You know how you get all confident in a case and everyone says that's convincing and they try to defend themselves and you just go "shut up. Why you so bad?" After that you don't have to say "It's his own fault for not being a better townie."

Now that that's over...

I proposed that we lynched a non-poster since anyone who could actually post couldn't properly defend themselves.

I also didn't understand the case on sig, before or after players were smitten with a variety of curses.

So I voted for Marmot. :)

That actually still stands. This post came after an iso of Nova. I noticed they hadn't taken a lot of stances or given a lot of reads over the course of the game. I didn't even realize they didn't post anything during day 2.

Also "novaselineon" wasn't a very creative name in retrospect. I kinda phoned that one in.

I haven't been getting in the way of myself, this if how I help. I know a couple things about myself as a civ in a big game:

1) I am no good at keeping up in big games (jobs)
Why did I sign up, you ask? As a favor to my sweet husband who put so much time into the game and wanted it to get started.
2) Early in a big game, I cannot speak freely of my thoughts of a player without sounding wishy-washy because I will go back and forth on everyone. This will get me lynched and then all the civs are like, "man, we mis-lynched her again?!"

I know me. And I know that as a civ in a big game, I need to stay out of the way and go along for the ride until we are down to about 12 players. THAT is how I help my civ team. Once we get down to a manageable number for my brain to keep organized, I can come out guns blazing on the baddies. If we get there, and I am not contributing, you can lynch me. Fair enough?

Eloh became a new ping for me. The recent vocaroo game was a virtual hellscape for participation. There were fewer posts obviously but many of the posts took up to 5 minutes to read. It presented a challenge for participation that put a lot of people in a position of lagging behind, some days I had to sit listening to other players speak for 2 or 3 hours before I could post anything relevant. Eloh maintained a position of being one of the most active players in that game despite all that and had frequently Meanwhile in this game, which has honestly a pretty standard length mafia game other than the the 16 page long day 0 and the dumpster fire that we all just experienced.
I can listen and do other things at the same time. I cannot read and do other things at the same time.

Who is bad with Wilgy?

What do you think of Tony and Dunya at this point?

I thought the Sig case was convincing but he wasn't my first choice and I can see the points against Dunya for making that case at that time given how it turned out, esp pushing votes away from Wilgy and Tony.

Probably should have stuck to my guns on Wilgy but didn't want Tony lynched over Sig for voting Glor. I like my vote to matter. Tony doesn't really know Glor so that's a weak sauce way to go out. If Tony is town, all complaints about a Sig train being too easy and taking advantage of how hard it is to defend yourself with certain curses apply double to Tony's situation. (Of course, we now know Sig was town and still do not know about Tony.)

Were you able to understand my answer on Tony's meta for handling me just fine? He tends to be pretty slow about it. Lots of people sail the "never trust Jack" boat on the realms and lots of people man the USS "something undefined about Jack's posts bother me and make me suspicious of him" or a schooner called "latch onto a specific phrase Jack used" but Tony is a landlubber. He knows I can be helpful and tends to let me prove or hang myself as the game goes on while attempting to gain my trust regardless of his alignment. Both tend to be a slow burn.

Tldr: Tony's attitude towards me is appreciated, expected and probably NAI.

See my prior post for a GTH guess.

I have some gripes with Tony. Those gripes feel uninspired. He doesn't know Glorfindel like many of us do and it's understandable that he wouldn't be enthusiastic about handing him the key to the city without any background on him. All else aside he did work hard to make the best of his curse.

I think she looked civilian when jumped into the thread and rapped her heart out. There are easier ways to get a mislynch in a widely-spread tally like the one we had pre-sig case. I think it's more likely that she pushed that case because she believed in it than because she had some kind of nefarious objective to take advantage of an opportunity. That smells like tinfoil to me, and not the sort that tends to amount to something.

Calling dunya mafia is most easily accomplished by gluing her to one of the other lynch candidates of the day, like Wilgy. That's a weak premise, IMO.

As a scummer, she draws lots of attention (when she could be "catching up" and blend some with the large null/inactive pool esp with a curse) when there was a decent chance of a mislynch anyway between all the curses and the spread.

That feels correct.

Well why didn't you?
Yessss!!!!! Exactly. It was so hard to express questions. it was even harder to explain the directions of actions. It also sucks that every single pokemon narrator quote has an exclamation point at the end of it. made it hard to express the correct tone sometimes.
Try posting in only Kansas lyrics. I never realized how non-specific their lyrics are. :evileye: @Epignosis next time, make me post in Ayreon lyrics.
Maybe shorter lines?

Hold on baby hold on.
Carry on.
Same old song.

Tony's call for a full scum team guess can be a productive step forward in the continuing dialogue if numerous players take him up on it.

