Yeah I was hoping the US would get out of their group. I want them to go far just because I think it's hilarious that even they're better than us. They'll go through the next game definitely, my flatmates and I have always said if USA get out of the group their 2nd round game will be the easiest they've had so far. Just a shame that Argentina will knock them out in the QFs.

If Argentina don't get beaten by Chile.

I was going to say they don't have a chance, but thinking about it they probably do. Argentina should have dominated their group considering the other three teams, but they almost didn't beat Bosnia and even Iran gave them a run for their money. USA/Switzerland would actually be really interesting considering the American teams seem to be doing really well in general, half of the final 16 are American countries.

I figured we had a chance to make it out of our group. But I would be totally shocked if we made it to the QFs. This team isn't good enough to beat Belgium IMO. I'd have more confidence if our back 4 were better honestly. And even if we do sneak by Belgium, we'd probably have face France in the QF, and then I would just give up on life lol

I think everyone knew Germany would win your group, being among the top 5 in the world. I expected Portugal to finish second though until they started playing. You guys almost had them beaten as well until the last minute! You were unlikely to get a win against Germany but held your own and only let one goal in. I don't know if Belgium will provide the challenge that your last three games have. The way I've read the fixtures though, you don't get France (or Germany again) until the Semi's right? It's the winner of Argentina/Switzerland next I thought. Either way you've got a tough path. This probably isn't going to be the USA's year but they've played better than a lot of teams and I hope they go far, I'd rather have a surprise than see one of the usual teams (Brazil, Argentina, etc.) win.

I think it's actually a little surprising that bullzeye says he has never seen that done. I feel like it has been done a lot.

I never actually said that, just that I wouldn't expect to see it done. I don't see the point of someone trying it. It's definitely not a way to gain civ cred, nobody ever uses a silencing as a reason to believe somebody is or isn't a civ. So I don't understand why Snow would suggest anyone tried to make themselves look like a civ by pretending to be silenced. It doesn't make sense.

Care to back that up with something other than "Because Llama says his votes make him bad despite having cast the same ones" or "Because Epig says so and admits he doesn't really have much reason to think it"? There isn't a relationship between me and Splints. I don't think we've even spoken to each other all game.

Yes but I said that (mistakenly) because I was denying Epig's supposed connection between us. We both know there isn't one. If I'm lynched that will be made obvious and perhaps get Epi off your back but it seems like by pointing out my mistake you're trying to disagree with me about us not being connected?

Well if you're right about the thief there are no more than three Goblins. We haven't been told the wood elves are gone so there's one or two of those left. Smaug is presumably still with us and we don't know about the Mayor or Gollum. I would guess that out of 11 players, we've got 3 baddies, a Smaug, two Elves, and maybe as few as three civs if both Gollum and the Mayor are alive. Hopefully a Goblin or two have been NKed other than just the thief but the game looks quite close to being over if my numbers are correct.

I'm just going to ignore this. Counting on the roles page there are five. If Snow is right then that means we know for sure two are dead so three would be left. Unless Smaug or the other Goblin team killed any.

As to llama's thoughts that Bullz is a Goblin i can at least see the argument here, the votes and the strong defense of boogs if that defense took place after the other Moria's had died. I did not check that out so I still need to do that. I don't see the evidence as overwhelming, as Bullz pointed out many other people voted like him on Mongoose and INH and maybe others (I need to look at that). Those two I remember off the top of my head. So at this point I'm still exploring. Llama if there is anything you think i have missed or that I am not seeing as strong evidence then please speak up. Bullz, you worry me because of how bad you fooled me in LOST - you were brilliant but it's left me with an uneasy feeling about you. If there is anything else you think I am overlooking please speak up.

I have not read splints yet. I first need to look at Epig's posts. Seems like he said something before he was insanified about her being the mayor but i could just be confused on that point.

btw I did look back, and she has posted more recently than I thought, but she still at this point only has 28 posts. I might try and reread those quick but I feel like she has been overly blendy and should be looked harder at
