As far as I can recall, before this post your only beef with either me or dom is that 'we couldn't read you'. Which is it - we can't read you, or we're bad?
Hmm... this is a point back against LC and a strong one at that. Especially given I do actually have a decent history of reading LC that he has acknowledged and used to his benefit when we are both town in the past. I would think he might more naturally think I could be lying about my read, or at least imply it, but here he simply seems to say he's willing to vote for me for the first time while all his emphasis has been on my inability to read him.

The first Persian invasion of Greece was surprisingly brief. After the defeat at Marathon, the Persian forces were split in two. The surviving Athenians (most of those who began the engagement) made haste over the 26 miles back to Athens under the command of Militiades, running across the open land under the weight of full armor and equipment. This is the origin of what is now called the "marathon" run, which elapses approximately 26 miles. The other half of the Persian fleet had rounded the Attican landmass to Athens, but they arrived too late. The Athenian forces had returned to reinforce the city, and the Persians were repulsed. Datis and Artaphernes were forced to retreat back to the homeland.
Darius was not pleased with this course of events, and he vowed to return to Greece with the mightiest force the Persian Empire could assemble. His plans were put off due to trouble arising in his Egyptian territories in 486 BC, and he died before his dream could come to fruition. Xerxes, the son of Darius, took the throne in his stead. For Xerxes, the return campaign to Greece became a personal obsession. He devoted massive manpower to the project of preparing a new invasion force which would dwarf the first, and by 480 BC he was ready to move.
Xerxes led an army of tens of thousands through the peninsula of modern day Turkey, and amassed a massive naval force at the coast. He intended to walk directly into Greece both by land and sea. He crossed into Greek territory via the Hellespont, a narrow strip of water separating the Mediterranean and Black Seas. He ordered his men to construct a bridge across the water comprised entirely of the ships in his navy, an incredible undertaking to which Xerxes was fiercely dedicated. A few months into the construction of this bridge of ships, a storm carried over the territory and laid waste to the bridge. Instead of determining a new route across, Xerxes simply declared that his men would build it again. And so they did.

Sloonei reads nothing like Sloonei from GoC at all. There he was incisive and had a nose for blood. I posted yesterday that my vote for him and suspicion of him has zilch to do with his time pressures at all. It's what he's doing with the time he does have.

I swear to you all, my theory of the game is strong. It isn't necessarily right, but the links are there. Read it, think about it.
