here's another tidbit of info: i rolled village redirector in a game before. it was actually inception mafia on this very site. i played lax that game but not out of me thinking the role was "self-resolving"; in fact i didn't think that whatsoever and my role basically did nothing the entire game. the game also forbid role claims for the record. i don't really believe katze/esooa believed their self-resolving plan given how shallow it was and the fact you need to direct 2 wolves for it to even work. if they are a villager, they miscalculated this exceptionally poorly.

I get the outrage, but could you please read the part where they said they misread their role as BG and say why you disbelieve that first before attacking katze for a dozen reasons that rely on them realizing they're a redirector

Alright. It is time to play Mafia.

I AM A POWER ROLE.

The reason why I claim this is very simple. I wish to torture the Mafia, because they are my opponents. I could be Vanilla Town fakeclaiming Power Role in order to get myself killed, and Mafia will feel dumb for falling for it. Alternatively I could be a Power Role and the Mafia will feel dumb for not killing me after I just outed it for no reason. In either case, the Mafia is susceptible to making a mistake, and their egos are placed on the line (at least if I was Mafia I would feel dumb for reading me wrong here.)

I have also confirmed myself as a Town beyond a shadow of a doubt, as no member of the Mafia in their right mind would open the game with a post like this. If I was Mafia I would make a post like this, actually, but you guys don't get to consider I could be scum doing this because I just told you that I could do it as scum. If I didn't tell you this, you would have no reason to consider it, because it is silly and wrong and you would look dumb. Ergo, if I hadn't had told you, you wouldn't consider it. Ergo, it is correct of you to lock me as town and never reevaluate no matter what. I was simply doing you guys a favor of letting you know what I would do as Mafia since I am Town-aligned and I wish to teach my fellow members of the Town how to play better. Anything short of locking me as an Innocent Child at this point is basically gamethrowing.

Thank you for reading. Regardless of anything that happens further, I have made beyond a shadow of a doubt the correct play, I have confirmed myself as Town-aligned, and the Mafia will make a mistake in their decision during Night 1.

bg and redirector are significantly different roles my friend. if you're a villager, you need to understand your role to its fullest. this should be common practice.

i tried to solve thunderdomes based off of claims but that's because i'm friends with some setup designers and do a bit of brainstorming myself

when it comes to... actually applying my own mechanical abilities in games, i don't actually think i'm great it (im decent at leading wolfteams ime but that's because i know what to work with)

yeah i'm more interested how to continue to go about the dayphase in a way that isn't just defending your actions. your perspective is still useful to me if you are a villager.

if a villager is janitored D1 without knowing it'll happen they'll be likely to assume a wolf did it and decent odds are if a wolf has an ability to do that then the game is silly then they have a way to find out what flipped

given the opportunity to speak to a medium, a role that is proooobably >rand V, there's very few roles i'd refuse to claim in their position. especially to a player like you, who is extremely obvious in their typing and is also widely townread