Icarus Born On Wings Of Steel is a great song but yeah, not a damn useful thing to use in a mafia game.

Who is bad with Wilgy?

What do you think of Tony and Dunya at this point?
See my prior post for a GTH guess.

I have some gripes with Tony. Those gripes feel uninspired. He doesn't know Glorfindel like many of us do and it's understandable that he wouldn't be enthusiastic about handing him the key to the city without any background on him. All else aside he did work hard to make the best of his curse.

dunya thoughts to follow:
Jackofhearts2005 wrote: Thu Jan 18, 2018 10:58 amI thought the Sig case was convincing but he wasn't my first choice and I can see the points against Dunya for making that case at that time given how it turned out, esp pushing votes away from Wilgy and Tony.

On the one hand, she might would think that no one would blame her because of the curses. On the other hand, you're pretty much right here.
I now change my mind. Dunya being scum is contingent on Dr. Wilgy or whoever else was leading at that point in the game being scum. If this was a scum maneuver, it was a save.

Seen Kansas in concert and they put on a hell of a show. Was going to see them again but one of the band members got sick so instead I got an extra long performance from Jefferson Airplane Jefferson Starship Starship. :disappoint:

I saw them in 2012, during their collegiate symphony tour. Not quite the normal experience, small venue. I was seven rows back. It was amazing.

Iirc, Wilgy (Jack, Jimmy...Kyle?) and Tony had 3 votes each (Nova, Speed, Eloh). Quin and Sig we're on BWT.

Unless Tony and Wilgy are both bad, why start a third train? I guess so we ask that question but I don't think they're all three bad.

Gth baddie team, taken into account new discussion on Lap, Eloh, Dunya.

Wilgy
Lap
Simon
Bird (Rabbit now?)
Speed

That last call was painful. I gotta believe someone on the Mac train was bad but I like all of them individually as town. Speed came in 30 from EOD, questioned Kyle's posts about Mac, then voted or kept his vote on Mac anyway.

thanks! yeah sloonei is the reason why I'm here the first place, him & quin have always made the games more flavourful - favorite mafia players, was quite saddened of his abstinence actually. :pout:

speedchuck wrote: Wed Jan 17, 2018 10:34 pm The Sig lynch was bad.
Dunya is bad for starting it.

1. Sig is always wishy-washy
2. Waffley behavior is a textbook EZ suspicion to put on mislynches, when it can really go both ways. Town can be genuinely uncertain as easily as mafia can be nervous
3. Sig couldn't defend easily, and this is a mostly brand-new suspicion. That's the reason I'd rather have gone with a D1 case. Now we're back to square one.
4. Sig's lynch gained momentum too easily. If half the scumteam wasn't on it, I will eat a Kansas CD.

Dunya replaced in, and her first action was to go through the thread, pick the easiest mislynch possible, and drive it home while Sig couldn't defend himself and no better cases could be made. Screw that.
I don't recall voting for sig because he was wishy-washy. Dunya's case was the best thing I could make sense of in that thread, plus it even had an extra flavour of sig buddying me, which I'm most always partial to. I practically tied nutella for being the second voter, seemed like she was mere seconds ahead of me in both the vote and the vote-post. Don't know if that info is relevant to you, but that's how it happened.

I don't really like the fleshy tone in the middle. It disrupts the transition from yellow to orange when I wanna see it flow...

Someone give me better.
Let's name our theoretical baddie teams. Yours can be called 'Low-Hanging Fruit'.

Dom
Made
Marmot
nutella
Simon

It's better because Made made me suspicious before, nutella pings me when she comes after me while I'm being completely frank (acting like her suspicion arises because of how well she knows me, but if she really knew me blah blah), Simon because of his spring-to-action vote on someone I didn't see any particular reason for, with unsatisfying follow-up. And then Dom and Marmot for flavour.

My reasons are given the best I can without going back and re-reading the past-game stuff I discussed, so don't jump down my throat for any inaccuracies; instead gently correct me and I'll go from there.

I'd like people to weigh in on this post.

This implies Eloh is ready to go, excited to play and down to catch some scum....but then she never tries.

Did she get busy? Or is she faking?
Different definitions of 'trying', I would say.

So a GTH read compilation where we limit our number of mafia guesses to 5? Actually, it looks more in depth than that.

I'm in. I had a hard time understanding, putting in, or getting much out of Day 2. I think a refocusing is in order.

I go back and forth between invested and uninvested. I don't have the time I used to to pour into this game, and posting in nothing but quotes but from another game is time consuming.

Why do you call it atypical?

I'm suggesting that you were trying harder than usual. A striking portion of your posts displayed investment and not silliness. I expect more silliness. What gives?
