Interesting we have a multiply voter maybe or another factor.

Know I don't even need to think about this poll question role claiming is in my opinion a Fail, one of the worst things to ruin a good game, hinting is all well and good but once you claim? Nay it ruins the game for sure.

Does anyone think I'm cum?
FYI I got in trouble for the cum stuff.

Role claiming is defo a viable tactic if timed right, and probably the one that has yielded me better results than anything else on RYM.

Tactic totally depends. It can be used strategically. Especially with false claims. Of course, those can backfire. But still, it can be a good tactic. And role claiming in general can be good. But it's a risk. Always. It can suck and take the fun out of the game. It totally depends on context and on the game and in how it's used.

I said it depends. One of my greatest ever wins relied on a role claim. But it is also a big risk that can turn into a total fail (*cough* MovingPictures is the cop! *cough*)

"It depends" is the cop-out answer and anyone voting for it should have votes against them day 6 count double.

No, it's not. Role claims can totally suck. Role claims can be brilliant moves on either end.

I also know that our host agrees with that opinion.

And, really, if you haven't seen both ends of the spectrum, then keep playing.

I would have put it depends but I hate role claiming with a passion so I didn't. :srsnod:

It really does depend though I've counterclaimed cop with a red check on me and got the player lynched in the past, but then there are games were the town mass claims and catches the mafia like that. I find it a much more boring and not as challenging play style

My favorite fake claim was claiming Spike in Angel mafia and making up all sorts of shit about having BTSC with DD, who was dead. But I only had to do that because a baddie on the other team was about to be lynched, so he outted himself and revealed he had info on me being bad, which I think is not chill.

My favorite real claim was when I outted myself as a baddie in The 4400 Mafia in order to broker a deal with the civvies against an independent, and then I turned on them all and won.

And then there's all the times that civvies claim a role just because they're lazy.

Yeah, mass claiming in an open setup isn't fair at all. I'm used to closed setups though and there's a lot of flexibility for fake claims and such in those games.

For the record, I didn't role claim. I alignment claimed. Just like every single person Davies when the profess that they are civ. If people have a problem with that, they have a problem with mafia in general.

Ah yeah most games with alot of claiming are open in my experience and when you are killed/die your role is revealed. So really takes the fun outta the game.

Claiming your own role in order to save your ass and do nothing else and out baddies?
Lame

Claiming to cause chaos-- I'm okay with that. These are *~usually~* false claims.

I think most people know how I feel about this.

If there is some sort of tribunal judging this tie... it is unlike juliets to pop in at the last minute, leave a vote and peace out. She would want to speak on her own behalf. She would want to explain that she hadn't read the thread or explain why she hadn't been around for the second half of the phase. Something's up.

I would guess it is not something dictated by any particular faction, but more likely something map related. I'd prefer to see juleits lynched, but I see the case on both so I'm ok with the outcome, provided the resolution is that one of them is lynched.

Epi do you still think dom is a badder?

Do you think I am a badder Epi? Cuz I think u r based Epi master of civ fwiw. I also think dom is civ. I rection wilgtown outed himself as a badder switching to chucklehead the way he did.

I think this game is hard because even the scum can hunt so all the hunterooni is tight and ginuwine. The only ponies that are badders via threvidence are the ones like what Wilgtown is doing. Wilgtown is mecha scum.

That really was all I can say. If you're sticking with that opinion than I'll just have to respect that and hope that no one else shares it. And you're right, no matter how I spin it, the Luke and Bugla interaction doesn't look great for me.

-= Cataclysmic =-

As the gathering waited for the judge's decision, they began to investigate the strange explosion.

"Hey, look at this!" the Splinter Twin, distracting the nervous Canucklehead with his hologram, grabbed her bag and took a device out of it. Canuck spun and tried to grab it, but he snatched it out of her reach. "Is... is this some sort of bomb?"

"A bomb!" cried Yin. "Look what it says, 'Pulse Emitter'... it is a bomb!" The Feral Pixie growled and slunk into the shadows.

"No, that's not exactly..." Canuck stammered. "Why would I do that, juliets was-"

But it was too late, the gathering was already turning into a mob. No one would listen to Canuck's pleas as she tried to explain what the emitters were for, and by the time the judge returned with a decision, they had already lynched her.

Canucklehead was Cataclysm, an Indy role. Please continue the night in an orderly fashion.
