If you're a civilian, I think you would improve your game by looking at things on an individual basis. I'm a civilian and not on a mafia team.

Pairing people beforehand means you're making unproven assumptions. You have to burn through civilians in order to make those work most of the time.

"Caught in a contradiction" in my experience usually means you're dealing with a civilian. Not always, but usually. Civilians don't care about appearing consistent.
