"Dammit! Thanks a lot MP. Serves me right for subbing into a Postapalooza game." And other such crankiness. Then if it looked like I was destined to be the next lynch, I'd have probably shut down all constructive content and goofed off like I did in Bullets Over Broadway.

BIRDWITTEETH/DRWILGY 2.0
Day 1- Hard pressed to fault someone for missing a vote Day 1 but if you sign up, you should play. Verdict- frustrating.
Day 2- 9th overall, 3rd for Boomslang. "A Person didn't really catch on today, so let's nudge Boomslang out there as the leader." Verdict- sneaky
Day 3- 4th overall, 3rd for A Person. "Looks like we can make this A Person train a thing today." Verdict- advantageous
Day 4- 9th overall, 3rd for Marmot. "Don't want to hop on the Trice train too late, and this Marmot thing may get interesting, so let's go there." Verdict- strategic
Day 5 & 6- Missed the vote. It feels like BWT has a tendency to either show up late or disappear partway into a game. I can't really judge that. Verdict-
OVERALL: His three votes are very well placed. In a vacuum, it looks shady but he's buffered by those three missing votes. That either helps a baddie hide or makes a civvie look worse.

DOM
Day 1- Missed the vote. Hard to judge. Verdict- frustrating
Day 2- 12th overall, 4th for DrWilgy 1.0. "Plenty of votes to come in yet, so let's nudge Wilgy ahead and let the rest of them decide the day and take the heat for it." Verdict- assuming
Day 3- 12th overall, 1st and only for BWT. "Keeping my hands clean on the A Person train but I don't want to tie it and draw suspicion. Better vote sideways." Verdict- strategic
Day 4- 5th vote overall, 4th for Trice. "Better hop on the Trice train while it's still early." Verdict- convenient
Day 5- 7th overall, 4th for Trice. "Looks good to vote him again." Could also be, "Vote him again to nudge him two ahead of a teammate (BWT)." Verdict- strategically consistent
Day 6- 3rd overall, 2nd for Jimmy. "A day spent chasing Trice's SK accusation is a day I can relax." Verdict- convenient
OVERALL: Two strategic votes are worth considering but it's not a sure thing. The convenient votes cut both ways. Consistent votes also cut both ways.

EPIGNOSIS
Day 1- 9th overall, 1st and only for Trice. "Take the higher ground by not voting for an existing train to help my case." Verdict- strategic
Day 2- 11th overall, 3rd for DrWilgy 1.0. "Why have a runaway civ train on Boomslang when you can have competing civ trains?" Verdict- strategic
Day 3- Missed the vote. I can't fault him because stuff happens but it helps because the A Person train looked awful from a vote perspective. Verdict- neutral
Day 4- 2nd overall, 1st for Trice. "I voted for him once and I can make myself look good if others follow me on this one." Verdict- advantageous
Day 5- 9th overall, 5th for Trice. "Consistency, consistency, consistency. And it keeps the SK from getting a teammate." Verdict- obvious
Day 6- 9th overall, 6th for Jimmy. "Well duh." Verdict- obvious
OVERALL: There's not much to like here but I do have a tendency to read Epi like a James Bond villain.

JAGGEDJIMMYJAY
Day 1- 4th overall, 2nd for INH. "Might as well nudge one of these three into the lead." Verdict- opportunisitc
Day 2- 7th overall, 1st for DrWilgy 1.0. "None of the others satisfy me, so let's try this." Verdict- risky
Day 3- 11th overall, 5th for A Person. "I'm not afraid to break a tie because I can talk my way out of any heat that may come of it." Verdict- risky
Day 4- 4th overall, 3rd for Trice. "Let's see if we can get others on board and make this a runaway train." Verdict- advantageous
Day 5- 3rd overall, 2nd for Trice. "Consistent and persistent- that's the Jimmy way." Verdict- vengeful (if Trice claimed against him already); otherwise opportunisitc
Day 6- 4th overall, 2nd for BWT. "Self-preservation mode... engage!" Verdict- obvious
OVERALL: It's the two risky votes that steer me away from him as mafia. Why go that route?

