Hi everyone!
This game is pretty different from mafia. In mafia you want to give a lot of info and in AITP you want to give as little info as possible.
If everyone talks a lot and gives read lists it will be super easy for the assassins to deduce who the king is just by looking at who nobody wants to kill.
But if don't talk and just collectively vote off the first person to get run up with votes each day, the assassins don't have much info to work with and can't make accurate shots. There is no night phase so we have guards to spare and losing a guard isn't a big deal.

And that means if you are voted, just accept it instead of trying to defend yourself or convincing anyone not to vote you. Don't try to start a counterwagon for self pres either.
Hi Miss, may I kindly ask, are you mafia?

King Arthur it is, btw. Is he fictional, though?
As far as I know, he is. I don't know any other so I voted for him. But if we didn't have to vote kings but assassins, who would you present?
I have no reads yet, but I still have to read 3 pages
I thought at the strategy but the problem is the setup described in the link has one assasin. We have 2. That's enough to weaken the idea of not giving infos and win by chopping assassins.
Uhh, lemme do math.
Chances to hit town (excluding king) day by day:
10 9 8 7 6 5 4
80%, 77%, 75%, 71%, 66%, 60%, 50%
So if we go by math, in the random voting stage (which will NOT be random since we actually have to decide on who to vote, you know) I estimate that we will probably hit town, with average luck, 4 or 5 times before finally hitting one scum letting them pass through f5. Then they'll have plenty of hints and what not and just in general ugh, I hate the idea of doing that

Not really sure how to make of Foxy's interest.
I feel like he could be scum probing for more intel to find the king.
I find Thunal's idea pretty good. Tho, I think we should be careful on how we make our "random" lynches, so they aren't so random. (I did try to backread previous AITP games, but that failed miserably as I got lazy.)
I also have ulterior motives in following their idea, because I came back from a long hiatus and I wanna do the bare minimum and chill.
Is it dangerous if we always have a tie vote between 2-3 players? Who that is shouldn’t matter, as the king will never be killed in a tie.
I realize that does allow for some weird switcheroos to possibly lop it onto the king, but I’m trying to avoid the following scenario:
We ‘randomly’ (whatever that means) pick the King as the yeet for the day. Everyone piles on, but we as guards can’t let that happen, thus it will expose the king. Right?
We just don't pick the king as the elim for the day and I don't think that should be hard.
Miss, you aren't helping me as I really want to drop the early scum read

SETUP:
Town:
1 King
10 Guards
Mafia:
2 Assassins
The Assassins win the game if they eliminate the King. Killing the Guards is not necessary. The King/Guards win the game if they eliminate the Assassins, and the King survives.
The Guards have learned the name of the King in the role PM. But the King doesn't know who the Guards are. The Assassins know each other and have BTSC.
Each Assassin has a single kill shot they can use at any time. If they use that kill, they die. But if they are eliminated, they are allowed to retaliate and use their kill shot before leaving the game.
So the King must hide, the Guards must hunt the Assassins while pretending they don't know who the King is, and the Assassins must hunt the King.
Days will be 48h each, and there will be no night phases.

No hard feelings, this isn’t the first time people have disagreed with the way I play and it’s not the first time people have scumread me for it. In response to one of your questions no, I’m not mafia.
And I’m actually trying to figure out the answers to some of your earlier questions because while my strategy is a good idea for 6 player AITP I kind of want to see how it translates to 13 player AITP and if it’s any different.
Just to check in, you don't feel uncomfortable with me engaging in this discussion more as I sure do have questions to ask?
I don’t think this discussion is too bad because it kind of continues what’s already there so idt we’re giving the assassins much new info. Giving lots of reads is what we have to be most careful of.
It looks like about a 70% chance town is able to kill both assassins before they reach parity if we eliminate by random (because I’m a nerd and felt like making a script for it). We can use the info we already have and any new info to increase that chance, but we’re already in a pretty good spot for eliminating both assassins. The assassins aren’t in such a good spot from the start, they have to get more info to be able to make good shots.
And Avalon does have a ranking system and sometimes tournaments but I’ve never played one.
0. I was asking if I was personally making you feel uncomfy hahah as you didn't seem engaging at the start. Glad that's not the case.
1. What makes you believe that eliminations will be random?
2. Can you show me the process behind the calculations?
3. Oh nice, I might check out the game.
No you're fine, I just had to think through if I wanted to engage.
1. I don't but it can be an okay baseline to get an idea of town's chances.
2. Open up Python and ask ChatGPT to write some code. My understanding is that it recursively computes probabilities until all the mafia are eliminated or mafia reach parity. Kind of similar to these calculations but not the same since this game has no night kills.

Trust me, I tried using chatgpt for school and projects. It's math is equal to a 5 year old kid's at times. Worst part is, it does well in disguising it but it in fact usually calculates wrong

The Council Meeting
The king gathered his most loyal defenders to talk about what had just happened. They talked for over an hour, each one yelling louder than the other, not coming up with any idea.
Then one of the most experienced knights, Sir Luffy, came up with something:
"What if your majesty hides among the guards? This way, the assassins will have a hard time finding you!"
Then the court wizard, Jay the Jagged, added: "I could use one of my spells to make your majesty look like a random guard"
The king pondered, and accepted the idea. Only the people in that room would know about the plan, and only Jay would know who the king was. And the king had known the wizard for decades, so he was trustworthy.
But before they could proceed, an object flew through the air. Sir Luffy quickly moved to defend the king. It was a knife, aimed at the monarch, which was stopped by the knight's chest.
As he watched his knight die before him, the king realized they had been compromised. Someone from his inner circle was an assassin. Maybe more than one. Now even if he hid, the assassins knew what to look for. Still, it was the best plan they had.
DDL (Guard) was killed.
Day 1 begins!

@falcon45ca the Silmarillion was a hard read for me; I recall how Fingolfin started but for the life of me can't recall how he ended.
Fingolfin ended in single combat against Morgoth, where he hewed the Dark Lord seven times, and seven times did he injure Morgoth. Alas, Fingolfin could not kill Morgoth and grew weary; in his last act of defiance stabbed the Dark Lord in the foot, who would thereafter walk with a limp, before being killed by Morgoth
The Silmarillion is like reading a textbook almost, I had to change my mindset to read it

ToT ChatGPT is pretty good, lately. Have you tried the latest ver? It's good at even word problems in areas of physics and chem.

Hate to be the one to give the suggestion because this game is anything but but
It won't be so hard if we don't show favoritism to the king.

I would be down for some big brained mech idea, if I understand its efficacy.

I'm off work and caught up.
I read the wiki page previously and have thought about it.
"However, it still allows the town a distinct advantage and turns the game into little more than a lottery."
There's no distinct advantage about "little more than a lottery." I'm a gambler, and I don't do lottery.
Nevertheless, the presence of two assassins (instead of one) changes the dynamic and provides a little more to work with than blind chance.
It's a little more like finding the damn Destroyer in Battleship.
