Roll my eyes at the same old headlines and wonder what the news media will cover when Trump is no longer president.

What is the strangest animal you ever saw with your own eyes?

Not counting zoo animals, an Armadillo. I was visiting in laws in Texas, and it was just walking across the road. If you count zoo animals, it might still be the Armadillo, although I did see a pangolin once, on it's way to a zoo, and that was pretty weird. They have pangolins in the Pittsburgh zoo, I don't think many zoos in the US have them.

If you could bring back an extinct animal (other than dinosaurs, lol) what would it be?

The Tasmanian Tiger (if it is indeed extinct).

What was the best season of Lost?

Most people like 1 or 3, but I like 5, I liked the Dharma Initiative/LaFleur storyline. So yeah, 5. Although I could have done without all the drama in the base of the statue.
(I also would pick the Tazmanian Tiger!)

Luray Caverns in Virginia.

What's one thing you would change about your home if you could?

I waffle between raising the ceilings (I live in a lower level apartment and would like to be able to get tall bookcases) or having a bathtub, I only have a shower and miss having a tub. But I really lean towards the tub.

What is your least favorite household chore (I especially loathe floor related chores, vacuuming and mopping).

Loading the dishwasher (really anything related to cleaning up the kitchen, but that's largely owing to the fact that I do most of the cooking).

21-14? I dunno, lol. Football isn't my thing.

If you could retire to any country of your choice other than your own, where would you go?

The Netherlands, the weather isn't too harsh, and it's well located for European travel.

I'm 100% lady that way, I like the ice skating (although I also like luge, so death defying).

Red. It's our school polo.

In the pencil sharpener - I didn't know there was any other way.

What is the most scared you've ever been?

The real answer to that is probably a little too personal, but will go with a close second.

Once my sister in law sent her sons, 7 and 10, to spend a few weeks with us in the summer. I lived on a rural road at that time. I took them down the road for a walk to the bird sanctuary nearby, and we were just walking next to a lake, and I heard an engine, and I looked to my nephews... and I didn't immediately see the little one and the truck was RIGHT THERE, and so was the lake. And I lost my shit. I am screaming running in front of the truck waving my arms, scanning the lake, the whole thing. And he was just down in a ditch looking for arrowheads. After I stopped hyperventilating, I hugged him so hard, then I wanted to throw him in the lake for scaring me so bad, but I didn't.

Do you have a lot of memorabilia from your childhood?

I do! My children have inherited my action figures and books. I also have the first book I wrote when I was a kid (half plagiarized and wholly awful). I have many other things too stored away.

How old were you when you had your first kiss?

Seventh grade, so maybe 12? His name was Frank O'Rourke and he was shorter than me.

How old were you the first time you went to a movie without an adult?

14- my parents dropped me off for my first date. My girlfriend and saw Lost in Space. Apparently I was the only one interested in watching the movie.

How early do you have to get up for work/school?

I wake up at 4:30am during the week. When we work on the weekends I usually am up and at 'em around 5:30.

Prefer hero, villain, or morally ambiguous characters and why?

Morally ambiguous because they are so much more interesting and Imo mirrors people in rl

Who was your favorite - Kate, Juliet, Sun or Claire - and why?

Sun was cool because her backstory wasn’t one of a ‘troubled girl’ like Kate or Claire. She rose above her father’s influence, her husband’s and culture’s domineering man-centric mindset, and really became her own person. That made it all the harder to watch as seasons 4-6 turned her into a sad widow or damsel in distress type. I also hate the fact that her daughter, in all likelihood, is being raised by Sun’s horrible parents. The writers never had a full plan in mind for the character.

Luke Skywalker or Han Solo?

Young Han, Old Luke. Overall, Luke. I am over the Rogueish Good Guy trope, and prefer the Hero of Destiny type.

If you could be inserted into any franchise, film, TV, books; which franchise and what type of character?

Stephen King's The Dark Tower all day. And make me Eddie Dean. That's my brother from another fictional mother. Seriously, one of the most relatable characters in all of fiction for me.

answer and expand upon the following question: How big of an influence do you thinK LOST played on the development of online fandom communities in general?

While I don’t think Lost should be credited with being a force for the creation of other online fan communities, I think it helped to legitimize and de-stigmatize them. Lost was aided in this by coming out at the dawn of a new era of the internet. Social media was helping spread buzz faster and people were more used to reading blogs. The mystery and spoiler factors ramped up the buzzworthiness of the show. Had season 1 not had as high a quality factor, Lost wouldn’t have been the force it was. Online fan communities existed before Lost. The show and its following just made online fan communities (for all media forms) something for more than just the nerdiest of the nerdy.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi- believe the film critics or believe the fans?

I thought The Last Jedi was unfairly shit on by critics. I liked how it broke the common tropes and themes that everyone was expecting from it. Jenny Nicholson on the YouTubes has a great review of the movie that sums up how I feel about it nicely. I am looking forward to seeing how this new trilogy wraps up. Steve Urkel or Sheldon Cooper?

Steve Urkel. He's brilliant but he is also humble-brilliant. He's of the people and has a desire to live in and around normal people. Sheldon (from what little I've seen of him) comes across as arrogant-brilliant. He acts as if he has no time for anyone who cannot comprehend the kind of mind-boggling science stuff that comes easy to him. Those kinds of smart people are douchebags.


Would you prefer to play a computer game or read a Choose Your Own Adventure book?

Computer Game.

I loved CYOA as a kid, but damn they would penalize the most sensible decisions. At least from my memory. I was, however, fascinated by fantasy books of that genre, specifically Forest of Doom by Ian Livingstone. Rather than have the reader only make choices, there were encounters that were decided by earlier choices you had made, as well as dice rolls and skill checks you had to make from time to time. I wore the cover off the book. Nintendo also published some Mario-themed books in the same vein. I enjoyed them but I don't remember them as well.

What is the coolest sci-fi / fantasy weapon/device/object?

The replicater from Star Trek. I could use that, anyone could use that.

Well, I won the syndicate football pool which included the Super Bowl. It was close though, I was really lucky.

It was a toss up between the Alexa fails and the Bud Light/GOT mashup. I think I am leaning towards the Alexa one, Harrison Fords dog running away from him, "Ordering gravy, ordering sausages" was hilarious.

I totally agree with you S~V~S, the dog ordering from Alexa made me laugh a lot. And my runner up was the Bud/GOT one. I also liked the elevator that went to floors like Root Canal.
