To my one and only mother,
It’s finally that time, mom. After months of training and movement, I am able to write you. I have arrived to my deployed position, which I can only describe by name for security reasons. I have only been able to contact you and Maria to this point, so please let Hal know I say hi and send all the best wishes yadda yadda. I’ve spent most of my time so far getting to know my company.
There’s one I don’t feel great about, mom. I think it’s something in his manner, like he is eager to make jokes but little else. His introduction was awkward, in a way that makes me wonder about his authenticity. He goes by Bob. I think he’s a Colonel, so I’d better tread carefully. Or was it colonial? No, that’s not a rank.
I promise I am well! I get through the night dreaming of your signature pot roast. I miss that nearly as much as I miss dad.

Turns out I had a worse case than anticipated but thankfully I had a great surgeon and the operation went fine. In addition I gave my students their Final Exam that same week so I didn’t have a chance to start grading until post-surgery and I was absolutely down for the count for over a week after. I didn’t anticipate it but I made these Final exams too intensive to grade apparently because the last few days were filled with hectic grading and I barely made my deadline with grades due today.
Needless to say it’ll be good to finally relax and play this game again with you all.

hey true story I had a double hernia operation when I was 2. I don't remember it so it must not have been too bad but I did have the scars for a long time.

So I looked at c-bobs posts because of Jay's letter and what Jay says is true but there are another 5 or so people who haven't said much either. Jay this may not fit into your letter writing but is there a reason you picked c-bob as opposed to say Turnip Head or blooper or nova or Quin to name a few? They've made comments but not said much.
I'm having a hard time with suspects, there are a couple of people I'm leaning civ on but then I have a whole lot of meh. I hope we have some good participation today.

My guess is he expects more from me, but the deal is I just got SSBU last night so glwt.
(Nah I mostly don't have strong thoughts. Nutella getting stuck in seems like a good look I guess. I wasn't even planning on playing this game at first so I'm still gearing up.)

People who played the games these items are from (are they all from games?) have any idea about them? Since Epi says they may be cursed, I am not so sure it much matters what we think of the items, and it's kind of a "which ones we like the sound of" crapshoot.

I did notice your post again that she's giving off Dominick vibes - what does that mean exactly? (I remember Dom's posts as short and to the point, sometimes abrupt, but that's not what I'm seeing in Luna.)
