well, I'm out for the night. But watch SVS turn out bad and then everyone looks at me next. That would be just my luck. The ONE time I defend her.
Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...

You're mistaken. Both as it was happening as well as now I've been open to the possibility that it was a joke, and that it was a serious vote. I made that clear.Elohcin wrote:What concerned me most about Zebra was her going after SVS's joke of a vote.Yet she claims later she got that it was a joke.a2thezebra wrote:
You imply that voting for no reason just goes against the grain, yet you seem to have voted for no reason.

You still don't get what I'm criticizing. I know what irony is.S~V~S wrote:It was not a specifically a contradiction, it was a joke. The point of humor is often the contradictory nature of what is funny vs. what is reality. It was funny BECAUSE it was contradictory.
I hate RVS, and you think it is OK, so *I* voted that way for you in a total reversal of expectation. You were not amused.
That is why it was funny.

Read my list of the contradictions that I was bothered with. None of them are criticizing the nature of the joke itself.

If S~V~S turns out bad, I'm going to look way worse then you. I'm the one that's been voicing suspicion of her without voting for her. :PElohcin wrote:well, I'm out for the night. No you are missing *my* point. A one line joke does not deserve that list you made. You were annoyed that I voted for you, and you are blustering up about how bad I am and how contradictory I am to cover that up.a2thezebra wrote:You still don't get what I'm criticizing. Everyone else is seeing this for what it is except LC, and I could come in to any thread and say "Look! Blue Sky!" and he will think I am being manipulative or whatever,he never trusts me, I have come to expect it.
Eloh is NOT suspicious for (correctly) sticking up for me. Step away from the molehill and learn to take a joke.

I'm not missing your point, you're missing mine. It's pretty obvious that you haven't been reading my posts if you think that the list I made is referring to the joke. Not one of the contradictions in that list would have come from that joke by itself, they came from our back-and-forth. I've made clear multiple times both in our initial back-and-forth and recently that the contradictions I take issue with are not the joke in and of itself.S~V~S wrote:No you are missing *my* point. It's also pretty obvious that you haven't been reading my posts when you say that I've been blustering up about how bad you are. I don't even feel the need to elaborate on that because anyone that has been reading my posts knows that I've made it clear that I don't read you as bad, end of story. You want to insist that I was annoyed that you voted for me when I know that it wasn't, which is no better (in fact, it's worse) than me insisting that you and Elohcin have been contradicting yourselves recently when you both claim that you haven't been. It doesn't need to be a big deal. When I'm annoyed, I don't try to hide being annoyed, and I wasn't annoyed. This is infinitely more annoying than your vote for me because this is another example of our routine that has inspired me to go off on tangents before. I'm too chill to allow that to anger me this time, even if you're not.
More misrepresentation regarding the Eloh bit, what else is new? I never said that she was suspicious for sticking up for you, I think she's suspicious because her thought process doesn't feel natural to me.

Re: Rocky and Bullwinkle - The Legend of Frostbite Falls [Da
Interesting back & forth between Zebra & SVS. I actually didn't find SVS's reaction to the poking to be terribly OTT. I would almost expect a civ SVS to be more OTT in her reaction. However, we can all become more zen in our lives, and I don't think that's a bad thing. I could also see this back & forth between Zebra & SVS as distancing. At this point, this early in the game, I feel like it's just a bit too soon to have a solid read on what it means, if anything.
It also sounds like it's somewhat a regular thing, and I know those old habits are hard to break, and sometimes are just like blanks - explosions that sound like something but don't accomplish much (as far as revealing alignments, etc.) .
I haven't ever played a game with changeable votes though, so I personally took away something useful from at least some of the back & forth. It's helped me understand why changeable votes might be a thing, and I do think it's possible they could spark some actual conversation. I'm not 100% clear on how baddies would use them to manipulate the thread/lynches, but maybe that will become more clear to me as game play continues. That being said, they make me uncomfortable since I've never done them before, so I'll just be over here shaking my cane with bea.
And, as always, I just don't dig Day 1 lynches. I'm not usually one to vote for non-participants, plus according to the rules if someone doesn't show up & post they can't use their night power anyway, so non-participants can't really do much harm, ya know? But it's not like I have a great reason to vote anyone right now. Who does? It's Day 1.

