Do whatever the hell you want.

Why does Epignosis have to determine your vote behavior. Is he a civilian?
Umm. I did whatever the hell I wanted? Kind of a weird reaction from you. When did I say Epi decided my behavior? In that post it's clear I am doing the opposite of what he wants.

I have no idea if he is a civilian or not

This.

Les Mis I'm voting here because I love this musical. I love the story. I love the songs. I love the revolving stage. I love all of it :keys: :cloud9:

Nope, I was just calling Epi out on what I viewed as his hypocrisy of being so sure of himself about the LC-Sig-et al. teammate theory, turning out to be totally wrong, but still spiking the football after the lynch result was a good one anyway. Sloonei and Scotty had much more honest and humble reactions that Mr. Pink:

Maybe I misinterpreted his short post but in my view, you don't get to be wrong about a lynch result and still brag about said lynch result.

My theory, however, that at least one of Long Con, Cobalt, and Golden being a baddie is now 100% correct. So... boo-ya! :slick:

I think I have the bit you are referring to, I'm only missing the first sentence. I don't think it gives us much about 'how' - even solved, the words seem intentionally vague.

I'm wondering what the unclear words are people are referring to, and if they are the words I found hardest to solve. The word before the brackets took me a while, but when I solved it I realised it was flavour text.
I wanna speculate on this again. I asked Dom if it was ok, and again, as long as it doesn't copy and paste word for word what you find, it will count as "speculation". So like, I know that:
-Wildhorn's team kills on even nights (tonight).
-He [could have] corrupted one of Merrily, Primrose, or Whistle.

Here's what I'm unclear on still Golden. When he selects someone at night, he does [something]. I'm still missing those few words, and even though it's probably vague, it might help in figuring this thing out.

If we can nip this in the bud whether or not someone already has been corrupted, then this PM can be null and void.
I have as much revealed as you have. And either I am missing words in the location you have described, or it is intentionally vague.

Not at all. All I want is to lynch Long Con.

I think I have been quite helpful and have offered some keen observations.
So in response to my plea for help with the PM, you disregard it with a vague statement. Can you help me with pointing to what help you've brought to the discussion pertaining to the PM? Because I may have missed it somewhere...
While I haven't offered anything related to the PM's I have participated this game otherwise and done exactly what I said I've done.
Scotty wrote:Listen, it's is your prerogative if you don't feel that sharing that info with the group is beneficial to the civ game. But I think the benefit is greater for res to have the info, and by withholding that info without cause or concern is truly suspicious from my point of view.
I don't understand the accusation here. Is it even one? I don't think I know anything that hasn't already been shared.
---I wasn't referring to your supposed helpfulness throughout the first few days in your reads. My point is that you haven't shared your thoughts on really anything that had to do with any PMs, ever. I was hoping for a reason--any reason; you just glossed over it after I specifically asked for input. Like, even saying something like "I don't feel comfortable discussing my thoughts in the forum because I think it might give mafia a leg-up." Now you aren't the only person to ignore that phase of discussions, but whereas someone like TurnipHead has been MIA, you actually responded with a non-answer of "all systems go," as if that's helpful in any capacity. It makes you appear dodgy as balls.
Well as I've just stated, I have solved the PM with the tildes and the Wheel of Fortune letters, but it appears I was way behind a few other players in doing so.

I don't believe in stifling discussion, I just don't really have anything to say.

OK. Thanks for your attempt at helping, MM!
See? Was that so hard?

While I have you: I did not anticipate how bad LC was, so I'm backing off my recent suspicions of you, MM. I'm just going to attribute them to my assumption that everyone was gung-ho about the PMs as much as I was :omg: So right now, I have you back at neutral. Maybe independent.

linki- I see that. At least you aren't posting stream of conscious famous speeches through the insanifier. That would be pretty stifling.
My frustration was that I didn't KNOW you had solved it. You didn't say anything about it really, just meandered around it. That's why I jumped on you. But again, I'm backing off and attributing that just to how you play. Good read on LC

I love puzzles. At one point, I said I was going to go solve it (when I was home and could), but after I did, it seemed to be a moot point since I missed the discussion on it.

If you think it will help us catch any baddies, my ears are open. But I feel like the only thing it tells us about that is that there may be one more baddie than is listed in the role list. Oh, and I guess we know who attempted to kill Golden, which Epignosis already has a theory about that.

I wonder if these polls dictate which PM Dom sends us? Interestingly enough, the "Do you want to read from a book" poll only had one person voting 'no'. And that was Epi.

Epi, did you receive a PM Night 2 pertaining to a book? If so, what was it? Was it any different than what the rest of us received?

Might not be a bad idea to split up on this poll so we have multiple interpreters if we receive different messages.

For me specifically to have been corrupted? It's not a completely unlikely scenario, but I'd say I only have as much of a chance of being corrupted as everyone else, if that's even a thing in this game. My interpretation of last night's message was that I was the attempted kill and the two hooded figures had nothing to do with me. Depending on which team was doing the kill that night, it would especially make little sense for the same team to try to do both things to me on the same night.
Do you have any particular reason not to trust me right now?

I don't have any reason to not trust you right now, but I disagree that you have as much chance of being corrupted as anyone. If I had the power to corrupt any player I wanted, I'd choose the most trusted, and I think that's you. You wouldn't have to change your game much, so I don't know if we would be seeing it, especially not immediately. It's not like I plan on voting for you, but I think we can't ignore the option, especially in light of that PM and the fact that the two hooded guys high fived each other.

Epi, did you receive a PM Night 2 pertaining to a book? If so, what was it? Was it any different than what the rest of us received?
That was Night 1 and old me died.

Is the word you are looking for 'targets'? It honestly doesn't say anything that he does. He just selects (targets) them.

Might not be a bad idea to split up on this poll so we have multiple interpreters if we receive different messages.
The epi that voted no was NKed, so I'm guessing he would have got whatever MP voted for.

Working on some vote analysis but it is Daddy-Daughter time. Be back after Fancy Nancy, Color Wonder, dinner, Dairy Queen, and bedtime stories.

anyone have a theory as to why we received the message we received on Night 1? We seem to all agree that it's a role that does something to one of those three other roles, but why were we told about that role specifically?

Well you know what would be interesting, Sloonei?
I hadn't thought of this before. If Dom isn't randomly sending out roles, then maybe he's sending out ones that fit together?
There were 4 unique PMs for Day 1, right? Well, there are 4 independents. 1 was seemingly obviously pertaining to one of the independents. Maybe the other 3 are as well?

And the book reading PM (we can say it's about Wildhorn, just can't copy and paste) was a baddie.

Maybe Dom is systematically revealing the abilities of bad roles.

As for corruption, I'm still uncertain, but I would assume every night LC had a chance to pick a player he thought was one of the 3 plays, and if he guesses right they're corrupted in whatever capacity that means.

I can't guarantee I'm right, but what I have is 'might happen'.

I think LC only had two chances. Night one and night 3.

I think there is a decent chance he was successful on night 3 (hence the hooded figures).

I also think there is a high chance that 'corrupt' = 'recruit' because of the asymmetric construction of the mafia teams. It's a common approach I've seen used before (and in fact I think I've used it myself).