I'll try to work on the other four later this afternoon. Gotta get back to work.

Done with two more:

LORAB
Day 1- Missed the vote. Can't judge too much. Verdict- frustrating
Day 2- 2nd overall, 1st for A Person. "Attack a low poster for pet peeve cover." Verdict- Convenient
Day 3- 3rd overall, 2nd for A Person. "Keep after the pet peeve." Verdict- convenient
Day 4- 7th overall, 5th for Trice. "Seems like a runaway, so let's get on it in the middle." Verdict- assuming
Day 5- 2nd overall, 1st for Trice. "Consistency and promising. I like it." Verdict- advantageous
Day 6- 7th overall, 1st and only for Marmot. "Protest the Jimmy vote in case it's all smoke screen." Verdict- strategic
OVERALL: It plays very well to LoRab's meta. She's one of the few whose meta I have filed away and this all works. She's either done a masterful job as mafia, hidden herself well as SK, or is plainly civ.

METALMARSH89
Day 1- 6th overall, 2nd on Timmer. "Let's throw a vote here and keep two trains open." Verdict- strategic
Day 2- 5th overall, 1st for Boomslang. "Let's try this and see if it sticks." Verdict- random
Day 3- 13th overall, 6th for A Person. "Self-preservation." Verdict- obvious
Day 4- 13th overall, 6th for Trice. "Self-preservation." Verdict- obvious
Day 5- 1st overall, 1st on BWT. "Let's be wacky and vote for a teammate/other civvie and keep them guessing." Verdict- Unexpected
Day 6- 1st overall, 1st on BWT. "Consistently wacky. Yeah, that's the ticket." Verdict- strategic
OVERALL: I might actually be able to see Marmot as a possible SK now as well as mafia. Those self-preservation votes make it a smidge harder to read into than Epi.

Why do you think Trice thought JJJ ist he SK?

Maybe because 3J is the SK. I'm not ruling out 3J as the SK in favour of someone else, I just think that MP's use of PoE in this situation is compatible with a SK mindset. It's worth entertaining all options.

I criticized MM for voting Boomslang instead of timmer in that instance. I called his logic backwards and that if he thinks timmer is bad because of his return, then he should vote for timmer-- not for his suspected teammate.

But that's a detail you failed to mention here.
You didn't understand his suspicion of timmer. You said that:
Dom wrote:I still don't really understand why you suspect Timmer tbh
I agree that Marmot's initial vote for Boomslang was logically backwards given his stated timing beef. Independent of that Boomslang vote though was his suspicion of timmer -- that's what I'm talking about here. What made Marmot's suspicion of timmer hard to understand, and how does that compare with your current suspicion of sig?
Dom wrote:one where I didn't mention I suspected him less than two hours before.
Two hours is a long time. You voiced suspicion of him well earlier than that too. Why did it matter today?
TBH it's that I skimmed the thread at that point and just wanted a summary. Too many posts. So I asked for one. I have since determined that I think MM is civ and I no longer care about his reasons for his old Timmer suspicion.
Comments on it not making sense are attributed to the backwards nature of the suspicion. If you continue reading (this is the third time I have told you to actually go back and find the facts on this rather than presenting half of them), you'll see that I even apologize to him for not realizing he had corrected himself.
Any reason why you leave out key details here?
JaggedJimmyJay wrote:
Dom wrote:I also do not like how this discussion has been made about sig.

I posted earlier that WilgyTeeth was my biggest suspect. I don't see why the focus on him has waned.
My current discussion is not about sig, it is about you. The current flow of the dialogue does not change the tally, sig has no votes. What is your concern with this?
My concern is my attention is away from Wilgy-- my biggest suspect other than you. :)

Wilgy-- where are you in your catch up/what are you doing to catch up? What can I do to help you understand the accusations levied against you? I want you to have a shot at defending yourself, but I also think you are very likely a baddie :p
This reeks. Wilgy can't defend himself. He's a replacement.
Wilgy has said he will catch up and post his thoughts. I understand he might not read detailed, but I'm awaiting those thoughts before I vote for him. Perhaps that will convince me to not vote for him.
You said 'defend'. I don't think that defending oneself and being engaged in the thread are synonymous. Although, I guess they both lead to the intended outcome where one is cleared of suspicion.

