Yeah, I was perplexed by that post, why would a 20 something guy post about Hitler?? So I loled hard when Epi told me that about the pictures of Hitler.
This was a fun game to watch, especially knowing who was whom.

Epi, you were an epic host, and I love that you set up the game to be funny. As far as comeback games go - this one made me feel like the Syndicate was home, and you deserve a lot of the credit for that.
And sophie, I'm sorry you couldn't win

Nobody takes poor Roger seriously, and as such, his vote is worth zero. However, each time someone unique uses the “haha” smiley, Roger’s vote increases by one. His vote resets to zero at the start of each Day.
That explains so much actually. Good to know I started off the game on the right foot.
I had feeling Golden was the one behind Aces' lynch, but obviously had no idea why.

For the record, I self-voted on Day 1 in order to protect Donald Duck (bea), since I was Daffy. I figured if I'm going to go through the game with some suspicion, I'm far less likely to be NK'd and therefore, Donald would be safe. Unfortunately, they targeted bea on Night 2, and got me first.
It also happened to expose some Weasels in my eyes, and that was an added bonus. I was certain about Aces and Zomba because of their votes on me. I was certain about MP because of his intention to vote, but later flip-flop. Bass and niju happened to hop on the wagon as well, which I am glad others were able to call them out later on.
@ juliets, sorry I was wrong about you.

Congrats winners! Great play by Canuck, one of the best I've ever scene. I had to trust someone in those early days because people wrongly thought i was bad. i trusted Golden and that worked out great - he had an about face with respect to my guilt in the thread. But then he died and unfortunately I picked MP. I almost had to though because he was going so hard against me and convincing others - it was him or rabbit and I thought rabbit was bad. So MP did an about face about me in the thread and then promptly killed me that night. So I missed this great game. Congrats again to the winners and thanks for helping me Golden.
Thats ok MM.

it got me so confused cause i was SURE mp was bad on night 2, so i targeted him first, to kill him.
i came to the thread after night and *NO ONE HAS BEEN KILLED*, so i figured MP must be civvie if he didnt die!
and everyone on the thread was already backing up MP, so many people defending him (he got people in their pockets since early on, dont know how you did this MP, maybe cause i dont know you that much but i never bought any of your defense) so i said "oh well, maybe i was wrong about MP". I know this made me look bad, so contradictory: i was ALL OVER MP until that night, and then backed him up all of the sudden?

i think thsi kind of thing was what made me suspicion since so early
INSTANTS later i realize i havent checked my PM: I had a message from epi "your target didnt go through". SOOOOOOOO MP hadnt survived cause he was good, he survived cause i WAS BLOCKED! instantly, i assumed (correctly) that MP was among the baddies and the baddies have blocked me cause i was so hard after MP, so i FLIPPED AGAIN and started going against MP AGAIN.
i said "i made i mistake, i think MP is bad"
SO, cause i ve been flip flopping so much people started looking at ME as a baddie
anyways, MP you are one crafty baddie!
i always still thought MP was bad, but every time i wanted to brought that up, everyone became instantly suspicion of me. So i eventually dropped it off until the end, when the only possible explanation (i trusted bf, fs, canuck, knew rabbit was civ, bea was being backed up fs) was that MP WAS THE BADDIE, but then people again started backing him up so i figured they had info. bf specially was so sure about mp being civvie.
oh guys guys, i would so have killed him if i would have go with my instincts. The only person i really suspected through the whole game. Im kinda glad he was finally the baddie, cause it means my instincs arent that wrong as i thought, i still have it! i still can be a decent civvie like i used to be when i played mafia a couple of years ago! I will trust my instincts more from now on.
MP, i have no idea how you convinced the rest of the people you were good, but you had people vouching for you since the beggining, and that requieres extreme smartness and craft. I

you, congratulations!

No. He sent us all messages that said he was Betty Boop. This was mine:
Hello, splints! This is MP. I am Betty Boop!
I thought I would send you this message to let you know, because I'm pretty sure you're a civilian after events that have occurred and considering both my removal from the poll yesterday as well as your post bringing that fact to my attention. That interpretation of your actions notwithstanding, I feel I can trust you based on your in-thread behavior, opinions, and baddie hunting. If I can't, well, I took a risk and I commend your game, because if you are mafia you truly deserve to NK me and win this game.
And yes, I realize the irony of me infodumping to you via message when I was insinuating what Zomba and Elo have been doing are perhaps over the line into unnecessarily blunt infodumping, but mine is completely BTS and not into the thread. :P

It makes more sense now that canuck was also sending PM's with a subject she picked and why she was so sure that didn't mean anything.

