i also think we have very good reasons for choosing our weapons with some care, i'm not sure if anyone else has noticed but our choices seem to have a major effect on the what happens part of the game, and while it is true that it's all speculation on our part, that doesn't mean it should be "funny"....
that said i think Finko just went *ping*, not a big one, but def gets the eye.

Night 4: The Fight Against the Ilkort Invasion
The pack of Ilkort warriors swarmed down from the mountainside and began its assault against Avion.
They who had come so far from the south armed themselves with their weapons of choice. A few felt they might do best with their bare hands. The time for preparation was over; the time for war had begun.
AllAlongtheBoardwalk defended himself well, but a bevy of the Ilkort surrounded him. Just as he was about to be hacked to pieces, he vanished. A number of the nearby lizard-men fell from injuries that seemed to be caused by nothing.
The warriors fought throughout the night against the waxing multitude, an unrefined army whose martial skill was visibly lacking. When enough of their number had painted the rocky ground red, the remaining attackers turned back to the caverns from which they came. Battalions of airborne Avionians flew after the routed enemy, bombing them from above.
When the battle was over, the party realized that only one of their number had been killed. They only knew this because they found the tunic he had been wearing shredded to pieces, with bits of flesh and muscle matted in with it. And they found another detached red arm.
“He wasn’t killed by the Ilkort, that’s for sure,” an Avionian defender said.
Russtifinko has been killed by The Horde.
There were four missing PMs.

Night 4: The Staff of the People’s Voice
Breakfast followed battle. The Council of Avion met, and then summoned the warriors who had thrown themselves into their service. They stood in a great hall before the assembly of the city’s leaders.
The head of the council rose. “We the people of Avion are eternally grateful for your service. If there is anything we can do to show our appreciation, you need only name it.”
At this, an uproarious clamor began among the gathered party. They pointed fingers, raised accusations, and expressed suspicions. In all the commotion, the council gathered no understanding of their saviors’ plight, but rather gained insight of a different- and more obvious- sort.
“Be at peace!” the head of the council called. A hush covered the room, followed by a brief bit of murmuring among the council itself. One of the councilmen hurriedly left the room. Finally, the head spoke again. “It would seem that you are a contentious bunch, able to agree on little, and that your united decisions even then remain thwarted by some unseen disturbances.”
The young man who had left returned with a white staff.
“Behold, the Staff of the People’s Voice,” the head of the council said. “Ah, I have not looked upon it in many years. Ages ago, our people quarreled over everything, and even when we seemed to be in agreement, some with secret purposes of their own would frustrate our efforts.
“The Staff of the People’s Voice was a gift from Zodac long ago. During one of his rare visits to Avion, he presented us with the staff, telling us our inefficient quarreling was disrupting the balance of the universe.” The head of the council chuckled. “We were probably just disturbing his sleep. But with the help of this very staff, we were able to see our decisions through. The only time I can recall that the staff was ineffective was when Zodac himself intervened. Although that is a story for another time.
“And because blindfaeth, the slayer of Ilkorts and champion of Avion, dispatched the greatest number of our foe, we have chosen you to bear the staff. Use it wisely; it is aged, and I know not the amount of power that remains with it. May it provide you resolve and insight as you journey forth from here.”
When they had eaten again, slept a little, and were refreshed, the party moved east.
It is now Day 5. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

RIPIYWG Russ. Like others, I definitely was thinking you were, despite questioning you at the end there.
I've been reading civvie on BF all game, so that survival is very likely a good thing! Awesome that you won the staff as well. Wonder what it does exactly.
And definitely glad DH is back. Damn, man, I'm very much looking forward to what you have to bring to the table!
So I know people have been speculation a lynch switch with BWT and that makes total sense to me. This has happened twice now though, how is that possible? I've been trying to think about it and make a conclusion regarding it. timmer's unanimous lynch came up with Rox, which llama speculated would likely be the work of Zodac, and I agree(d) with that. Now with BWT's near unanimous lynch coming up with BF (who survived, which I think is good), is this because The Horde had a lynch switch? Seems most likely to me.
But here's the weird thing. timmer doesn't even say a single word about BWT. Doesn't vote for BWT. He is the sole voter for BF, which is the only non-DH vote that wasn't for BWT. So then, that makes me wonder, does that mean timmer is still Zodac? Or can he actually be on one of the baddie teams which just so happened to already have a lynch switch, especially The Horde? Or am I just being paranoid? llama or LT, does either of you have confidence that timmer is Zodac?
And do we lynch BWT again today or what? I still think he's bad, and after the fact that it was switched, that only solidifies my viewpoint.

