I think HK is unironically scummy because he’s ignoring me, I think Guillo’s reasons for thunderdoming HK are bad and -EV to hang up all his focus into it (though I understand the underlying meta reasoning) but I think Guillo is more likely at this stage to just be tunneled townie rather than scummy for the push

I want Nutella to be town but her posts are coming across very weird in a way that didn’t happen in the NPC game when she was town (her severe disinterest in playing because she got pulled in after initially being an NPC aside as it was also the same for me just in the mafia side. and she still became a top tier townie by her death as far as the thread was concerned). Precisely because of the parenthesis I’m hesitant to fully push into it, also I don’t want the point to be missed as just “oh, Iawy is OMGUS’ing Nutella’s vote on them” either, but it’s a thought that I have

I don’t expressly have a read on Sabi yet, but I keep coming back to them as a slot of note that I feel like I should be townreading, but at the same time I am holding myself back from committing to that read. I don’t know why my brain works this way to be able to give an explanation for either read

I had a somewhat joke bad vibe read on him from the first page and his vibe has not improved, he's awkwardly defensive and doesn't come across as particularly solvey as he does when town, but tbf i have had trouble reading him before. My last experience with him he won as wolf in the music anni game 2 so that may be coloring it

It 100% is, but I was incredibly solvey there in a way that specifically designed in part to pocket you, so I get it, no worries

To explain myself more, me and HK are decent internet friends, have played a lot together, and specifically play super well with and off of each other when we both rand the same alignment and as town can find each other as such. We tend to both acknowledge each other and at least FMPOV pay attention to what the other is doing in the game because if we’re both town it benefits us both to find each other because we make a formidable force as a team

In the past little while, when we end up in a W!HK / V!Iawy rand, HK has tended to alternatingly take one of two approaches:

1) focus on my posts but take subtle digs at my reads and undermine my credibility by being critical of my thoughts in a way that discredits my reliability as a narrator or a reads-maker
2) Ignore my posts entirely to avoid drawing my gaze toward the scum meta tells in his interaction posts

We are currently in a 2) world (where “HK is town and we’re interacting just fine” is either 0) or 3), take your pick), so I do think [on meta grounds] that HK is mafia here

When he's town: his thoughts are a lot more free flowing and he says things that can be controversial and what not about. The game itself. He's also not hedgy with his reads.

In cartomacy he was avoiding pushing the envelope and kept giving people hedgy reads. He was bad at handling tmi. His fluff was less game focused.

I can verify this if you look at holes vs cartomacy since those are both his most recent games as either alignments

The theory is basically that mafia partners are more conscious of how they look in relation to one another. As such, they might be more hesitant to engage in casual chatter like this early in a game. Their interactions might instead tend to feel more choreographed, prepared, or calculated. They'll pick their spots.

So when two players freely and spontaneously engage in a silly little side conversation, it can be taken as an indication that they do not have those concerns about perception against them.

This is not a rock solid tell, nor am I saying that I agree or disagree with pyxxy's read of sig and sabiplz. But I can see where the thought comes from, and it is a read I am willing to acknowledge at this stage of the game (even if I'm projecting my own interpretation onto it).

reasonable tell. my plan was to just wait out until numbers dwindle. most likely will sheep alison/mac if i think theyre town since this is their home arena and they'll probs get nkd early if theyre town. once the numbers die down we should work together if we're both still around.

Yes, I think you’ll notice a significant difference in approach to entering the thread.

Kate is sneaky and quite capable of mixing it up but I wouldn’t say that would im describing is a mistake to begin with. It’s just personality. In carto you’re seeing a Kate that is endeavouring to appear townie. In this game she didn’t gaf.

Yes, I think you’ll notice a significant difference in approach to entering the thread.

Kate is sneaky and quite capable of mixing it up but I wouldn’t say that would im describing is a mistake to begin with. It’s just personality. In carto you’re seeing a Kate that is endeavouring to appear townie. In this game she didn’t gaf.
