Rams tonight. Based on my own comparative stats, this could be an interesting game. Defense will determine the winner early.

Perhaps I only pretend to understand football. Or maybe this kind of back-and-forth scorefest is what football is turning into when defenses get penalized for trying.

I think the offenses for both teams are just really, really good. Cousins played his mind out and the Vikings are 1 blown whistle away from another TD, but the Rams are the best team in football so far.

Football is a highly variable thing. Any game between any two teams can take any shape.

Not a good showing from the Bills yesterday, but these things happen. I think I’d rather lose in a blowout than how the Browns did.

I have to miss the game tonight but it should be a good one (and I need Lindsay to not get ejected this time for my fantasy team ...)

Sharp money was on Denver (at least to cover the spread).

I'm conflicted here, because Kansas City hasn't been more than a 1.5 point favorite since 1990.

I'm fading the public in this match-up: Give me Denver at home.

None of them did KC any favors. Case Keenum was just that bad tonight.

An unusual aspect of this game was that the running backs were the stars. That was highly unexpected.

My biggest deal was how many TD passes were ruined by bad throws or flags. Sutton (my biggest play) lost two touchdown opportunities because of this. Had he gotten one touchdown, this would have been a much different script.

I think a few of the calls were questionable.

The biggest surprise for me was the sudden eruption of Kareem Hunt against the Broncos rushing defense.

File that shit under "Oh well."

Mahomes reminds me of Colin Kaepernick -- decent skillset, particularly accuracy on the run, but not spectacular and subject to a sharp regression eventually. We'll see.

Mahomes is better, and regression will come, but that regression will be Mahomes' regression, not Kaepernick's. I still foresee the Chiefs being a SuperBowl winning team here. Mahomes is the real deal, and Andy Reid is one of my favorite coaches (despite the cutesy play calling).

I also think the Panthers are sleepers this year. Cam Newton is better without Greg Olson (wild, I know), and Christian McCaffery is amazing. Amazing and without a TD because his QB vultures every opportunity. That is going to come in handy down the stretch, methinks...

I think Carolina is the best team in the NFL's toughest division. If they can get to the postseason, they're built for success.

I'll certainly take it. I have always hated shootouts. Bad defense is not good football to me. I love a game that ends 20-17, and would prefer 9-6 over that shit.

I lost because I went heavy on pass catchers and the one player I ignored was Hunt. Again, I file that under "Oh well." I've done this long enough to know that random bullshit happens. I would have lost no matter what because I don't play running backs against the Broncos. :)

I hope you never get elected President of the NFL, because my bread and butter are high scoring games. I'm up $103 a week on football this season.
