I believe in town medium way more than mafia medium so Toopy might be clear.

I think the fact that TAT was janitored isn't itself AI. Not claiming a role is kinda scummy. The nice try thing was NAI.

I believed they were decently >rand scum yesterday so I'm ok with treating them as probable scum now with the caveat that we should at least keep an eye on town TAT worlds.

yeah i was also going to say that them not claiming a role was pretty wolfy, especially when they earlier said they would. plus it doesn't seem like they claimed what they actually are to toopy.

It's weird that you described it as a bodyguard initially then, BG explicitly only targets lethal actions. If you thought it redirected all actions it would make more sense to call it a lightning rod or self redirector, no?

b) Try to fake clear one of his partners?

If it's b) he has to calculate the possibility that Toopy goes public with it and thread suspect he anti spewed one of his teammates.

well basically

i've seen the term lightning rod like once ever in a mafia setting tbh

but my mentality was that my role, as i originally perceived, was unlikely to exist in a setup with other protective roles (bg/doc/jk) so i mentally assigned myself the role of super bodyguard and aspired to die night one

here's another tidbit of info: i rolled village redirector in a game before. it was actually inception mafia on this very site. i played lax that game but not out of me thinking the role was "self-resolving"; in fact i didn't think that whatsoever and my role basically did nothing the entire game. the game also forbid role claims for the record. i don't really believe katze/esooa believed their self-resolving plan given how shallow it was and the fact you need to direct 2 wolves for it to even work. if they are a villager, they miscalculated this exceptionally poorly.

I don't think it's unreasonable to call the role they thought they were self resolving

Urist (I think) evidently was able to guess our identity on the basis that Urist:

a) Believes that he correctly identified that the Phil Dunphy character is the most likely janitor because he's a magician? And apparently in flavour a magician would "make a flip disappear"?
b) Is so thoroughly convinced we are mafia that he took his epiphany that the janitor was Phil, to the extreme of applying it to his top scum read.

The logical hoops I have to jump through to be okay with this are TOO DAMN HIGH.

Also we should never be voting BT today regardless. They are essentially claimed doc with the upside that if they land their doc save they also get a vigilante shot that night. I am never going to vote that claim on D2 with no counterclaim or mech info implicating them.