You apologized in the same post I just brought up. You're portraying this like it was a natural progression from "MM's suspicion is backwards" to "MM suspects timmer now" to "Nevermind, I apologize". You didn't forgive his timmer suspicion when you apologized, it's literally the same moment you asked him to expand on it.
Here is what I said:

Dom wrote: Marshy, I'm sorry. I totally mixed up the two.

I said the suspicion was non-sensical before apologizing. Why do I have to keep correcting the record?
I asked him to clarify because I didn't understand why he thought Timmer was suspicious. This is for a variety of reasons. 1) You'll read that I was pretty ill at the time and if you read around my post history, I got many, many facts wrong in these times. This was one of three I found just by re-reading this section of my post history. 2) I skimmed parts of the thread becaues people were posting a lot. 3) I did not understand his suspicion.
JaggedJimmyJay wrote:If I believe there might be an inconsistency in the way you treat two people in this game under similar circumstances, that raises questions about your sincerity. I'm going to explore that scenario as much as I feel is necessary to determine whether your mindset is civilian-oriented.
I don't believe these are the same circumstances, and I also do not believe you are characterizing my posts in an accurate way.
JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Why do you keep asserting I'm leaving out details? What is the implication?
It's a change of tone you have had. I am curious where it came from. It couldn't be that I suspect you, could it?

I civ read you most of the game-- I now want to lynch you.

JaggedJimmyJay wrote:A point about the trice controversy that I'm not sure has been adequately addressed:

Those who think I'm the SK and trice exposed me -- do you assert that trice wasn't genuinely trying as hard as he could to get me lynched?
If I'm the SK, trice didn't merely out me. He tried his best to lynch me too, otherwise unprovoked and unpressured. Explain that to me. I think there's a readily visible motive for him to erroneously paint me as the SK*, but there is not a readily visible motive for him to try to lead the lynch of the player upon whom one of his win conditions rests. If you accept that reality, that means you accept that trice didn't care about winning the game. You accept that trice screwed his potential teammate over to no gain of his own.

*even without having been recruited, he can still play in a way that anticipates recruitment. By screaming and yelling about the SK he is by default revealing himself to the true SK that it's a role he is placing inordinate focus on -- that serves as a signal and can facilitate the recruitment. By focusing that screaming and yelling on someone who is not the SK (me), he ensures that when his role is publicly revealed, he doesn't expose both himself and his teammate. Any suspicions originating from that reveal are directed upon me and my false lynch safeguards them both.

So, everyone who has defaulted to the notion that I am the SK because trice said so -- it is your responsibility to answer this. Off-hand I can name: Epignosis and Dom. Marmot and LoRab too, though their suspicion has been less SK-focused. Those who are cursed I understand you can't answer now. Do it later.
It is my understanding htat Trice revealed that because he didn't want to be lynched.

You said 'defend'. I don't think that defending oneself and being engaged in the thread are synonymous. Although, I guess they both lead to the intended outcome where one is cleared of suspicion.
'Tis what I meant.

Does that make you suspect me more as mafia or a serial killer? Or does it just give you general baddie vibes? Did you determine that MP had potential SK vibes before or after my arrival? You reference his "POE stunt." Do you recall what day he did that on? If so, I can go back and take a look at it.

I realize it was an odd question ask (what people felt about the player I subbed in for) but I was curious to know if I had room to breathe at first or if I would have to launch into razzle-dazzle-don't-lynch-me mode right out of the gate. Mental preparation, you know?

