More like the alarm goes off, I roll over and capture Luna with snuggles, and then we're just stuck. Until one of us goes "Okay, we're going to have to work past 6 to get our hours in."

Worst trait: I can be indecisive to a fault.
Best trait: I always think the best of people, and sometimes legitimately don't notice if I'm being slighted (part of the social awkwardness, maybe?).

I have taken the myers briggs test multiple times, and always forget what I am. So as of today, I am a ISFP-A (Introverted, Observant, Feeling, Prospecting, Assertive), using this test here (which is very nicely laid out!): https://www.16personalities.com/isfp-personality

damn, this hits home for me too. I used to be pretty naive even, but repeated disappointments have made me more wary of people these days tbh. I just didn't want to see the bad in people, and would much rather see the good until they did something bad to me personally.

I love my cats, but I don't know if I would classify myself as strictly a "cat person," I've freaked out plenty over cute, friendly dogs.
do you play any sports?
I enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee, and just signed up for a local women's league starting this Sunday!

I traveled a lot when I was younger with my family. We lived in the Marshall Islands for a few years, and visited Hawaii quite a bit during that time.
If money was not an obstacle, I would go so many places. I would especially love to visit Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.

It's the greatest outdoor game there is. What's your preferred way to throw? Do you fancy yourself better suited to passing the disc or getting open/catching it?

I assume you're a fellow Ultimate player? I actually prefer to throw flicks, which seems backwards from most people I know. I'm definitely much better at getting open and catching than making good passes. Hoping to improve on that more this season.

I would play every day if I could only find the time and the people. It is my favorite hobby period, with its only sports peer being table tennis. The flick is also my preferred toss, with a forehand grip and a a low release. It's where I get the most power and deep accuracy. Sometimes I rely on it too much though and lose the standard backhand toss.

Uh. Yeah I'm obsessed. Somehow though despite living on a college campus, finding people to play with is harder than ever. When/where did you get started with the world's greatest sport?

I don't even understand you guys. Frisbee is something you play with your dog. Or at the beach maybe. How is it an actual competitive outdoor sport and you have techniques and shit. :p

I started playing about two years ago after connecting with an Ultimate Frisbee group at a student organization fair on my college campus. I then discovered the Huntsville Ultimate Club through the people I met, which has its own competitive teams, and organizes open sign-up leagues. Wish you could come play with us, JJJ!

And dunya , it's quite an organized sport with rules and lingo, but the cool thing about it is that everyone takes on referee responsibility during games, like pausing the game if some one is injured, and calling in or out of bounds.

I'm a Gemini (honestly just had to go look that up :p).
what kind of music are you into?
Okay, this is a difficult one for me. I like anything that "sounds good," which is subjective, I know. This includes some Bluegrass, Celtic/Irish folk tunes, Classical, Rock, Indie/Alternative Rock, Progressive Rock, Pop, and Country. Sorry for such a broad answer, but I'm pretty open minded when it comes to music.

No, not really. However I do enjoy watching anime series (thanks to speedchuck's influence).

This may sound cliche, but my parents are an inspiration to me. They've accomplished so much in their lives, and I would love to be where they're at one day. :)
beyond playing ultimate Frisbee, do you have any special talents we don't know about?
I am somewhat fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), but it's been a while since I've used it, so I'm reluctant to say that it's a "talent".
what's your favorite food?
I have quite a few favorite foods (not picky at all), but I'll go with coconut milk ice cream. It just tastes so pure and good.
are you a coffee or tea drinker?
I really enjoy coffee, but I do drink tea occasionally too.
what are your favorite pizza toppings?
Mushrooms, sausage, and black olives.

I regret joining Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honors Society. I was encouraged to join because it would look good on my resume, so I did, but I got zero benefit out of it. It was purely a status thing. I spent time volunteering to stay in, and went to group meetings for about four semesters, and finally quit my last semester, because I felt it was a waste of time. As far as regrets go, this is pretty minor. I just don't regret much of what I've done. :P
Do you want to have kids in the future? How many?
I would like to have kids one day! I think 3 or 4 is a good number.
What's your favorite and least favorite house chore?
Favorite? I'm supposed to enjoy house chores? lol, maybe sweeping outside if it's a nice day.
Least Favorite: Cleaning up the kitchen. I will gladly put away laundry and clean the floors while procrastinating cleaning up dirty dishes.

how long have you been playing mafia?

apart from mafia, what are some things you do for fun?

Oh boy, here we go!

