It might help for searching the thread to check vote patterns. It just might be good to come up with a way to do that.

The hedging language here (might, just might) tells me he isn't really invested in his own idea. If TonyStarkPrime were serious about finding a useful way to track votes in the thread, he wouldn't suggest one idea, get thwarted by Eloh, and then just say "It just might be good to come up with a way to do that." He is talking about how to track something that doesn't matter, since even when votes can be changed, it isn't like we can see who voted for whom when.

Ooh. Forgot about how the polls worked. (In case my language gets misconstrued again, forgot here means "I neglected to consider") Back on my home site we do the whole "vote in bold in-post" thing, so I typically play with a pretty trackable record and that influences how I play. Even here it would be easier to check in on the thread, look at votes, and have an idea where we stand, and if I recall correctly from Mass Effect, we would mark votes with orange so we would have that record. I assume that is more or less a standard thing.

I don't quite understand the whole hedging thing. I had an idea, someone said "I don't like that idea" and then I said "well maybe there is another way". Which to me would suggest that I'm still invested in the general idea. The word "might" is more of a "I'm not going to force an idea through if people don't want it" than a "well, I don't really care about what I'm saying".

I actually like this response to Epi. I think if someone grasps onto this "reason" for why Tony may be mafia, they should be looked at more closely as maybe being mafia themselves.
@jack - do you really believe epi believes his theory or donyou think he made it up to see who would latch onto it? I'm thinking the latter.

Read thread. Take notes on who voted for whom or who suggested voting for whom at what time. Read over notes before voting.

My strategy for dealing with Epi is primarily to poke him with a stick until one of us dies or we both win. I haven't figured out his alignment using this strategy but I still tend to win and haven't come up with any better ideas.

I'm not really one for pretending to think things when I'm good so, have a drink.

But seriously. What's your town strategy? What's the best way to read you. I haven't figured it out.

Strategically, if I am town and there are four other players (1 scum) and I know how to read three of them but it's early, lynching the one I can't read is best strategy. (Applies to inactives, too.) Yeah, it's my weakness but I'm owning it and giving you the chance to get around it.

Are you declining because you do things I think look bad or because you're really bad?

In all honesty, I enjoy being mafia more. I find it more engaging to deceive than to investigate. So, if I look like I'm having a large amount of fun from a game, I'm most likely not a run-of-the-mill civilian.

I'm not good at it either. I'm really bad at D1 because I feel like everyone should get a chance to play the game.

On the upside, even a random lynch in this game has over 1/3 chance of hitting non-town. If the 3P is non-town.

I may be being picky in this but I have to vote and it has to go on someone. I don't like the whole smiley chart that chuck laid out for us. Above you see his explanation to Lorab about her specific smiley. But why not just say that in the post. It's day 1. Why not get real. Day 0 is behind us and we are supposed to get a little more serious now. If he were civ, I think he would have given a small description as well so we knew exactly how he felt. Instead he remained vague with smiles. Sorry chuck, but at this moment, I think there is a better possibility of you being bad this game than any other player. I must vote. And you're it.

Do you see the inconsistency here? I mean, I obviously disagree with your vote, and your reasoning, but even in your very post, you say numerous times:
"I have to be picky and vote even though there's not much to go on. I gotta pick somebody."
And then you say "Why not get serious?"

That's why I'm not getting all that serious. For the same reason that you keep excusing yourself.

And I'm not sure what the scum motive would be to post a smiley list. Vague-ness is something I'm more prone to do as town anyway.

And yeah... I did click on the view results button. I did that in Pokemon too and only had to refresh the page to be able to vote.

And chuck, I am getting serious. I think if your still playing around near the end of day 1, it may be some kind of defence mwchanism to get people to look the other way.
