so what? i'm rude now

I guess I'm just a little surprised by Made's brazen tactics in this game.
What's the difference?
vocaroo Made (maf) was much more um.... spongy(?) with his reads. he was a non commitmental man sitting on a fence tossing soft undercooked spaghetti at whoever passed by on the nearby street. early on he seemed set up to go with almost any lynch comfortably. he had a couple unique suspects that he went after more than others but never particularly strongly. He also set up a fake claim gambit in the late game when things were particularly dire.

compared to that version of made, this version of made seems to be front-loading his risk-taking. he doesn't seem as cautious here as he did in vocaroo. claiming that Sloonei is an indie role is not soft spaghetti, that's some pretty hard spaghetti. this made also has already made a rainbow list already on day 0 which doesn't fit into the "vocaroo maf made" template.

that's my first impression at least. and different doesn't even necessarily mean "good". the thread dynamics in the vocarko game were also pretty unique and iirc Made wasn't even fully present in the thread until like 72 hours into the game.

I kinda forgot about the poll cus I'm not even able to vote anymore since I peeked at the poll without voring.

I agree the outworld seems like the best starting point so we can potentially peek at those secrets, is there any consensus on where would be best to go second? I don't know if we will have enough coordination to set things up beyond our top three choices... especially since so many of us can't even vote lol

I like that Made was the first player to come out with a rainbow list. It's a bold move and not one that he was prompted into doing. It shows a willingness to share reads and promote development in the thread.

I still have absolutely no idea where his read of me comes from, and that Macdougall is the only player lower than me on his list is a bit of a mystery as well.

based on their team name I'd assume all the outworlders are from the outworld, of the indie roles, Ermac is also from the outworld and Kano is from earthworld. So I guess that would make earthworld a decent second location, all the other roles are civ and I don't see any benefit to revealing their secrets publically. So.... Earthplace seems like a decent second destination, assuming literally any of our assumptions about how this poll works are correct.

I'm also like.............. really really bored of this topic. Like... I'm the one who brought it back up and I'm already boring myself. There's so many cooler things going on rn.

Epignosis I and several others are locked out of the poll, if voting via post is acceptable then I would like to vote for earthrealm

Also Made has wilgy as his second strongest town read on the strength of this post and nothing else (wilgy's only other contribution at the time of made's rainbow was an OT comment about jack's avatar). I guess I overlooked this post when I was discussing Made's observation about heat on me, but I don't really take this seriously since it doesn't seem like wilgy's expressing an actual suspicion of me, rather he's just shaking his fist at me for having close to 50 posts on Day 0. I'd shake my fist at me too. That's ridiculous.
I don't understand any of Made's reads, I guess, but that doesn't stop me from liking that they exist at this point.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. ie the arguement against you was crap but just happened to allow for the correct conclusion.

(Example: Dom being sure I was bad in Mass Effect because he didn't believe I tried to make a rainbow list without hitting the preview/edit button.)

You were Bravo is Phenon, right?

I have this idea that if I see a player as town enough and as scum enough, I'll be able to tell what alignment they are now. I think I've seen bad Jimmy just once and it was some weird timing for you irl.

Doesn't mean nothing to me yet cause I haven't read the games. I expect that going forward, I will come up with some possible tells for you that may or may not be credible due to low sample size. We'll see.

It's ok mate. I'm used to a lot of fluff where I play Mafia lol. I don't really have anything to share at the moment. I'm reading the thread as it goes on and haven't caught anything. The majority of players are just trying to get reads on others based on meta.

I'm not really giving Made any townie cred for being brave and sharing reads. Way I see it, anyone can throw out reads based on nothing and do a combination of refusing to answer questions about reads and walking them back.

Tone-wise, Kyle is always town.

I see a trend here. I think we need to play more mafia games, you guys.

I actually want to come back to this statement.... Jack what gives you in particular this impression of me?

Pirates mafia was probably my weakest town game of all time, and the only reason I had town credit in mountains mafia was that I had a highly public civ role and a distinctive typing style that I didn't manage to hide well enough.

