I don't see anything in the roles for this position about some kind of insanification, forced vote, or any type of posting-altering-related power. So not sure what is going on with MP. I'm starting to wonder if he's trying to prove a point about something.

Also before I forget, I'm putting a vote on Turnip Head for now. Still don't like the back-and-forth he's done.

OK I usually do not like to post without catching up but I'm posting to say that I've cast my revote for Reywas, but I have a ton of pages to read and I see lots of votes for Boomslang so we'll see if I'm swayed to that wagon.

Out of the three self-votes, Boomslang's felt the snarkiest and least genuine.

I get the arguments there, but I feel more comfortable with my vote being where it is.
JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Is Golden being such a distraction entirely his fault? What of the people forcing him into that position including Epignosis?
Who is forcing him into this position. He has been posting and acting the same way since the whole back and forth with Epi started, and I would argue that not even Epi "forced" him to behave that way. This is supposed to be a game, and when you start being emotionally manipulative, you've taken it too far.
Also, Golden had quite a bit more votes before voting for himself on 2 separate occasions during this day phase. That alone makes me feel great about my vote.

I'm keeping my vote on TinyBubbles, who continues to appear that she can't be chuffed to acknowledge the points that have been raised about her. I think she's been recruited, and is trying to maintain the nonchalance that characterized her early play, but is overplaying her hand and is now basically just ignoring the times she has been brought up in hope that it will all disappear behind the much bigger/louder suit-show that is Golden/Rey/everyone else

Okay, so I'm pretty well caught up.

I'm going to try to sum up all of my thoughts in one post.

First, any and all cases that revolve around people not playing like their normal ____ game are irrelevant to me. Whether SVS has seen "this" Golden before, for instance, is useless to my view of this game. We are all stuck in some part of a meta, where we are neutral, then some of us aren't neutral, and some were never neutral, but we are all choosing our own unique path to portray ourselves, and this format is rare thus there IS no meta to actually map out, from a reading perspective. No truth, no tea.

Second, since I'm apparently using RuPaul's Drag Race-isms, let's go with one more. The amount of shade being cast about in here is getting indeed toxic. It's not quite toxic yet, but it's getting there. Let's stop with the "ugh, just lynch me" crap. It's cheap, we're all better than this.

Third, unlike in a normal game, I don't mind at all the people who are suggesting that quieter players should get votes. Only a nutter would recruit from a pool of absentees, imo.

Fourth, the few people who are actually trying to make normal cases all get my thumbs up, and my appreciation, as doing as much as proven to be beyond me so far this game. I note SVS' and rye's thoughts on Golden (while I don't put as much weight on the "never seen this Golden before" stuff {see point #1}, I do appreciate her thoughts on his evasiveness, etc.), also Canuckle's point on Tiny Bubbles.

Fifth, where I'm still at a conundrum is that (and take this with whatever grain of salt you want, I recommend Kosher personally) I still have no team and thus I'm not sure which kind of case to get behind, as any of them could affect my future employer. For instance, Canuckle makes a very good point about TinyBubbles. She seems like she's recruited and unsure of how to act. But what if that's true but Tiny's team will be my team?

Finally, while my vote is on Golden, having said everything I just said, I'd appreciate it if someone could show me the logic in voting elsewhere. Golden's evasiveness has bugged me, but it's not exactly meaty. I'm not sure how to really rally behind the current cases due to my position in the game, so please, give me ideas of how to proceed that sound reasonable, and I may bite.

ETA: and yes, many :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I don't understand the 5th point. If you are not recruited right now, and you think that Tiny could be, why wouldn't you look to vote her off now?

I mean, I'm not gonna go back into whether this is a civ vs. baddie game, because it is to an extent, but even civ factions are vying against each other for power. So as a neutral party, how would you know if someone is your future employer or not? I look at it as a business practice- you're vetting the potential employer as much as they are vetting you. If you can't pull the trigger on a kill, then how does that make you look, even if you did kill one of their own?

alright, I'm back. Took a few breaks from catching up to do other stuff, and I also had a brief bit of internet trouble, but all is well now.

I am going to switch my vote to Boomslang. I know it's an easy bandwagon to hop on, but I'm not really quite feeling it with Rey -- I do not like the way he is playing at all, but I'm less convinced that it actually makes him bad. I could still see it but I'm much more skeptical that he would act this way if he really were the guilty party. And I definitely see potential baddie in Boomslang. He's been pretty under the radar and as JJJ has shown a lot of his posts have been pretty easy contributions. Particularly this post by JJJ gives some good examples of why Boomslang looks like a baddie trying to blend in. But the real nail in the coffin was when this happened:
Boomslang wrote:Let's try voting for myself! Seems to give you a get-out-of-jail free card these days!
Because, I mean, seriously? :suspish: :suspish: :suspish:

And idk what's happening with MP, but my best guess is that his vote has been forced or he's cursed in some way. Looking at just the Position 5 powers and Position 3 powers (in case it's a day power) I don't see anything that could be a posting curse except maybe the Keeper of Order -- "punisher" -- so it could be that and/or Azura's force-vote thing. He is acting pretty damn crazy.

@timmer regarding bubbles... What if she isn't on your future team tho? In the end the civvies will outweigh the baddies so chances are, if she is bad and you are unrecruited, that you won't be on her team.

I'm casting my vote for bubbles again but I plan on looking over the boomslang case someone made to see if that swings me in that direction.

What's interesting with Boom's vote is:
a) he votes himself in protest of people voting themselves
b) eventually votes Golden when he starts getting heat for it.

Weird things from Boom. Hmm...

Give me your tired thoughts, your vents, your bottled anger yearning to be set free via PM - I can take it! I promise. (And if you're unsure about talking to a sock mod, PM me and I'll be happy to listen to and talk with you as myself.) I'm here for you all to hear the un-fun stuff so you can have fun in the thread :) Carry on, my children.

Yeah I kept thinking he was MP and getting really confused. :disappoint:
:haha:

I went ahead and changed mine back to the Rainbow version so that you guys could distinguish the two.

And alright, it's clear I'm not being very productive today, so I'm going to just get up really early tomorrow morning to accomplish some of what I'm working on now, since my productivity rate is bullsuit.

I think I've exhausted all my crazy, so I'll work on a proper response as the evening progresses.
