Re: Chess Mafia [DAY 2]
Michelle has some hunt in her but is trending downward with that garbo vote.
Then again, scum Michelle knows she can't lynch me and if I'm clearing her, why antagonize me?
QED she's probably still town.

Why do you think Epi is town? Keep in mind infodumping is legal in this game.

Re: Chess Mafia [DAY 2]
Yeah that seems unlikely too. Not as out of the realm of possibility, but that’s irrelevant tbhJackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 4:03 pmAgreed.NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 2:29 pm Also 3 scum in this game, especially when one of them has the grab bag of nice things that Colin had, is absurd.
Plus Colin never gets lynched with 2 votes if there are 3 mafia and they only need 2 mislynches to win.

Re: Chess Mafia [DAY 2]
One scum flipped already and Jack says are max 2 scum. But is impossibe to be 1 so the "max2" is in fact 2 because 3 are too many in a game of 8.
Sounded for me like he search for a derp clear.

Okay, yeah, it also two scum minimum or the game would be over.

There's no fake derp clear attempt. I've talked a lot about knowing Colin flipped mafia.

Michelle, give me your thoughts on Epi, Nanook, Sig and Tony.
That's the only reasonable POE from my perspective but 3 of them should be town.
I'm thinking we lynch Epi -> Tony -> Nanook and lose if it's Sig atm but I'm not settled on that.

Re: Chess Mafia [DAY 2]
As it happens, nothing was with the whole Chess thing. It ended up entirely irrelevant because the game ended so quickly. How it would have worked under more typical circumstances:
Whenever a White pawn is captured, that player loses his bonus .5 vote (if not already used). If a White power piece is captured, that player's power role is eliminated entirely and rendered vanilla.
Whenever two Black pawns are captured, one of the mafia members loses their bonus .5 vote (if not already used). If a Black power piece is captured, the black faction loses one shot of their power role abilities of a strength that depends upon the strength of the captured piece (Queen > Rook > Knight = Bishop).
With even one more phase, I think we get into that. Y'all started very defensively, but the board was set up for a slaughter soon. A lot of Night 2 abilities would have been cancelled.
But, yanno.

I could only laugh as I wrote up the Colin lynch. Obviously that was a very lucky break. He could have just voted to save himself and added a .5 if he'd been online. Then the whole game is different.

If I hadn’t been out to the movie, I’d have moved off Epi.
His “it’s not a bad plan but it’s wrong” stuff was kinda confincing and Creature has kinda softed a green check on him.
Birds of Prey was pretty fun though.

If it wasn't clear, I gave the robot calculator half of the black moves to prevent "so and so was online when the black side made X move, thus they're mafia" type crap. sig did observe a connection there at the last minute, though those close matches were actually the robot. When Nanook made a move I generally waited a short period before posting it.

Re: Chess Mafia [CHECKMATE]
If anyone had seen it, I'd have to decide what the damage actually is. If it's just one person and they indicate to me that they have no idea what the significance of the post was, I probably trust that claim and take no further action. If multiple people saw it and/or someone tells me their perspective of the game has been influenced, I have to contend with the possibility of replacement or more drastic measures -- or at the least re-posting the deleted content so that everyone is playing on level ground.
In this particular case I wasn't likely to do anything drastic. The game was looking pretty over as soon as sig caught Nanook. I'll obviously allow things to play out however they play out, but it seemed unlikely that anything was going to be ruined. Still, I felt it'd be nice to know if anyone had seen it to give myself the opportunity to consider courses of action instead of just hoping the game was unaffected.

It was an epic conjunction of Civ-abilities that deserves some sort of Socky recognition.