Canuck, you came up with such an awesome play for this game. I bet you would be a great host.
This would have also been a whole different game if I had understood my role a little better. Epi said that my choice of Zomb was "stupid" but I had a role kind of like this before and I had to send in a PM at the beginning of the night. So....I hurried and tried to pick someone (as I was busy Night 1). If I had known I could wait until the end of the night (and would get BTSC during day2/night2) I would have definitely picked Golden for my first BTSC partner as he had began to show suspicion for me during Night 1. If I had picked him (Roger Rabbit), husband and wife would have been together right away.

I had loads of fun this game. I'm honestly surprise the baddies bought the ploy, since I had to include a million caveats and things in the original PM to make it work.
I thought BR was bad for EVER because she was the first to laugh at Bass' Hitler joke, and I assumed the baddies would stockpile laughs among their teammates to get their point total up. Sorry, BR!
After Zomb's lynch, I was really lost because I could not find any jokes for 2 or 3 of the pictures I sent. I was actually sure by that point that they were no longer buying it, and was totally hooped. I pushed for llama and bea and rabbit because I thought maybe their abscence during the Greasy nights explained the lack of jokes.
I sent in the last cartoon not at all believing that they would bite, and certain that bf must've been the last baddie and had ignored out the ruse...and then just after bea's lynch MP posted his fox "joke" and I nearly jumped out of my chair. I knew I needed to stay alive one more night in order to get the message out about MP, so I posted in the thread a laugh for MPs joke (thus making me a "recruit" candidate) and that I was sure we needed to lynch bf the next day (so that MP wouldn't want to kill me), and then I sent my last message to MP, saying that he had successfully recruited Canucklehead, but that we wouldn't have BTSC :giggle:
I'm not sure if MP bought that, but since he needed to kill Sophie I was safe or the night.
Anywho, I've never had so much fun with a role before. This game will definitely go down on my list of favourites EVER. I may even put the banner in my dog!

When I had BTSC with you I had to role claim. My power was to block people. We had just NK'd Dom and found out through Bass' power that he was Bongo - also had the power to block - so I was able to role claim as Bongo without much suspicion. I made so many mistakes in this game - I should have died many times before I actually did.
I want to know what tipped off BR to my baddiness? What was it she wanted me to say to prove I was civ?

Wow!!! What a game!! Congratulations, civilians, you totally deserved it. Especially Canuck. Just wow! I had absolutely no reason to suspect those recruit messages weren't from Epi. I did question for a few seconds why Epi would include a recruit mechanic, but never did I question whether those messages were actually from him.
We were outplayed from the very beginning. I was panicking because Aces brought so much attention to himself and wasn't sure what to do, especially since in The Hobbit (the game Elo referred to earlier on) I found myself and a couple of my teammates under a lot of suspicion early on and distanced HARD from them. It fell apart because Daisy, BWT, and Epi called me out on it, lynched me, and they subsequently lynched my teammates. I knew people would figure out the same here because I'm known for throwing my teammates under the bus in a heartbeat, so it backfired hard when I steered the thread away from Aces, and Golden was SPOT ON about everything. I tried so hard to convince him and everyone else... I can't believe I made it so far in the game. I was figuring I'd be lynched relatively early on myself, so I specifically defended or issued non-opinions on every single one of my teammates so that if I did get lynched, people would dissect my posts to oblivion.
I did have the power to send messages as Betty Boop; at first, my team and I weren't really sure how to utilize them yet. I thought that we could use them to create chaos, but that alone was not a good enough reason for me. I figured I'd bide my time for a bit and see what we could do with it later as the game went on. Then juliets outed herself to me and it worked perfectly! I thought I could NK her and then pose as her thereafter to get attention off of me. I tried to use it as though I was a civilian as much as possible, and thus wouldn't be sending messages to those I suspected nor every night, because inevitably it's risky. I do feel like I did a pretty good job with that.
Behind the scenes, my team was epic. You guys rocked it. I loved scheming every single minute of this game with all of you!

Canuck, you owned me completely in the end. The reason you hadn't seen jokes from me is because truly I was terrible at coming up with ideas and couldn't think of any!
And I considered NKing you, but we had too many threats going around, and when you did "laugh" I kept waiting for my recruit!