LoRab wrote:(nor am I sure that I buy that he didn't know for whom he was subbing in, while he was reading back a few pages, and considering if he was going to sub in).
It's true. The Day 5 lynch post dropped at 11:43 pm. I discovered I subbed in for MP but hadn't gotten my role card yet. I PM'd our host for the down-low and went to bed. He sent me the role card a few minutes later but I was already in bed.

And now for those vote reads...
I think your entrance is compatible with either, since the only significant difference between the two factions are the numbers. I think I came across his PoE strategy during my read of BWT, and I'm pretty sure that was after your entrance (I remember because I referred to you in one of the posts I commented on). I haven't read MP's posts in ISO (I'm playing three games on top of IRL - it's a bad excuse, sue me), but I know that PoE monopolised the early discussion on Day 0 and maybe even Day 1.

Mental preparation is the excuse I was expecting. I don't feel anything for it, because I can understand the confusion of subbing into an active game like this, having done it myself, but I also don't see a civ-minded motivation for asking about your position in the game. I'd feel better if you'd just gotten right into it.

Posting from my phone so I won't use quotes.

~ The core of my concern about your teatment of sig today is that you're being opportunistic. I think MM's timing-based accusation of timmer was weak, and I think your timing-based accusation of sig is weak.

~ I don't give a crap that you suspect me. Who doesn't suspect me? I'm the odds-on lynch whenever I'm back in the poll. My interest is in figuring out who's bad before that happens if it must. Your handling of sig this phase is suspicious and I am treating it accordingly.

~ trice opened Day 4 immediately against me before a bandwagon ever formed on him. That logic doesn't hold.

Dom, you can't think of ANY reason for Trice to falsely implicate Jimmy as the serial killer?

Doing these by phone. Forgive any formatting differences.

SIG
Day 1- 14th overall, 6th on INH. "Late vote for the wifom." Verdict- risky
Day 2- 14th overall, 4th on Boomslang. "Late vote on the runner up because it looks good and keeps me from having blood on my hands two days in a row." Verdict- strategic
Day 3- 8th overall, 1st and only for Dom. "Sideways vote to keep me off the bad-idea lynch train. Suggests I'm disagreeing but still trying." Verdict- advantageous
Day 4- 1st overall, 1st and only for Sloonei/Quin. "Time for an early vote to mix things up." Verdict- convenient
Day 5- Missed the vote. Verdict- frustrating
Day 6- Missed the vote. Verdict- Even more frustrating
OVERALL: Tough call with the most recent days being void of votes. Not enough for me to call him bad. Need more input.

Done after this one:

SLOONEI/QUIN
Day 1- 13th overall, 5th on INH. "Let's put this thing further ahead if not to bed." Verdict- strategically risky
Day 2- Missed the vote. Verdict- frustrating
Day 3- 1st overall, 1st and only on LoRab. "Making up for missing one by voting early." Verdict- convenient
Day 4- Missed the vote. Verdict- frustrating
Day 5- 5th overall, 1st and only for Scotty. "Different player, different kind of vote." Verdict- unclear
Day 6- 6th overall, 4th for Jimmy. "When in Rome." Verdict- advantageous
OVERALL: Missing votes and a change in players makes this tough. Looks like it could have the makings of a baddie but more info is needed.

Doling out a vote for Marmot. He's my #2 and my technicolors would benefit most from his passing.

I'm still opening to lynching Epineezer Scrooge though, in case anyone is interested.

Put my vote on G-Man for now. I will sort of be on, so I could be convinced to change it, if I am able to see posts and not be paying attention to meeting. Minly because I don't want to vote for MM because I'm too iffy on that. And because I'm finding his posts more suspicious than sig's. And anyone else on this poll, I feel pretty good about. So, ironically, it's kind of process of elimination.

Voted MM. I think he is a good dual candidate for both baddie factions. I might not be home for the deadline.

In a world where 3J isn't the serial killer, he could be providence. This is what comes up in a google search:

the protective care of God or of nature as a spiritual power.
"they found their trust in divine providence to be a source of comfort"
synonyms: fate, destiny, nemesis, kismet, God's will, divine intervention, predestination, predetermination; More
