Can you guys be just a little patient and let him finish it so we can judge whether the results are good or not? If they are not you can vote for him all you want. But voting him now because you can't see the usefulness of something that has been advertized as having a hidden goal is moronic. Voting for him because he is risking being night killed is triple moronic. For all I know this exercise could end in day 1, when every active player answers it. Or he could be night killed, but then that means he was... a civ?
You don't lynch someone to prevent mafia from killing them, that's almost as bad as the idea that a civ has to resign themselves to get lynched.
If Epi is a wagon I will make whatever vote is necessary to prevent him from being lynched. Because right now my curiosity wants me to know how this exercise ends.
What does it risk?
I believe that.Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:37 pm
Because it's something I oppose. I don't lynch full inactives early because I expect them to be replaced. I can probably link you 5 examples of games from the last 2 years where I said the same thing.

I lapsed for a few minutes, when I decided I didn't like either of the wagons and Rabbit was easier to lynch than them.Marmot wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:40 pmI believe that.Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:37 pm

What bugs me is that you seemed to just remember a particular voting strategy that you were using yet generally oppose.
Protip: in an open game setup with info dumping allowed, people are going to be sharing info.Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:40 pm Protip: players with lynch redirects usually don't get investigation roles.
Because that's broken ofc.
Like I said, won't be the 10th time civ Epi refuses to do perfectly reasonable tasks because he's stubborn as fuck.Iron_Dwarf wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:40 pm I still haven't really heard Epignosis talking about nutella.
Ah so I did, so sorry about that -- I definitely had you in there while editing and you somehow got deleted. You should be right about next to where Sprityo is. Pretty solid civ read
Sanctions? Could have been a pause that extended unintentionally. Honestly his "no" was worse than the extended absence in my eyes. What possible motivation is there for a civ to not give somebody a role?dunya wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:41 pmI didn't like it either, he delayed the thread. People were tossing around the word salad a lot earlier in the thread, all these comprehensive (rainbow) lists should be seen as salad too then to be consistent.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 1:19 pm
Dunya Town
JJJ scum
Epi ???
Colin null
Kyle Mafia but I can’t explain it
DDL maybe scum
Missing players scum
Nutella Town
Quin town
Kenway town
LongCon scumish
If info is out in the open you don't need a lynch redirect. Just vote for the person or something.dunya wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:42 pmProtip: in an open game setup with info dumping allowed, people are going to be sharing info.Dragon D. Then I decided my ideology comes first and i'd rather lynch a neutral read such as Nutella or vote for a bad read now than do what is essentially a RNG lynch.
...dunya wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:40 pm Kenway doesn't manipulatively lie just to win. He's incapable of it. If he's scum and you ask him if he's town, sure, he'll say he's town (unlike Glorf), but he won't lie about game mechanics, and being confused about some things that BTSC would for sure have cleared up, the same way Long Con would for example.
But how does that make a lynch swap better? Absent hard info you're just substituting your judgment for the collective judgment of the thread, which is generally bad (absent specific weird scenarios like multiple teams, etc).dunya wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:42 pmProtip: in an open game setup with info dumping allowed, people are going to be sharing info.Dragon D. Don't think it means much. I've seen enough cases of mafia players bailing out on situations they should be ashamed for in all the games i've played/hosted.Marmot wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:44 pmHow do you feel about my defending rabbit?Dragon D. Nope. Salad is a way of adding "content" without meaning. Rainbows are reads, which are content.Iron_Dwarf wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:44 pmPeople were tossing around the word salad a lot earlier in the thread, all these comprehensive (rainbow) lists should be seen as salad too then to be consistent.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 1:19 pm

Out of curiousity, you liked DDL's case on Kenway.nutella wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:42 pmAh so I did, so sorry about that -- I definitely had you in there while editing and you somehow got deleted. You should be right about next to where Sprityo is. Pretty solid civ read
Woke up to 300+ posts to catch up on, I'm almost done and @dunya I see you asked me a couple things, I'll get to those soon. And I really don't want to get lynched you guysI don't blame some of you for not knowing my meta, but I promise if you give me past my wishy-washy day 1 to get comfortable I can be a valuable scumhunter.
So far I've liked DDL's points on Kenway (and huh I vaguely remember serge) and I feel similarly re: Kites, but I think the case on Quin is the strongest right now -- I still have like 2 pages to read so I'm not sure if he's gotten more votes and I will probably end up voting out of self-preservation if possible (unless Epi is telling the truth about his switch), but for now I think Quin has been looking pretty bad, he posted a bunch of fluff during the draft but once the actual phase started his activity dropped off and he barely provided any content, including saying he had no scum reads.
[VOTE: Quin] aubergine
The home index page also shows the current Syndicate time, which I will refresh and follow when hosting.
I'm confused, did you state your belief on not voting for players with no posts on Day 1 in a game that you are hosting?Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:50 pm @Marmot
If you want an example of the game i'm currently hosting.

oh wait.... shit. I think I fucked up and my vote doesn't count. I thought someone had voted for Quin before that. My passive is I can't put the first vote on someone. Uhh what's the tally

Who's case on Quin did you like? Same question about Kites.

It's just an example on why I doubt a player can ever be "ashamed" of being inactive.
