Going off the past three pages I've read, INH is currently reminding me of a bad marmot in RoTTK who stuck entirely on the defensive when he started taking votes. I'll vote him for now, pending an ISO when my internet sorts itself out.

Starting to feel it.
why do those only come from scum?
They don't. I think it's scum at a greater-than-random rate though. It's a bad defense, frankly, and the baddie benefit is pretty easy to identify -- it simultaneously weakens an argument against them and directs attention to someone else. It doesn't actually mean they're innocent of anything, or that they actually defended themselves substantively. It's a tactic.
You constantly conflate "baddie tactic" and "ways to shift attention off of themselves".
I'm desperately trying to shift attention off of myself and onto other people. I realize my quintuple posts and in-thread hysterics may not accomplish that, but it's what I have in mind. Because I'm a civilian, despite what everyone else will tell you, and I find the fact that I'm the only one with more than one vote terrifying. If you'd let me pull the ol' Lee Harvey Oswald, I'd like to acknowledge my own patsy-ness.
I also mean it genuinely. I genuinely don't know how all of these people convinced I'm playing the game wrong want me to play. Exactly like them, I suppose?
So, when you only had a few votes on Day 2, why were your defenses more or less the same than they are now? A civ generally doesn't mind a bit of attention, but that hasn't been the case with you. And you've constantly tried to discredit every bit of suspicion that others have perceived, by twisting their words around so that you say they say things that they haven't said about you.
And please point out a post where someone says tht you're playing the game wrong.

insertnamehere wrote:
JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Pretend you have a vigilante shot right now and you must use it on this Night 3. Who gets shot?
Glorfindel. He came into this game very buddy-buddy with you and proceeded to mainly ignore the growing suspicion from your end. I think he still wants to pretend you two are simpatico. Looking at the Lorab voters, he's the one who strikes me to be the hobo hitching a ride on the bandwagon.
Given that there are five LR voters, and I can safely remove myself and Elo from the pool of suspects, that leaves me with Sloonei, Wilgy, and good ol' Glorf.
Sloonei strikes me as sincere, Wilgy is Wilgy being Wilgy like only Wilgy can be, and Glorf has done nothing to dissuade any of my suspicion.
I think it's stupid to think that Lorab voter = scum, but it's also naive to think that there wasn't a last ditch effort from Toecutter's gang to save their eponymous member.
This post only gave everyone more ammunition for their mass INH stone throwing.
But, fuck it, I'm gonna walk right into this trap the exact same way again.
Glorfindel. Seeing as I've spent the last two hours responding to wall posts and daggers in the front from most of the player list, it's been kinda hard for me to scum hunt considering that I only have a limited amount of time for mafia, and I was supposed to go the gym an hour ago. I've been getting my workout grinding my teeth at what's become of the thread. Most of my opinions have to do with the people who've spent extensive time attacking me. Those same people are now reading this post with palpable glee that I fell for the exact same move again, and quickly preparing their wallposts about how utterly meaningless and empty the way I play mafia is. Glorfindel isn't sitting right for me, and nothing I've read over the past few hours has changed that.
So, basically, neener.

Again, you are discrediting the suspicion of you and those that suspect you.
Also, baddies don't tend to jump on bandwagons--they start them. Baddies don't often jump in at the end to vote for someone they know is civ, when there is a really good chance that their teammate is about to be lynched, because it's way too obvious to connect them to that teammate. Even for a possible save to tie and therefore stop the lynch, if one of the votes on Elo didn't count, I think it's way too risky a move. And a lynch stop would have made it pretty evident that she was bad, so the risk/reward isn't good enough for a baddie last minute vote on a counter-wagon to make sense. How would you justify that move, if he were bad.
Also, if Glorf is bad, how do you explain Elo's confusion about Glorf having been replaced earlier?