I also haven't had a mafia role on this website in recent history so it seems strange to make this generalization about my tone.

Yeah, the reads themselves aren't the reason I'm giving Made townie credit. It's there mere fact of their existence that I like. Even if they are totally bogus and "based on nothing", I like that Made opened himself up to discussion they would inevitably bring up. It's not impossible for a scum Made to take this step, and his own contributions to that discussion are going to carry a lot of weight for how my read develops, but at this moment I'm glad he posted a rainbow list and feel good about him for it.

You made lots of mistakes in Pirates. Like several I would normally want to push for a mislynch over yet when I looked around for who I could frame, I didn't think I could pull it off. You just seemed so darn genuine.

I later had a conversation about this with Dunya in Mountains. With shine with genuineness.

I do believe that KOFM and Sloonei are both town.

Have felt pings from Dave, Quin and Nutella. Will explain them in a future post.

same message for @Dave and @lapluie. Sorry there's so much content already. You don't have to read all of it. Just get a feel for what's happening and start talking to us.
It's ok mate. I'm used to a lot of fluff where I play Mafia lol. I don't really have anything to share at the moment. I'm reading the thread as it goes on and haven't caught anything. The majority of players are just trying to get reads on others based on meta.

About the game, I'm still a bit lost and wandering how each location we vote for might impact the gameplay. It's original and interesting though
what can you tell us about the mafia culture you're used to? how do you guys normally treat day 1? do you play with lots of power roles? what's your policy on roleclaiming and stuff?

i like to ask questions.
We have 3 kinds of Mafia.

Regular Mafia : It has a night start. There is no Day 0. It's a kind of role madness with a lot of power roles. The setup is closed and the night write-ups are filled with flavor names. Each role has a flavor name. So it's about the write-up and scum hunting during the day phase.

Traditional Mafia : It has a Day start. The setup is also closed and it's all about scum-hunting. There is no major write-ups.

Town of Salem : Night start. Open setup if only 15 players. More than that, the set-up is closed.

Roleclaiming depends on the host and what kind of Mafia. In traditional, it's usually forbidden or heavily frowned upon. You usually hint.
In Regular, the policy is leniant. The only thing you shouldn't do is quote your role PM.

@novaselinenever

Gimmie a read on somebody.
Everyone is neutral so far to me. Trying to remember the usernames so I can follow people more and get reads.

I do wonder what the point of this question was. Didn't get much out of the Kylemii read otherwise. Tone-wise he's meta town.
Tone-wise, Kyle is always town.

I see a trend here. I think we need to play more mafia games, you guys.

But yeah, I basically agree with this evaluation of Kyle. Dunya seemed to think he wouldn't shine so much as a scummer.

I actually don't see it here. Cause you're "mean now."

Not sure is bad Kyle is meaner tho.
I said "I'm rude now" not mean... also it was a joke. I actually just feel comfortable speaking more informally here since playing vocaroo.

thank you for your response

Dave wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2018 12:02 pm although i m new to format and lack knowledge of mortal kombat i voted for outworld too as it makes sense as explained by jay, given current scum reads i dont have one i see dat people sus quin but i have to read more from him to give a verdict
So Dave's only made this one post. I've got zero meta on this guy as I've never played with him and I do have a history of getting pinged by people incorrectly and given it's just one post it's probably a relatively meaningless ping. I simply don't like that he justified his vote for Outworld as simply as deferring to Jay's explanation, which was actually a relatively decent justification and that is not what I am calling into question, I just doubt the sincerity of Dave's belief in Jimmy being an adequate reason to vote.

Also it has a bit of a tone of a forced introductory post. Those more familiar with this Dave can comment on what his town intro posts are generally like or Dave is like in general.

Sorry I meant to say pinged by people I am unfamiliar with incorrectly, though the comment there is not incorrect either haha.

Yes, you and Made. For different reasons though. I still have to reread the thread to get a more clear image.
