Some of these effects looked neat on my phone, until discovering they're crap on a big screen and that I can't do anything about it anymore.

A 4th grader, a 1st grader, and a preschooler. This is my first year with all three. It's nice to start school while Epi is still home on summer break. He was able to help Ephraim with his Phonics today. "G for guitar! Like you play, Dad!"

Ephraim tried to write his own name for the first time. XD

Notice they are all still in pajamas, haha. Love homeschooling. I did feed them breakfast and make them brush their teeth at least.

Watching Quarantine 2 with my sister (quit after the first fifteen minutes), and proceeding to read up on rabies and parasites that alter behaviour.

The whole cordyceps thing is wearing out faster than the revival of zombies as an antagonistic story device did.

Seriously like the last 10 years, everything has had fucking zombies in it.

Since I got Hulu again I started watching Metalocalypse for the first time since I was in junior high. The dark humor isnt as lost on me as it used to be. It's actually pretty funny so far, in very fucked up ways.

Cordyceps is crazy as heck but I don't want to watch any more zombie films no matter how the idea is spun.

Marriage is like a three ring circus. First, there's the engagement ring. Then there's the wedding ring. And then comes the suffering.

Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.

I wish I had planned it, haha, but it does make the date even better than it already was.

In reality, it's literally the only possible Saturday, with a subsequent week, that I could take off in all of 2015, until December.

I'm not as familiar with the cordyceps idea as with zombies (though I tend to avoid stories with both incorporated in them). My sister was watching Wayward Pines the other day and I asked her if that wasn't similar to The Walking Dead. I suppose when you get down to the details, they're different, but it's all about the affected feeding on humans so...

ETA: I've now moved on from reading about parasites to watching YT videos about the influence of the Illuminati in society. Fun stuff.

My daughter is awesome. Earlier in the week I was listening to a Ben Folds & Ben Fold Five playlist on YouTube (the CD player on my office computer crapped out and Pandora bores me with its uninspired selection and repetitiveness) and saw the video for "Do It Anyway," which features the Fraggles. Last night at dinner I was whistling the Fraggle Rock theme and my daughter wanted to know what song it was. I played it for her a few times and now she has about half of the theme memorized and wants to watch Fraggle Rock.
We had a mini dance party last night before bed to the Fraggle Rock theme. :yay:

Most media get cordyceps victims wrong anyway. Like in the game The Last of Us. Those fucking infected stay alive forever and just get progressively stronger. Where in actuality, the fungus overrides the nervous system and takes the host to a very elevated area, and then when the host dies, the fungus grows an distributes more spores to start the cycle again. Infected in that game never die as a result of time or fungus growth like that. They just lose rational though and basic human instinct, and just hang out and eat stuff. They dont even need to eat people. They bent over backwards to make a zombie game without having to call them zombies and it annoys the hell out of me.

Made up a cocktail based on what we have, since I bought tequila today but we don't go grocery shopping until tomorrow.

I juiced a nectarine and shook it with tequila, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Poured it into a salt-rimmed martini glass.

It isn't very good. :martini:

I used to have a 3DS XL, but i ended up having to sell it for gas money when I was unemployed.

Since I'm 7 months into my job and just got a raise, I decided it was time to buy another one and play the game I didnt get to finish.
Found one brand new for $120. I fucking love Amazon.

I used the remaining nectarines to make a dessert. When I announced that I was going to do this, I had this conversation with my three yr old.
Ephraim: Mommy, yer tryin' be da goodest mommy.
Me: Thank you, sweetie.
Ephraim: But sometimes you do fings dats wrong.
Me: (chuckle) I do? Like what? (I had to hear his answer for this.)
Ephraim: Wike watch TV.
Apparently once you pop out a kid, you are no longer allowed to watch TV. :P

My first year of PhD didn't require shit. I just went, like, once a month for conferences and dropping by my supervisor. I can't tell if "fucked up" or "why would I care". I've been busy with other stuff, anyway.

It's slightly more than a whole month's wage for an assistant teacher (which I'll very likely start being this autumn), so I guess it's ok - even though that doesn't speak well of how low the teaching wages are.

I have a feeling, though, that the reason why this conducting masterclass keeps being held in my town/country (third year in a row, my second year accompanying) is because we're sort of "cheap labor" and have lenient standards; a student told me that back in Germany, France, Switzerland, no orchestra would accept (or "be patient enough", the way he phrased it) to work with sub-par students (which, frankly, most of them were).

Re: Random~

I didn't mean discussion, as much as life choices you force upon your partner until everything is ruined, because consensus is clearly unreachable in a timeframe fast enough to fulfill your primary desires and nothing (or nobody) else('s).

Yeah, I'd like less of that in girlfriends of the future.