This whole post reminds me of Donald Trump denying and lying his [expletive] off during the debates, and getting away with it scot-free because the moderators and Hillary simply don't have time to fact check each ridiculous statement they say, only glossing over it with a "that's false."
It's 9:40, I've already been banging my head against my computer to the point where I'm beginning to see bone. I interned a summer at a mental health facility. I've read multiple books about the stigma surrounding mental health, and I try to make it a big part of my life to deflate these hateful misconceptions that arise through stereotypes and derogatory language.
That being said, this is fucking retarded. It's the dumb cop out to end all cop outs.

I have no intention of making your playing experience worse. I am only trying to solve the game, and I don't know your alignment. I'm telling you what one thing is that could influence my read for the better. Obviously you don't have to do it, it's up to you. Play the game however you want. It shouldn't be this frustrating for you. If you need to step away for a while I can understand, or maybe you could speak with the moderator on duty.
I hope it's clear that I have no personal issue with you and I don't think you're a bad Mafia player. We have different mindsets about the game, but that doesn't have to cause this kind of dialogue. I'm glad everyone doesn't play like me.

Y'all could be right. NaiveJimmyJay has been wrong about similar reads lately.

now you know how I've been feeling. Shame I'm not a confirmed civ, and actually have to address every post to somehow prevent myself from being lynched.

I honestly hope you're wrong, even if he gets lynched. It'd help the town cause, but it'd make me feel much worse than a town flip would.
Perhaps it's because he has for days been saying things about my posts that are absolutely inaccurate, and then coming back at me accusing me of being unreasonable when I ask him to show me where I have erred in my assessment, that is coloring my opinion. I don't like being lied about--and if I'm saying things that are coming off in a way that I don't intend them, especially when they are being hurtful towards another, I appreciate learning what exactly I have said that has been misinterpreted so that I can do better in the future. But I'm not getting that. And, as a result, it's hard for me to believe that his posts are coming from an honest place. I do see he is frustrated--clearly. But I just can't see him as civ.
JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I think INH is town. To make posts like these as a bad guy for the sake of staying alive in a Mafia game would be absolutely deplorable. I don't think he is that person.
Then why hasn't he defended against a single thing that he's actually been found suspicious for? Why does he say that he's being accused of things that no one has accused him of? Why is he discrediting everything said about him and every player that has said it? Why is he representing mistruths and then refusing to demonstrate how he believes they are true?
I don't think it's deplorable, I think it's desperation. I really find it hard to believe that he's civ.
His behavior indicates that he's not.
All of those assertions can be debated.
He is more than frustrated right now. He is furious. He is getting personal, to the point that I think it should literally be against the rules for a baddie player (or to be honest any player, but I understand a townie can sometimes have these moments). It's no longer about reads anymore, IMO. Attacking the core character of other people is not a strategy, and I don't think he's using it as a strategy.
How is it that Zebs and I managed to infuriate you earlier but INH insulting you here has you so calm?

INH getting caught as a baddie and having a meltdown does not comply with his responses under pressure as a baddie in RotTK.

Why is your read of indiglo spooky scary? You haven't mentioned her at all yet from what I can see.

I don't understand the question, please restate.
Oh it's not really game relevant I am just a little confused at how Zebs and I managed to get you angry earlier while INH telling you you make his skin crawl or whatever is met with androidism.

I'd rather not dredge up that discussion to answer this.

I reciprocate INH's frustration. I have no idea how to lay out a case against him without it resulting in an explosion.

Could you try to stow the cases you have in mind and just make an emotion-driven read? Sometimes the gut speaks louder than the mind.

People respond differently at different moments--emotion isn't necessarily alignment indicative one way or another. And I'm not sure which game that is. I've played a ton of games with INH and don't recall a response like this--from him as a baddie or as a civ. So I'm not reading the emotion of his response as evidence one way or the other. It is the content that I find suspicious.

My sentimental calibrations compel me to feel that insertnamehere's town-alignment is a falsehood.

I remember him giving the appearance of effort on Day or Night 1 and gave him a tentative early town read. Other than that all that really sticks out in my mind was his push for a three-way tie yesterday, which I just took to be typical chaotic Wilgyplay. He dropped it when I reminded him a tie results in a no lynch and I just shrugged at the whole thing.