Just a post placeholder to tell you all that I haven't read this thread since my last post, but will do so as soon as I can before the deadline. Likely won't be until morning after I wake up though, since I have at least a few more hours of working on PhD stuff for the evening.

Epignosis mafia, but his puns are tearable.

I don't know if I'll have time to log on in the AM before the poll closes, so I'm going to go ahead and vote for that punny, punny post. If I have time to log on and read, and something actually catches my eye, I'll change it accordingly.

The thing with svs and zeebs read a lot like day 1 of the other game, so I'm not finding it particularly odd.
I random ed and got sloonie.
Sorry. Nothing really outstanding has happened. It's day 1 and I have exactly 6 hours to sleep before my next 16 hour work day.

These are not my puns, but this put a smile on my face walking out the door to work.
I have no one I suspect strongly enough to vote for at this time, only people I have a fairly good feel for, and *everyone else*. So I might leavemy vote where it is unless I start to take votes.

But OK. Zeebs
Do I suspect anyone else, you mean? Not yet, no. Why does this concern you? Do you not see her words as contradictory to her actions? I haven't voted for her yet because I'm not sure it's alignment-indicative (for her) but I don't see how you can agree with contradictions.Elohcin wrote:I also agree with this.

Zebra, you are coming out at SVS pretty hard for this RSV issue. This is the first thing to register on my "concern" radar. Anyone else?
linki: WHats OMGUS?
OMGUS is "Oh My God You Suck" it's when someone votes for someone just because they voted for them. So my accusation of that towards Sloonei is a joke.
The above highlighted section caught my eye. There is 19 minutes between the two posts and svs made no post in that time. So zebra, what made you go from "not sure it's alignment indicative" to its a "definite civ tell?"a2thezebra wrote:I agree, her overreactions were a definite civ tell. The move gets Zebra out of the jam of having to vote for me. At this stage, I'm forced to vote for bwt even though I don't suspect him, hoping he doesn't show, because if I don't, I'm toast. I find Elohcin's vote (above) uninspiring, and her interactions with Zebra seemed a little dismissive, so I'll vote for her. Adding a decisive vote to a bandwagon on a player who hasn't even posted is not my favorite thing.
I got it in my head that days would be 48 hours. I think that was Spirited Away's fault.

I'm here and ready to vote and just for the hell of it I'm going to make this a three way. I'll be voting for indiglo. I'd rather vote for Zebra at this point, but I want to make it a three way tie so I won't. I should have more activity tomorrow unless someone night kills me then I won't have more activity.
linki: Ignore what I just said entirely I changed my mind, I don't like this last minute save of Epi, and the fact everyone is voting for a player who hasn't even made a post yet. I don't like this at all. I'll be voting for Epi. However, I'll be willing to switch to someone else I just very much disagree with voting for a player who hasn't even posted yet or apparently logged on.

Scratch that, I'm voting for Scotty. He's been around the thread, but has kind of just been lurking in the background of things, not really being an active part of any discussion, and his tone is very light.

Look at the roles. If I am bad, how many people are on my team?sig wrote:I'm here and ready to vote and just for the hell of it I'm going to make this a three way. I'll be voting for indiglo. To be more specific, how many people on my team would know I was on their team to save me?Epignosis wrote:Look at the roles. I put my vote on zebra. See my previous post on her, I think she was trying to get something going on svs but backed off when no one was going for it. Then she turned to eloh.

It's Day 1, what do you want from me? This seems like a strange defense.Scotty wrote:Sloonei wrote:Scratch that, I'm voting for Scotty. Furthermore, sig is suggesting that a dead, active player is less valuable than a player who hasn't visited the site since the 16th, and may not ever show.
Do you know who likes dead active players? Mafia.
I'm like yeast man. Active, fast-acting, and on the rise to being cooked.

Awww thank you Epi.Epignosis wrote:
sig is now #1.

The last minute vote drive onto BWT is suspicious, he hasn't even seen his role PM yet four people are voting for him? Including Elohcin to save you even though she could have voted for someone else. This is suspicious.
I'm also looking at Sloonie. So my day 1 mafia team prediction is. Epi, Elohcin, and Sloonie.

linki: That sounds like a policy lynch?
