Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 2: Sig puts his John Hancock down
The fact that TH and Colin both claim related abilities after Epi and scotty have done the same, leads me to something approaching "TH is being at least partially honest"
It would be strange for TH to claim something entirely untrue, and uncommon (not a role I've seen before), only to have another character also has something similar going on.

I don’t dislike the roleclaim particularly. I really dislike that wincon. In a game where I know very little, my own power suggests what he’s saying is blatantly false and I have to ask myself why that might be.Golden wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 10:28 pm The fact that TH and Colin both claim related abilities after Epi and scotty have done the same, leads me to something approaching "TH is being at least partially honest"

Yeah, I agree with you - I think TH is telling us only part of the story. But I don't feel like distrusting him at the moment, and I'm happy to let the first part play out and see what happens next.

Is there any reason you are willing to hear him out and not, say, sig, who also made a strange claim?

So far in this game we have three doctors.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 10:22 pm OK, I will tell you about it.
I’m a vote predictor. I get an extra vote on days following a night poll where I successfully predict the winner.
So why would your wincon be something that I should reasonably be expected to do a few times over?
Nah. You’re not telling the truth.

Forget whether Quin actually got a message?Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 6:44 pm If it was one shot, then if I had done what he did IO would have made it damn clear that was the case, which he hasn't. Because he painted a big old target on himself with what he did otherwise. It seems reckless and possibly wasteful to me. That said, it depends on whether or not there is something to your text flavor point. And whether or not sig was actually bad. Because if sig is bad, then Quin is not. And neither is INH. This is assuming the message is true.
@Golden You should know by now that you can trust me. I was trying to prove myself, and I would hope you were watching well so you caught it.![]()
Who cares?
He dumped into the thread, and what we got was INH and sig both upset over the message. Neither accused the other. Nether accused Quin. None of that happened. They focused on the message's origin or the consequences it may have for them as individuals rather than for civilians.
That to me is the most important thing, and I could give a toss if Quin was lying or truthful about his message.

Perhaps the most obvious thing to me is that Spacedaisy is spending half her time in this game in some form of BTSC.

Turnop Head doesn't believe in breakfast and i think that alone should be a lynchable offense
but he also made the same wincon claim he made in the thread here on day 0, almost first thing. his very first action in our chatroom was to say he didn't care what my alignment was cus he was an indie with an easy win con
and like..... everything about it is easily fakeable sure except he said he'd leave the game once he completed his wincon, and....?????? i guess there'd be ways to fake that too. but it would be a really weird gambit to commit to on day 0 of a game like this

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 2: Sig puts his John Hancock down
counterpoint?
it's weird as hell to put an indie and civ randomly in btsc together, like the btsc isn't even what my role is about, it doesn't have anything to do with TH's role either apparently, it seems to just be a thing that happened cus our characters are both grumpy dudes.
but like,.... if turnip head is telling the truth about his role and wincon then this is an odd choice for a masonic group, it's not as helpful as a true masonry but it's not as dangerous as a true mixmason either, it's just me kinda using Turniphead as a sounding board for ideas and crazy theories like about how maybe everyone else is paired off into masons too and talking about our favorite breakfast cereals.
it's kinda great actually
