His request certainly makes sense in a Ted really thinks Wilgy is a good chance at being the mothership kind of way. It's a last try for him that does have potential upside for us. It may be other mechanics that are not mafia redirects. We don't know everything about this game. Nutella literally did a self sacrifice, got Jack resurrected, on the night Martin was supposed to jail her and I was supposed to protect her from all harm.

I disagree. Chopping a town gets us further from our wincon. Chopping 3p/possible mafia/possible harmful 3p does not get us further from our wincon. I think you make things more complicated than they are, the double redirect is not really needed.
