aw shit

why
Just an old school syndicate rule. It’s not in every anymore, but it’s not uncommon.

It makes things especially tricky in a multiball game.

If one of the mafia factions is wiped out does the other faction still kill every other day or do they upgrade to a faction kill every night

The remaining team will then kill every night. Everyone will be informed once one Mafia team is eliminated.

Much of where this site came from was birthed in Lostpedia Forums many years ago. One man brought this Mafia game to the forum, and a good group latched on and began developing games off the original formula, which didn't reveal the roles of nightkilled folk. This was just the normal way Mafia was played. We developed our Mafia methods over the years, across several forums, mostly unaware of the existence of a larger Mafia community on the Internet until a few years ago.

We developed some general rules, like no info-dumping or role-claiming, because such things were perceived to be ruining the game. A baddie team could spend the whole game masterfully crafting a sweet win, only to be tanked by Blurting Bob and his info role. It was regarded as cheap. Most games over the years have been open setup role madness, as well.

Now, we sometimes can claim, sometimes not. Some open, some closed. Some simple, some madness. Some janitored nightkills, some not. Some games are such offshoots that they barely resemble Mafia anymore.

It's not you can't make scum powerful enough to counter those cops. A couple invest immune baddies, framers, baddies that if investigated have it be redirected to specifically a townie. It doesn't ruin the game if you're creative.

Night 1 - The First Night

The League of Assassins were a force of quiet terror and intimidation wherever they go. They struck with deadly precision and startling intensity with every murder they carried out. Except tonight. They didn't kill anyone tonight.

* * * * *
Deathstroke stood in the shadows, his prey in sight. It wasn't simply Oliver Queen who caused his beloved Shado to be killed, it was this whole wretched city. They would pay, to the last man. Or in this case, woman. Deathstroke strode forward and unsheathed his sword as Juliets walked out of Big Belly Burger. Without a word he slashed her across the throat and she fell dead. Then he picked up her burger so it wouldn't go to waste.

* * * * *
Speedchuck wandered aimlessly through back alleys, drunk as he'd ever been. All of these weirdos invading the city was putting him on edge. Suddenly he noticed a beautiful woman in front of him. He approached to see if she needed anything, but it turns out all she needed was him...dead.

Juliets has been killed by Deathstroke.
Speed has been killed by Sara Lance.
Nobody has been killed by the League.
It is now Day 2. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

Interesting that nobody was killed by the league.

There are few protective roles in this game, one of which belongs to the league itself.

So we can discern they either shot Thea Queen or Deathstroke. Had they hit The Queen the shot should rebound though.

But it leads to a potentially interesting conclusion - someone who was a high priority target is actually the SK

Iris West Blog Post - 5/21/19

"Lots of posts so far, that Day 0 was livelier than most. Obviously, the extended length of it is a factor, I think players were eager to get back to Mafia'ing after a long lull on The Syndicate. Not that lots of posting is a problem, it is good to have more content out there. Good, but more time-consuming to take in.

Congrats to the Cooler voters that stuck with it. Optics are bad on Ultra based on this one, and maybe a couple of others as well. Needless to say, this was a great first lynch, and it should get the ball rolling!"

I think Speed was Mafia so I am happy that Sara got her kill out of the way early.

The Juliets kill is a strong indication that Deathstroke won't be helping us in this game.

Well... This is mostly action based reading.

Yesterday diring the scramble, mataharis wagon formed I beleive after Hazlenut, Lux, and Coolers.

I think it's very likely that Mataharis wagon formed in response to cooler being up to lynch making them likely teammate incompatible. (This is of course could also apply to Mattaharis relationship with Lux and Hazlenut if they are bad).

One of the key pushers for this was Dragomir and at the time I couldn't blame him. Matahari looked scrambling and I agreed. Though in this exchange I asked Dargomir who was the 2nd most scrambly (which many were, it wasn't a trick question) to which he responded idk.

This indicates to me that dragomir was not hunting, more so pushing. Answering anyone would've indicated hunting and analysis, but that was not done.

Dragomir was in effort to save a teammate.

Because that’s pretty inconsistent with the fact that we got a flip for Cooler’s lynch yesterday but not one for speed or juliets

Because that’s pretty inconsistent with the fact that we got a flip for Cooler’s lynch yesterday but not one for speed or juliets
Night kills probably mask it.

Uh uh. What do you mean I’ve never played a game where a night kill didnt also get a flip if lynches got them

I’m gonna have a stroke

Like yay! Two scum! But also if he wasnt then we’re operating on the idea that we already have 1 less scum in play than reality which could really fuck us over in the long run
Ignore it and move along, else you get a good tongueing.
