I gave a much more in depth explanation that explained a part of my strategy for having my vote where it is right now. The other part is that I wanted to put pressure on other people while there was still time left in the day.

How do you feel about the people who have been calling it suspicious?
I haven't figured out who they all are yet (no time to read up), but I feel better about someone like SVS who points out your odd shift about gleam back and forth, which I think is a reasonable suspicion of you, and worse about anyone who jumps to 'its a save'.
Further to this, having now read more fully back up to this point I think Scotty came out of this looking good. His theory that you were saving me strikes me as someone who is trying to get a genuine read on the game, even though I'm not a cop.

I don't like it either.

I'm torn between the scumhunter side of me who wants to pressure them for that and the ambassador side who wants shield them from community bullying.

This kind of relates to the point I made early about how the two acting like they are a single organism instead of two separate players rubs people the wrong way. Nobody knows how to deal with that, myself included.

Matt's town meta is to tunnel on an idea, no matter how fruitless it is. But recently, he's become aware of this, to the point that he did it deliberately to success (ie, being alive and winning his team the game) in the Game of Champions. Macdougall pointed out, in Arkham, that he had used this strategy and now saw this perception of him as something he could use.

Matt's tunneling on me is even more extreme than I am used to from civ Matt. Even tunnelly Matt usually engages in rational discussion. The sense I got from Matt is that he was specifically fishing for others to meta-defend him.

Sloonei, why is it that you said you'd be voting for either Epi or ika, yet your vote is still on SVS who, from what I can tell, hasn't been on your list for quite some time? I know you said something about not wanting to influence the votes one way or another, but wouldn't you naturally want people to side with you in a lynch against the person you find most suspicious?

I'll check this thread one more time before I leave for uni, that'll likely be around when day ends because I've got to do a fair bit. I am eagerly awaiting Matt's ISO, but I doubt I'll be here when he releases it.

Do you think it is not a fair point, to point out that all 5 of the voters of ika are also new here?

I think it is rough, to call it a knock on the Syndicate. Especially since I'm pretty sure ika is ultimately not going to get lynched for it. He seems to have quite a few defenders.

I do not think anyone is sincerely voting either of you simply because your playstles are unfamiliar, and that sort of thing certainly is not a reflection of this community in any way. I haven't been here all that long, but the people here are pretty dedicated to ensuring that everyone has a chance to enjoy every game as much as possible.
But also, like I've said earlier, the two of you have combined to be a very noticeable pairing in thos game, and so it's only natural that you've been the topic(s) of a lot of conversation. Not everyone suspectd ika, and very few people seem to suspect you. We just needed to discuss things to make sense of them.

It's over the top, he is making no effort to try and use rational thought in relation to it (compare to his case on Mac in TH, for example, where he actually engaged with the rational arguments against it, even if he didn't agree with them - here he is criticising the idea that any further defence is even relevant) - he has taken it to quite an extreme level, that I just do not buy at all.

I understand suspecting people for legitimate reasons but suspecting myself or ika because we play different or are defending each other from playstyle type lynches is not all that enticing for me to want to continue here.
Do you think it is not a fair point, to point out that all 5 of the voters of ika are also new here?

I think it is rough, to call it a knock on the Syndicate. Especially since I'm pretty sure ika is ultimately not going to get lynched for it. He seems to have quite a few defenders.
Fair enough, I don't mean to knock the Syndicate overall and I'm not trying to say that ika or myself should not be suspected or questioned or voted for legitimate reasons. I do feel like the reason people are suspecting us-and particularly ika, is because of a different playstyle, and like I said, this is very discouraging.

And let me just say this now. I'd never, ever use something like this to manipulate as scum. I do have strong feeling against emotionally manipulating people as scum, since I had a friend do it to me a long time ago. It's just not something I believe in. Me getting emotionally is definitely not an alignment tell either way.

Hey all, I just want to remind you that we have a Mod on Duty function, and that it doesn't get utilized often enough. I know a decent number of you are new or relatively new to this site, so I'd like to emphasize this it is a unique function here designed specifically so that you can resolve personal conflicts and vent frustrations:

10. The Mod on Duty for this game is nijuukyugou. She is there for any of your questions or concerns not strictly related to game or role mechanics. Please PM her with any grievances or concerns you may have at any time, notably including conflicts with other players. Keep the thread fun and clean of emotionally-charged drama or conflicts; PM nijuukyugou instead. We want to keep this game as fun as possible for everyone.

If you have questions regarding any of this, also feel free to PM me or Daisy too and we'd be more than happy to assist. We know mafia is inevitably tense, but we want to keep everyone enjoying this game. If you feel frustrated with someone, multiple people, or just the general mood of the thread, then we want to help resolve it, and keep it from adversely affecting the game. So spam nijuu's inbox for all we care. That's what she's there for!

Thanks!

the seconde one was at luffy.

trust me, there doesn go a moment where we have at least some parnaoia about each other. if we live for too long it does kinda make it odd. but this is also common for sucms to discredit our town reading.

like i have had a game where i was a cop and i was light town reading her but didnt trust her and was going to check her n1, she know nothing about it. so we may start wrong but in the end we always get it right

Quin wrote:Sloonei, why is it that you said you'd be voting for either Epi or ika, yet your vote is still on SVS who, from what I can tell, hasn't been on your list for quite some time? I know you said something about not wanting to influence the votes one way or another, but wouldn't you naturally want people to side with you in a lynch against the person you find most suspicious?

I'll check this thread one more time before I leave for uni, that'll likely be around when day ends because I've got to do a fair bit. I am eagerly awaiting Matt's ISO, but I doubt I'll be here when he releases it.
I haven't had a preference between Epi and ika this whole time. Putting a vote on one of them before I'm sure will influence the way others vote in the poll, and I don't really want to do that. Yet. I am starting to feel more inclined to vote for Epi, and if I reach a point where I'm confident enough to do that, I will do it.

My vote's still on SVS because that's where it was last, but also I'm still waiting for her to respond to my now ancient questions.

I love you!

And FTR, silver would never do this as scum. Like i cant empathize it enough

pedit: i think thats besides the point golden. shes more upset that the sinlge person she knows (me) and is basicly her only support in the game will eb gone. yes there are other people giving some cut for it and stuff but its more then jsut pure defending

pedit2: i know it doesnt, and when we do roll scum against each other we can sense it form us. call it empathy or intuition or guts or whatever, but we have alawys had 100% accracy on reading each other in every game. If we suspect each ohter at any point we will drop jsut about everythign and try to get them lynched
I believe the both of you. I think you both look good in my book.

I realise you are the only person she knows right now, but I really hope it doesn't stay true, because I think both of you would fit in well here and are the kind of people we need more of.

And I'm also saying - I really believe she will not lose her support today. I mean, I may not be all that persuasive, but I'll be at least one voice in your corner, and if nothing else I'm a bloody loud and obnoxious voice.

Where I come from, all this stuff gets thrown in the thread, along with a lot of swearing, fighting, etc. While it sounds harsh, it does help with reading other players.

I'm of two minds with this.

On the one hand, I want to thank you.

On the other, I want to scumread you as this looks a lot like a combination of buddying and mediation that I've seen scum do before when town is fighting with other town.

So yeah, this kind of pings a bit to me.