This was an incredibly tough game for us. We all had SO MUCH heat from the very beginning, and then LC was playing so totally pro-civ that he wasn't afraid to throw any of us under the bus. Also, regarding why civilians don't seem to win on this site (though they do win Side Missions roughly half the time, it's Jobs that they fail at), I must say that I firmly believe the main reason is because the civilians don't play to their utmost potential.
This game absolutely confirms that I was right. We tried so hard, but the civilians truly played to their utmost potential. All game. You guys seriously rocked it and you deserved it so much.
I even totally sent a PM to my team just a few (real) days ago asking if I should just give up, because I thought you guys really deserved it and we didn't, but Blooper and Zomba talked me out of it. :P I had just been insanely emotionally and mentally stressed, so that was definitely factoring into my breakdown, but it's also a testament to how insanely well you guys had put the pressure on us all game. It was insanely draining to me, but so, so much fun! Thanks for the game, Epi! It truly was a ball. Maybe my favorite speed game EVER.

It was insanely draining to me, but so, so much fun! Thanks for the game, Epi! It truly was a ball. Maybe my favorite speed game EVER.

Told you they'd get it if they deserved it :P
Yep. :P

And I considered NKing you, but we had too many threats going around, and when you did "laugh" I kept waiting for my recruit!

Not making jokes was totally to your benefit! I was 100% convinced by the Betty Boop thing, and was tying myself in knots trying to figure out which of llama, bea, or rabbit was Greasy. I was ready to vote bf the next day, until you made your fox comment.

I cannot stress how well the civilians owned this game. THIS is how civilians should play mafia. Every single one of you. Seriously.
I am so glad you guys won it in the end. I was obviously disappointed I couldn't pull off the amazing underdog comeback, but it just wouldn't have been right.

I honestly would have given up completely, but we were growing desperate and I thought we could try to shoot for that recruit one more time. I knew I shouldn't have bothered with the fox comment, dammit! :P
Well played. You rocked it.

We also need to hand it to BR for picking almost every one of us out on like D2.

Wow, first off what a great game. I was so invested in this game I was completely pissed when I got killed.
Great play by MP, he completely fooled me. I will never ever ever ever trust what of his spats in a game again. Ever! I have been waiting for this game to end so I could say that.
Canuck I near crawled into the internets to kiss you when you came out against MP today. I wanted the civvies to win this one.
Thank you Epig, I loved my role so much. A role like that gets me into the game. I waited for so long to see a result, Canuck was the first one when I learned her secret. At first I was trying to decide if Zomba was the role blocker as she was hinting, then I realized it was a MASS roleblock and we had a kill night 1. Duh! I then proceeded to call her a liar. If I hadn't died the night before Llama got lynched I could have saved his life his jokes were because of me and I would have known he was civ. It hurt my heart to see him go down, I wanted to save him so bad.

I was really paying attention this game.
If MP hadn't pitched a fit I would have never trusted him. It was so hard because he'd post something and I would think BADDIE! Then I talked myself out of it.

True, he was better than me.

MovingPictures07 wrote:Also, regarding why civilians don't seem to win on this site (though they do win Side Missions roughly half the time, it's Jobs that they fail at), I must say that I firmly believe the main reason is because the civilians don't play to their utmost potential.
Indeed.
2 wins out of 16 total jobs for civilians, that is a rough record. Sure they didn't really stand a chance in a couple games, but Film Director was a prime example with two small, underpowered baddie teams.

MovingPictures07 wrote:LOL, Epi! Indeed.

And I thought Epi was just being super mean when he wouldn't answer any of our questions about the recruiting, but it makes so much sense now.
Canucklehead wrote:Did you receive the message about recruiting me, but with no BTSC, MP?
I did! I even PMed Epi after you voted me, "Hey bitch, where's my BTSC?

"

That's fantastic.
I added that bit about you having to convince me to vote for you in order to gain BTSC because I honestly didn't know how I was going to make a case against you, and I wanted you to do it for me

....but then you weren't around right away, and I was worried about a bandwagon starting on someone else before I could stop it, so I went digging through your posts and made some shit up.
I wasn't lying when I said you hadn't done much to real your alignment in the thread. Other than the Day 1 stuff, I think the case I made against you was spectacularly unconvincing.

And Epig, nice call on the voting manipulations and punishments. It certainly gave my head a spin.
