Lynching at randon just because it gives us a result is worse than trying to lynch and having a good chabce of failure. We learn nothing from the former since votes were meaningless. From the later we at least have a vote tally we can dissect later.
Agreed, but most of us can't be lynched.

What do you propose we do?

Any pings from reading the thread?
Not yet.

The replacement is lynch suspect people.

Define wasted phase.

Because lynching a random player will most likely hit a civ and will give us no useful information whatosoever. Since it will be someone who wasn't likely attacked of defended by anyone.

Meanwhile, by lynching normally, we at least produce information from people's reads that can be used to find scum in a future phase.

Like information is only a thing in mafia when it's gotten from people accusing each other.

What you are proposing is that nobody accuses each other and we vote each other from a pre-made system.

You are killing the source of information, not increasing it.

You can still read people's posts and judge whether they are genuine or not. Which is only gotten when we are accusing each other.

Right now you are proposing nobody accuses each other and we vote at random. Basically this is a Day 0 with some random player starting with 1 role instead of 2. By the end of Day 1, no mafia game will have been played yet.

I've played enough mafia games to know this kind of system only works in theory.

Accusations only work when there are votes with them.

When there are no votes, most players don't even bother accusing.

Who said that no one accuses each other, we are talking about VOTING with this plan, not accusing. Most of us are not lynchable, fact. So we can try to figure out the best way to use our lynch, and still discuss suspicions. You seem to be discussing the lack of discussion on suspicion as opposed to actually discussing suspicions. Which I find kind of suspicious, lol.

And it is already screwed up since sprityo voted for Bob.

The role of a lynched
Person without a haiku
Is "information"

It makes no dang sense
To oppose round robin vote
Unless you are bad.

And if I move my vote I will be moving it to myself, which I would rather not do. If we wind up staying with the plan, I might ask someone to switch votes with me. If we decide to do otherwise, it does not matter.

8) Players will get two roles in this game. You will all get your first role at the start of the game. You will only get your second role upon your first death. If you die twice, you are officially actually dead. When your first role dies (regardless of how you die), your role will be revealed, but your affiliation and win conditions will be kept secret. When your second role dies, your role and affiliation will be revealed if you die by lynch or any method other than nightkill. It is possible for players to change win conditions or affiliations, however any mafia player who has BTSC with their team for role one will continue to have the same affiliation and win conditions for role two.
I don't know all the mechanics behind this whole thing, but at face value, this concerns me, because it means that it is possible that by lynching a civilian, you do worse than lynching a civilian: You can increase the mafia strength. Furthermore, any mafia have to be lynched twice in order to be eliminated. Additionally, I would expect this to be an invitation for mafia to kill their own members in order to buy credibility and/or gamble away their weakest roles in hope of something better.

Yes, I would like to discuss mechanics Day 1.

Becasue if we stuck to the round robin plan, sprityo should have voted for me, but he voted for Bob, so Bob would have two votes and I would have none. Since Bob can't be lynched, it doesn't matter. But Sprit broke the circle, so it double doesn't matter.

Never mind, S~V~S, I looked at the poll and I get it.... but Epignosis and DDL aren't going to play ball with the round robin plan. I guess we could plan to counterbalance their eventual votes by tying it up again.... then they could only screw it up by voting for the same person.

That said, I'm not married to the round robin idea. I agree with DDL, it doesn't.... DO anything. This whole lynch is like we're wearing kevlar and wrapped in bubble wrap. We can't die, even if we get lynched. And if we could die, we still wouldn't die.

I was hosting a game last week and players were lynching for Information on Day 6 with a 2/3 ratio for mafia.