Thanks, timmer, that does help. I think. Though I must ask what you think about BWT?
Only now I don't know what the hell is going on here. If Timmer is one of the two indies (Zodac the cosmic enforcer or The Sorceress), that could very well mean he has some sort of info about BF. Does this mean that perhaps the lynch on Day 1 was The Horde (BF) vs. Snake Mountain (Boomslang)? That would give a very different perspective to the way things have gone down since then that I didn't really consider.
Then again, timmer could be on The Horde or even Snake Mountain I guess but I doubt Snake Mountain. How similar or not so much were the two lynch switches? I don't remember the post before telling us that timmer evaded lynch, but this one about BWT did. I actually went ahead and tried to look back just now quickly and didn't find anything that was similar to BWT's lynch switch either. Also, the way the host post talked about timmer being "unconcerned" and that particular excerpt contrasts with the fact that we see nothing from that about BWT.
So it must be asked, unless someone already asked it and I missed it. Robert, are your posts purely for storytelling purposes or are there perhaps any hints as to roles in them in any way whatsoever?
Also, something I didn;'t think about in my previous post -- it's much more possible The Horde or even Snake Mountain could have built up a lynch switch from treasure/technology by now than when Timmer was lynched. Timmer's lynch was all the way back on Day 2, which would have given them one night only.
All of that to say I'm still tempted to think Timmer is Zodac and BWT is on The Horde. But with timmer gunning so hard against BF, I don't know. Was it that the BWT lynch was a distractor? I'm perhaps overanalyzing but I feel like something weird behind the scenes is really going on here. I was reading BF as civvie because of his overdefensiveness and more so because the way the lynch went down (and his behavior thereafter), but I'm considering the possibility I could be wrong. What do other people think?
I need to go study for a while, so I'll let all of these thoughts sit on the back burner.

Also, MP has given me a headache. I'm so twisted up around whether one person or team could have two lynch switches, why no lynch switches are listed in the roles (at least that I saw), can timmer be a benevolent indy and be wrong about bf, etc. I'm going for a jog and see if exercise promotes some insight into this situation.

The narrative in this event is intended to be a marriage of the Masters of the Universe mythology and the data (read: outcomes) produced by the players performing their roles as they were established from the beginning.
One would therefore be mistaken in thinking that the narrative is purely ornamental, but one would be equally mistaken in thinking that I am "giving role hints."

I'm glad others feel the same way about BWT. I doubt he'd be able to get out of two lynches in a row like that, too, but I'm trying to make sure I analyze everything.

Maybe we are confused about the lynch switches because they aren't lynch switches at all. The roles in this game are not vanilla roles - so many abilities, so many secrets. Look at the lynchings, or lack of lynchings, as independent variables. BWT was almost lynched, but was saved. Someone tried to kill BF but wasn't successful. This doesn't mean these two assaults are connected.
I say we try to lynch BWT again. I definitely think he is baddie.

No. And yet he hasn't been replaced as the others have been. Maybe he's quietly sending in his PMs and just deliberately not posting to stay under the radar.
Well, I tend to believe that if he were on a baddie team, they would be pushing for epig to find a replacement. However, depending on the host, sometimes they will allow you to send your teammates night action in because you have btsc. Beyond that all you can really do is visit their member page and see when was the last time they logged in.

Have we heard from reywaS yet? I know he was going to be out of town but I wanted to see his thoughts after he was (assumedly) silenced for the previous day, especially since he had a lot to say the period before that.
Linki with BF: I think it's near impossible to tell if Ishar is a baddie for that reason. I guess it would depend on if teammates have been able to send in his night action, if he is bad.

Also, you remit confidence here with regard to He-Man being on Horde. Why, could you elaborate?
He was quick to ally himself with reywaS when accusing me of being Horde, he was quick to follow your compelled vote for DH and his positions have been all over the map. He hasn't played consistently and I don't trust him. Why Horde as opposed to Snake Mountain? Call it a hunch.
I still want to get rid of BWT today, though. In fact, I'll be the one to start the bidding.
