Just noting that speed voted for the four of the top 5 vote getters not named golden.
It's entirely possible I'm being paranoid and egoistic but I don't think it's insane to think the mafia don't want me to be a captain.

Read rules, changed votes.
It's kinda important that we have some good scumhunters as captains, based on what happens when missions are completed. I let that influence my votes a little bit.

It takes both an offer and an acceptance for someone to become part of a ship’s Crew. Speedchuck could be the belle of the ball and get an offer from every captain. It’s up to him which he accepts.
Likewise every player in the game can ask for a job on your ship but only the ones you give official offers to can actually get a job on your crew.
The only way another captain can get in the way of the crew members you want is if that player would rather be on the other captain’s ship.
Once an official job offer has been both made and accepted, the player can’t be fired or quit to go to another crew until the next day phase.

It may change later, but for now I'm voting Glorf because he's so trustworthy that his status will never be in doubt, Wilgy because a crazy and unorthodox captain sounds fun, me so that someone will have voted me, and Marmot because I have a spare vote.

Oh a d0 that actually has something to do. nova has proven to me that he can be King of the Jungle, so he has a good shot at becoming King of the Sea. DDL knows all about dat pirate life, he's been stealing my hosting style for years! Laiden in gold is where I hope my captain will lead me, so Golden sounds like a fitting choice. There must always be that hardass, battle commander of the sea though, that Stannis the Mannis, I'd gladly give up my finger bones to sail with Epignosis!

Epi's case on DDL is a solid case, or, as solid as I've seen on D1. "People caring how other people see them" is one of those "tells" that people say is scummy... but it actually isn't. The correlation is not strong. DDL preyin' on that.
