I agree with this, if by mix of players you mean players of varying levels of suspicion. Or do you mean players of various playing styles? Or players of varying post-frequency levels? Or players with various armpit hair lengths?

It's more that I believe being in the loser's bracket carries more weight. Yes the winner's bracket eliminates more people every day, but the losers's bracket is the one that actually removes people from the game.

I want to send Alison, Gavial, Tim, Mac and Daisy for obvious reasons. TSP is my own scum read, Made made a big deal about wanting to go, and then I had one vote leftover so I used it on an inactive who I wanted to see more from: G-Man.

Since I missed the first half of the day phase, I won’t hold the “inactive” label against you. I’m old, have kids, and only a little bit of time for playing mafia behind my wife’s back. Don’t expect me to use even half of my daily post limit.

At the very least, we’re on the same wavelength about sending a mix to the losers bracket. I think we should send no more than two locktown-esque players to the losers bracket. We need people we can trust down there to help sort out the riff-raff.

One last comment before wall post.
If I had to choose I’d prefer to stay in the winner bracket so I can get more stuff brewing with players like HW, Long Con, Kyle, Mog and Wigly.
I feel if they were all in the winners bracket without a power active player it wouldn’t go as well.

I lied. I may not need to do much more wall posts today anyways but let me elaborate on what is probably going to happen, the way we are going let’s see:
Falcon, Wilgy, Mog, LC, Kyle, HK and G-Man

Which haven’t really been participating much in the game and if there’s a scum within them they are almost always going to try to aim for thread control.
That’s why I want to stay in the winners bracket to ensure they don’t do that and try and get more out of them.
Heck, LC and Kyle haven’t even posted yet.

Although if I’m being honest I think 1 of the 7 should go into the losers bracket so I can have TSP with me.

Furthermore his reads are shallow and lacking insight which means he is just using the good old post until they read you town strategy rather than critically thinking about who the mafia is.

The third scum is probably Tim and not an afk because Tim switched from being friendly to me to suddenly wanting me gone the moment I attacked Daisy. He soft endorses the narrative that I am scum by pointing out the possibility of me powerwolfing the loser's bracket. Finally his giving exact ratios on how many votes he wants to assign to each target is too logical to be town Tim. He has way too limited interactions with Mac and tends to talk about Mac rather than to him which doesn't make sense because they're both loud and confrontational players so if there was no tie between them they would naturally crash into each other and debate but instead Tim is stepping back and making general statements meant to influence the rest of the game thread's opinion rather than smack into Mac head on.

I fail to see how everything is what u claim and I have been playing scummy. you are barking up the wrong tree. now I am town and I don't mind going into the second team, however you wanting to put me there because you think I am scum is what I have issue with. I have seen wolves play this way and try to steam role plsyers they think are weak towns and easy misyeets. either way if u r town or wolf if you don't change your mindset you are going to get alot of town killed. idc if you won this way as town. that is not the point. the point is you decided that this is how the game is going to go and to heck with anyone else. that might be fun for u but literally no one else. you can't and do not know 100% who the mafia is and who the town is. you are completely wrong about me. btw, this is typically how I am with MacDougall. regardless if his alignment i like poking him and fussing with him because that is how I can figure out his alignment. we both know it is harmless and I like to meme a bit.

as for tim im leaning town with him. I rather tim not go into the second bracket to early in game. I'm not confident nor will I be convinced that we sent all 3 mafia unto the second bracket day 1. I rather if tim is town not go there into at least day 2 or 3. definitely by 3. if tim is town he can definitely find and determine if we got all 3 mafia there. once we have all 3 there on day 2 he joins them. then tim could go to finish them off. idk if my idea is dumb but tim when randed town is a very strong town leader and he will be very helpful in sorting out the scums. you don't pull your goalie in the first period. you don't send tim to team 2 on day 1. anyone who thinks differently and they randed town im going to think is playing anti-town. definitely by day 2 we can be more confident about all 3 mafia being in the second bracket.. maybe day 3. depending on nite actions etc etc.

I don't recall ever playing a game with gavial. I only ever played 2 games besides this one in this forum. as for how im playing since last game. I really don't change my playstyle much regardless of my alignment. I'm boring me. when I'm scum I tend to be less derpy. when I rand town it isn't until about day 2 or 3 I get myself together.

people make theories and assumptions all the time. that is the nature of these games. some are very good at this. i know here in this forum that nite actions and vote count analysis and flips is used more heavily, however this isn't the case in other forums. iirc mu uses a mix of both. where I learnt to play mafia games 9 games out of 10 nite actions and flips and even wills get thrown out the window and lynching happens by who can sway/sweet talk the players. I immediately saw u as a persuasive talker and immediately went to I need to try to figure this player out. I wasn't panicked nor stressed out but I can see how it may have looked thst way.

I hope this explains some things on how im playing and why I asked so many questions and then went on to explain what my thoughts on you are. I don't think it makes me mafia or scummy at all. I think it shows a different playstyle and mindset.

Supplement me with some clarifying information, if you would please.

How did you arrive at that list of seven? Is that who has the fewest votes so far, or is that some kind of read list?

If there is a scum within that list, are you implying that any of those seven will try to control the thread in Day 2? Controlling the convo is not my MO, and several of that seven are far less talkative than the rest of the game.

For what it’s worth, I’m in the “LB is more important than the WB” camp. More damage can be done in the LB, because those decisions are final. The WB important in that we don’t want more than one baddie sneaking by in there until the merger happens, but we need people we can trust in the LB.

No I thought Daisy was scummy before the Mac vote.

Tim/Mac/Daisy might well be the exact team to be honest.

I want level-headed people who will listen to reason and who I am comfortable playing with in the loser's bracket. Marmot, LC, Moghedien, Made. Would be a good loser's bracket team, and leaves the loud obvious town in Gavial/falcon to dominate winner's. Poison is loud, but not obvious town, but not a bad pick for winner's, I think her alignment will become increasingly obvious the more she interacts with Gavial because of how high volume and naked their playstyles are.

I'm not entirely sure where to sort TSP but I'm not always on the same wavelength as him and I'm less sure about his townieness than other slots so I'm fine having him in a different bracket than me.

Everyone is anxious, or at least careful, about posting when they're guilty. If they weren't, it would almost be impossible to scum read people. Mac is just posturing here. Quietness is a classic and reliable scum tactic, and I don't think Mac is somehow exempt from ever using it.

Yeah I'm not seeing it as a reaction test so much as a possible "guilt by association" play on Mac. Even for you getting Mac shoved over won't be easy, so having the "here's his team" associative reads adds useful heft. My immediate concern is that if Alison is wolfing I see sending these eight as basically killing four town.