(Word of warning, I'm traveling this weekend, so I may not respond much until Sunday. But I promise I will get to all the questions!)
is your name really Bob?
Nope!
what do you do for a living?
I'm an engineer. My degree is in aeronautical/aeronautical engineering, but my job is really more just mechanical engineering. I do work on things that go onto planes, though.
where in the states do you live? are you originally from there? do you like living there?
I currently live in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. I'm originally from Texas, and living here is... ok.
how long have you been playing mafia?
I just checked, and I joined HCRealms (the original site I come from) on March 28, 2015... so almost exactly 3 years!
apart from mafia, what are some things you do for fun?
My current main hobby is the Game of Thrones Card Game - I'm very involved in the online community there, and am actually the main community rules expert at the moment (doing things like FAQs for every new pack). I'm actually travelling to play that this weekend.

Other than that, I enjoy boardgames and video games, currently mostly Stellaris. I also like pretty much any sport, although I don't play any nearly as much as I would like anymore.
are you married? do you have kids? any pets?
Yep! This year will be our 5th anniversary. No kids yet, but we have a dog named Jake who sometimes demands our attention like a child. He can be very dramatic.

omg, my dad is an aeronautical engineer too. he branched out and doesn't work in engineering anymore. he went back and studied architecture actually, and still works in construction till today.

It was a middle school nickname, actually, and I ended up adopting it as my internet pseudonym for reasons unknown even to me.
I just checked, and I joined HCRealms (the original site I come from) on March 28, 2015... so almost exactly 3 years!
wow! I would have imagined a lot longer. How did you get into online mafia? do you play it in real life too?
HCRealms is a website for a game called Heroclix, which I briefly played a few years ago. I saw the mafia section and it intrigued me, so I signed up, joined a game, and ended up loving it. I've never played in real life, though.
My current main hobby is the Game of Thrones Card Game
I have no idea what that is. What is that?

also: fav character from GoT?
It's a collectible card game, sort of like Magic only way less popular. Way better community though.

And hmm... I like the show's Tormund, and Jaime in the books is turning into a really interesting character, but overall I'm on team Arya.
Yep! This year will be our 5th anniversary. No kids yet, but we have a dog named Jake who sometimes demands our attention like a child. He can be very dramatic.

G-Man wrote: Thu Mar 29, 2018 12:30 pm Are you content in your life right now?

I'm a pretty laid back person in general, so my default mode is kind of content. Right now I'd say I'm somewhat less content than I've been in the past, but hopefully moving into a bigger place this summer will help (we moved from a rental house in Texas to a one-bedroom apartment here two years ago... and we're paying more in rent. :disappoint: )
If you had to choose one, would you rather be a politician, manual laborer, or clergy? Why?
I think politician, because I have some strong opinions on how things should be done and think we could do a lot of things better. Unfortunately I think I'd be very frustrated by that career.
Are there any other favorite things no one has asked you about yet?
Just like, my favorite things? Or things about myself I think are maybe interesting? I'll give you one of each for now:
Favorite TV show: Futurama (all-time), The Good Place (current)
I'm a big beer connoisseur, although I wouldn't characterize myself as a snob. I tend to like darker styles more than hoppy IPAs.

Best Futurama episode is War is the H Word. (Hah you thought I'd say Jurassic Bark didn't you)

And do you think the Winds of Winter will ever actually come out?

I think I've played Innovation as well but don't really remember how it works
Hah nice! I like the idea of a future trade concrete promise. Got to play another game of Bohnanza this weekend... two of us tied for first, and the other two tied for third (or last). Enjoyed it though!

Yay!

Huh, I didn't even know that was a theory! Reading the wiki on it I think the Manderly case is good, but personally when I read it I thought it was Ramsay lying to Jon, but I don't really recall why I thought that...

I think he's a pretender that's going to be treated as the real deal by a lot of people who hate the Lannisters.

:sigh: Words are wind. I'll believe it when I have it in my hands.

What do you hope your grandchildren will remember you for and tell their grandchildren about you?

What will they actually remember you for and tell their grandchildren about you?

if you could be granted 3 wishes, what would you wish for right now? (an abundant supply of wishes isn't allowed)

Ooh.

Honestly, probably that I'm not actually smart. That I know random trivia but when it comes to actually being intelligent and solving problems etc I'm actually not intelligent and can't do it and I'm just kinda floating along doing just enough to get by but not to excel.

It's more one of those "background existential dread" tyoe fears, not like "AAH SPIDER", but it's the first thing I thought of.
