I would point out that just because you disagree that a 16-way tie would be benfecial (I think it would be) does not make me a baddie.

Consider this: the longer the game goes on, the more information we have and the more likely we are to discover baddies. This early we are just guessing, and odds are we are guess ing wrong.So, if we consolidate the votes, odds are we will leave a civ with little life and all the baddies with full life. By the time we discover who they really are, they have have too many lives left for us to do anything about it.

If, on the other hand, he wear EVERYBODY's lives down early, when we have more information and determine who the baddies are, it will be easy to kill them.

Game theory suggests this would be implausible because it would benefit everyone to not participate over participating.

I can't stand this indecision married with a lack of vision.

A flaw, llama - all of the baddies have some way to do extra damage. It doesn't matter that there are more civ lives than baddie, because we would be distributing our damage around and they would not. If I were a baddie, I would be *cheering* for your plan. Though not out loud, since it would eventually become fairly obvious how rough it would be on the civs.

How would it benefit each individual to consolidate the vote than to spread it out? How would I as an individual have been benefited by voting for Devin, who had votes, than INH who had none?

I am very happy with how this day has gone. The way Nev and Rob (and possibly BWT) disagreed with me makes me feel much better about them. The way Elohcin, Mongoose and INH disagreed with me makes me feel much worse about them. I think a lot of information has been gained here.

Sorry everyone! I was at a family event and thought the poll ended at 19 instead of 13. I went to log on at quarter after on my phone and it was already over. Oh well.

I was leaning toward voting for llama, but I'm not 100% sure if I would have.

So wait. Did you throw out that idea of yours to gauge reactions then? Was that the main purpose behind it or do you actually believe spreading the votes out that much would be better?

I initially floated it as an idea because I thought it made logical sense in the early stages of the game. I still think it makes some sense, although I am not 100% committed to it. Others pointed out some very sensible flaws (particularly Nev.)

However, I was also happy to see people's reactions and I thought some people were a little too eager to use it as a rationalization for voting for me.

One other note on this:

If your life count is affected in a way other than by losing lives due to votes cast against you, I do alert you of this fact. If you lose lives due to votes, then I do not update you on your life count.

Good point! Since there are more civvies than baddies, can we assume that o aggregate there are more civvie "lives" than baddie "lives?" If we can make that assumption, shouldn't we spread out the vote as much as possible each lynch, so that the baddies will die off by attrition?

I'd argue that baddies are likely to have been given more lives by our host in order to keep things "interesting" for longer. By this logic, if everyone received one vote a night, civvies would die out first.

I'm glad to see that no one died!!! I honestly don't think llama is a baddie... At least I'm not getting those vibes from him yet, anyway. But for now I won't be voting for him. I am intrigued by the information that Llama was able to gain from his suggestion, though.
