Nutella you got a wand from Enrique night 1. What did this wand say/do? You’ve claimed it informed you of the existence of Sloonei, is this all?

I have reasons to think a mass claim is anti town and that's all I'm saying on the matter. I am somewhat confident nutella has also picked it up and has the same feeling. She was pushing for roleclaims earlier and isn't any more.

Why the heck are the wolves helping town
well I doubt that the wolves are helping town consciously. my current ideas are:
1) it's not intentional - giving town scraps of info is a side effect of some other ability they're using and is a downside to balance it. problem with this theory is that giving town info is a pretty big downside so the ability must be seriously powerful, yet we've seen nothing that helps scum to that extent.
2) the wolves are writing the notes themselves and putting misleading info into the notes.
3) some hidden mechanic is giving us the notes - there's nothing that says the events that happen this game have to be directly triggered by a player. many games have background mechanics and it wouldn't be completely nonsensical for a game like this to be "you have a bunch of redactions and mystery effects in your role PMs, but you get scraps of info to fill in the blanks a little better as time goes by"
I’m going for 2. No lost wolves then maybe

If it's 2 then I would heavily suspect that there's 2 wolves in the punk chat and they wrote the lost wolf in because they were upset at how many people in the main thread got spewed town off LC/Vulgard and wanted to cast doubt on associative reads by bringing in the existence of a lost wolf.

Also there's a mysterious mechanic that decides whether the punk roleblock goes through. If it's 3) and the notes were sent by a hidden mechanic then Occam's Razor says that both of those mechanics are linked somehow.

Maybe the mafia can veto the roleblock in exchange for giving town info, or something. Sort of a mix of 1) and 3).

All I received on N1 was the knowledge of the existence of the rolecard that was later revealed as Sloonei's.

I mean FG's flipped role was at least part if not all of the mechanic regarding the rb, or at least that seems to be the consensus interpretation

I guess? It feels instinctively weird for nanook to add a roleblock, and then have one player in the entire game who's immune to that roleblock, and then go and be like "YOUR ROLEBLOCK MAY NOT WORK FOR MYSTERIOUS REASONS", but I guess it's not beyond nanook

Marmot seemed to get a lot more flatfooted after I started turning around on TSP and was pretty strongly angling for a TSP exe earlier.

I said let's let TSP talk before we give him the axe. My suspicion didn't wane until he entered the thread though.

I don't want to lynch TSP anymore, that's true. Occam's Razor suggests he was the target of the nightkill, and therefore a reasonable assumption to be town, or at least not the person who performed the nightkill

sorry, just a wider mafia culture thing you probably haven't encountered before, but it's sort of a meme/fairly common thing to fakeclaim masons with someone as a way of stating a confident townread, that's all I was doing.

I think they fit together in theme— I’m a tough guy. At the beginning of the game I received an order and could choose whether to carry it out, then when both of my handlers were dead (the end of day 1). I could choose my orders.

Nutella strongly doubting the “roles were distributed randomly” theme and going instead with the “the mafia team had a specific set of roles designed in coordination with a lost wolf in the setup, breaking multiple of the stated rules, and the only person who knew this decided to claim it”

so LC and Vulgard, two wolves who died on D1, were TSP's "handlers"
or LC's thing passed on to Vul anyway, and that included/was related to being one of the "right people" I could shoot
except I continued to have "right people" after that, while TSP is claiming to have no more handlers
but maybe TSP is one now, whether he's a lost wolf or an unwitting lackey that's somehow town?
but I know Alison is one as well and idk what that would mean
maybe I'm reading too much into things

I took Alison out of the thread. I’m inclined to say I didn’t give Sloonei the note because it would mean Marmot is lying. But Marmot could be lying. If Marmot is lying, I probably gave Sloonei the note.
