuously bringing up BWT as bad and then used the switch, I would have obviously saved that switch until I needed it. I know that's WIFOM, but your point here was equally WIFOM, so there you go. If you weren't serious, then OK, I responded anyway. Lol. I definitely think you were obviously hexed, so I'm leaning that way.

I have to say, my information for the Ice Mountains is also seemingly unhelpful, so that's possible.

Whoa. It appears I managed to survive a lynch attempt. Except it looks like it might be at the expense of BF, who I'm pretty sure is civvie... :(

And before anyone asks, no, I don't know how I survived this lynch. Although apparently anything I say is moot at this point, since I'd be surprised if anyone actually believes me.

And I kept forgetting about this (even with multiple people asking me), but I picked Ice Mountains with my Stridor info. The only thing worth mentioning about it is that apparently the Kulataks mine Eternium there. And Eternium is the strongest metal apparently in the MOTU universe, because it says anyone who wore a suit of armor made of the stuff would be nigh invincible.

Oh, and I'm picking halberd here. I went and looked at the stats for each of these weapons in the Gladiators section which Robert happens to run as well, and it seems to be the most powerful weapon. I get the feeling he's going to use the same dice/stats here as he does on that board.

Inspired by others, I checked my own d&d book. I liked the idea of something with reach, so I was thinking spear, but I changed my mind after I saw what a halberd looked like. Here's what the halberd desc says. (Ill see if I can get a picture posted)

Image

"Normally, you strike with a halberds axe head, but the spike on the end is useful against charging opponents. ... You can use the hook on the back of a halberd to make trip attacks."

Idk it just seems the most useful to me. Has the ax head but its got the nice reach. And the point of the spear for charging. Also from the charts it appears to do the most damage, it's 1d10. All the others range from 1d6 to 1d8.

Welcome back llama!!

So no one was lynched, actually. Looks like…
- BWT escaped the lynch somehow.
- timmer (maybe with some special abilities) could have had BF lynched all on his own, but that was blocked as well.

My opinion is that it was not a lynch switch (as juliets and others mentioned), but two separate variables. I think there are a lot of powerful roles among us…who wants a “vanilla” role, right? And, because of this, there are so many different variables taking place. We are trying to connect them all and it is confusing us. Let’s all take a look at the roles and the specific abilities we each have so we can try to better understand what’s going on during these lynches.

We need to figure out what specifically is stopping these lynches from occurring.

About the weapons, I think MP may be on to something (each weapon corresponds to a dice roll). I will do more research before I decide.

the speed ratio is also something to look at, cuz while the halberd might do the most damage it might also only have one attack every 3 rounds or something like that, whereas the mace doing less damage per di roll gets to attack more often.....just sayin.
btw i have no knowledge that it does/doesn't work this way....but the vehicle vote sug that it might work something like this.

can some one post the stats on all the weapons so the rest of us can see what the choices are in detail, tnkx ;p

I am, quite frankly, lost. I don't know what a 1d3 means, I don't know anything about Epig's dice, and I don't have any information about how these weapons are rated and why, and I don't think I can learn all this and put it in perspective in time to vote. Therefore, I am just going to follow someone that I trust so far in the game and hope they are right! I take total responsibility for my vote but I don't want to sit here and pretend like I know what ya'll are talking about.

Welcome back llama, I haven't re-read you yet but the right people seem to trust you so I'm assuming for now your rezz is a good thing!

I did re-read blindfaeth to see if I could find a reason why someone would want to lynch him. I didn't find anything significant but I did find, in two separate cases where bf talked favorable about MP including voting for him for the shield and voting for him to go into the castle (was it a castle? I don't know what to call it). Voting for MP to go in came right before BF all of a sudden voted for MP. So, I'm leaning with MP in thinking BF is under the hex.

I'm going to spend some time re-reading specific people and see if I can gain any insights.

2d6 meand two six sided dice are rolled

1d10+1 means one ten sided die is rolled and one added to the score

I also have no idea if the weapon choices mean anything. Would have gone with halberd for being the most obscure, but If it's worthless within 6 feet then a spear is the next closest thing.

I think it's amusing that we have been posting our reasons for picking certain weapons even though we really don't have any reasons
