One of the reasons the night chats are so valuable is that we're cut off from the main thread at night. Restoring the night thread kind of cuts down on that, but I'll go with whatever everyone else wants (I voted no, haven't had time to see the end result though).
People want more talk in the thread? Then lets get talking. Great conversations in private that get kneecapped by "no infodumping" during the day aren't gonna be enough. Quit saying you want more talk, and lets get talking! Who's with me?!?!
Very good chat night. Rewarding. Just... in friendship and stuff.
Really don't know what I'm supposed to be doing. Whatever. Anyone got something they want to share? Heck, something they can share?
I would love to talk with you. Maybe at the Roadhouse, or The Power and the Glory? (The Woods still creep me out as of this moment but I guess I'll have to go eventually)
Both my night chats have been virtually non existent. I am going back to The Roadhouse because I have reason to believe that is where Laura was last night and might have left the ring there.
Wait INH, the way this poll is design is somebody not going to be able to go to a location? We have thirteen players for four locations with a max three. There's an odd person out.
I'm going to The Power and the Glory pending any requests from other players. Speedchuck, DH, sounds good?

Sounds good to me. I'll vote there for now and if someone who I haven't talked to wants to pull me away, I'll do that.

I'm planning to join you and novaselinenever at The Roadhouse. Maybe we'll get something figured out.

You are correct in stating that there are currently 13 players in the game and 12 slots for locations.

Should we talk about what we're each trying to do here, what we think the point of the game is?
I'll put some things out there.
The telegram said there are initially civilian and mafia teams. The closest thing to a "mafia" in the movie are Leo and Jacques, who are both in a way accomplices to Laura's murder (I'll keep the spoilers light). Since we don't have a lynch, it's possible we're supposed to get them through the ring. Most of our win conditions are secret, though, and I don't really know if that would win us the game but we should still try to uncover these roles or at least their place in the game.
Then there's the matter of ███. ███ is bad news, and I have no question that we'll need to get him somehow. The telegram says there are LMS-based elements in the game. If anyone's win condition is LMS, it's probably him. ███ is also the killer of Teresa Banks, so this game is essentially premised on the FBI finding him. In the show and movie, ███ is a spirit that acts with or usually through characters, so it's possible players don't even have the ███ role but instead simply "carry" him. In the show, a way to get him is to kill the carrier first, and then put the ring on them. Since we don't have another method of killing in this game (so far), it's possible that all we need to do is give them the ring. If this doesn't work, however, and just giving him the ring doesn't get rid of ███... then I wouldn't know what to do. So not only do we need to find him, we need to be careful not to empower him. It's also possible that ███ is a player, do you think it would make sense then to give the ring to his carrier if he has one? Up to here this is all speculation, hopefully useful to people with information.
I would also suggest that Laura not reveal her role to anyone. If the bad guys catch wind of who Laura is, that will probably be bad for the rest of us. So be very careful of who you share info with.
Another thing; ███'s goal before the series / during the movie is to corrupt Laura and be able to possess her. The ring prevents this. I don't know what this says for anyone's win conditions, except that the ring can be used as a buffer against ███ even if it kills you.
I may not be able to offer any insight into Twin Peaks but I do know INH games, and how INH thinks and what he likes to put into his games, so I can crunch the numbers so to speak on that regard.
First real rule in playing an INH game is to take absolutely nothing at face value. The game we're playing today and the game we're playing tomorrow may not even resemble each other.
Second important thing to keep in mind is INH has no love for typical mafia structure. We shouldn't expect to solve/win the game by hunting mafia, and the "baddies" shouldn't expect to solve or win the game by avoiding detection and killing as many people as possible.
Third important thing is that INH tends to put challenges or puzzles into his games. Sherlock Mafia was full of this shit. So if you want to go far and do well in this game, I'd recommend finding one or two people you trust, that can help you when the puzzles start to drop because you won't be able to do it alone and trying will kill you.
I don't think I've played a game with a time limit before but the two weeks limit presents an interesting question. Are we running out the clock, marching ever forward to our inevitable deaths? Does anything we do matter if the only apparent source of death is the ring, and only the dead get to determine who gets the ring in the first place? The answer to that is, as best I can tell, no. We're waiting for the shoe to drop, and with INH games there are several shoes and they will always drop when you least expect them to.
So what I'm saying is take what you know about mafia and kiss it goodbye before jamming a dagger straight into its neck and watching it bleed out, only to then realize that its dying gasps hold the one valuable piece of information you needed to win.

I have never played an INH game as far as I can remember....dont quote me on that but I can't remember one.
ANyway, I find this very comforting.

LAURA PALMER'S ACTIVITIES FOR THE DAY OF FEBURARY 19th, 1989:
9:45 AM: Woke up. Took down the painting, and threw it in the trash.
10:10 AM: Showered, got dressed.
10:15 AM: Wrote in her diary the following message: "The good Dale is in the Lodge and can't leave."
12:30 PM: Made lunch at home.
1:56 PM: Called Jacques Renault and made plans for the evening and night.
4:40 PM: Made herself a drink and greeted Donna Hayward, who came over to visit.
4:43 PM: Denied Donna's offer to accompany her.
5:22 PM: Arrived at the Roadhouse.
5:31 PM: Cried while watching the performing band.
5:39 PM: Met the Log Lady, Margaret Lanterman, who told her the following: "When this kind of fire starts, it is very hard to put out. The tender boughs of innocence burn first, and the wind rises, and then all goodness is in jeopardy."
Spacedaisy has been killed by the Ring, which was given to her by DrWilgy. She was Teresa Banks, a mafia recruit.
It is now Night 3. You have 24 hours to converse in chatrooms and send in night actions.
Wait, so did Daisy give *you* the ring or did you get the ring because giving a member of the mafia the ring would mean they would know who not to give it to?

To be clear, this is meant more as a speculative question rather than "Please infodump".
It appears to me that the only player who directly quoted any post made by Daisy in this game was lapluie, so it makes sense that Daisy would dump the ring on her. I am sorry for your fate, lap.
Daisy cooked up a laborious reason to camp in the woods with Marmot.

I think I'd like to check out the woods and who better to check out the woods with than such an avid outdoors-man as Marmot?
Maybe he can get the ring.

So I am guessing that given we aren't lynching and the game ends at the end of day 7 that the aim is to survive to the end of the game moreso than to actually "get" the bad guys (for vanilla townies at least). This poll might more of a "don't go where the people you suspect are because they will kill you overnight if you are in the same location as them", dealio.
I also think this looks a bit cooked, like the words of a person who knows they are speaking b/s for the sake of looking like they don't know what's going on. So maybe Mac can get the ring.
It's up to you, lapluie. I wouldn't care to receive the ring. The thought would still be appreciated though. Such a kind gesture to just give someone a ring!

Hm yeah, I guess we could actually be scumhunting in this game, and then nominate people in thread to receive the ring. A townie would probably follow through.

Yeah, it follows that they would have BTSC to begin with, but I'm not sure if it actually says that anywhere or if there's precedent with INH games.
Thank you jjj for that information. definitely taking those optons to consideration, will see what happens then & do a bit more digging for the final decision.
Also you're right dramahelper that sounds like a wise thing to do.

Also worth keeping in mind, though, that Daisy was recruited. Could this have been facilitated by location BTSC?
