Belgium was my Croatia. I’d love Croatia to win but I can’t hate on the French side, they have looked wonderful the whole way.

Whoever comes third, it’s a first for that team. Croatia will also make history either way. France have finished in both positions. Both Belgium and England have finished fourth.

If Croatia wins, they will leapfrog Spain in the overall World Cup results table. If England also came fourth, they’d also pass England due to their third place finish in 1998. They are also only the 13th country to make a World Cup final, every World Cup finalist without a title is European (Sweden, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Netherlands)

I’ll probably try to just follow along with some of the leagues and see who I naturally end up rooting for, like I’ve done with Croatia here. I hope I can actually follow through with school and all.

There's loads of different leagues, some of them with radically different styles. Some are faster, some more physical, some completely crap tbf. It's not really linear, depends on what draws you in. That said, La Liga and the English Premiership tend to have the best games, with the Bundesliga and the Italian league following behind, after that there's like 10 different leagues with positive and negative things about them. I'll echo Liverpool as a fun club to follow, just because their manager has a really positive approach to the game and they're usually very entertaining.

When it comes to what I most easily invest emotion into, I might still be stuck at football > football.

Great game. Was thankful for pogba and mbappe, before that the result was feeling very unlucky. Croatia mostly had the better of that game, but if you subtract the own goal, the 50/50 handball and the mistake Lloris only made because they were three up, France still win 2-1, so ultimately everything felt as it should be.

And yay I picked the golden glove!
